Relatively average poke experience. Their toppings choices are quite generic; maybe even on the boring side. They do have sushi rice as a option for the base. The sauce were the typical selections you will find at most poke places. I got some creamy green (cilantro?) wasabi sauce, which I could only taste the wasabi and nothing else. Now the fish - I had seasoned tuna. The tuna were cut a bit small, which makes it hard to get the chewy texture of the tuna. Also, the portion of the fish was on the smaller side. read more

Great place to eat. The food is incredibly FRESH and the restaurant is super clean. Social distancing is enforced and hand sanitizer is offered. They installed a plexi glass divider at the counter. Ever since I left Hawaii I have craved good Poke. Saw this place on internet and drove 60 miles to try it. The place was a little hard to find in Brier Creek, it sits in the back of other businesses along the side of the highway. Upon entering the atmosphere was not very inviting, you would think it would have an Island vibe and decor, nope, plain walls and no decorations. The restaurant was quite busy, I was surprised, not many mainlanders know about good Poke. Staff did not welcome us in, not very friendly, basically took orders. We did the create your own poke bowl, lots of varieties and options, I did the ahi tuna and spicy tuna and added extras, the wasabi aioli was very good. Upon eating you could tell fish was not fresh, which Poke is all about freshness. The dish was good, not on par with Hawaiian Poke. So, would I return, no, anyone who has had real Poke in Hawaii would agree with me. I'm glad that I did make the drive to at least try it, I can cross this place off my list. Oh, before I conclude, I must say that it was expensive, I understand that the price of fish here is different, but, in Hawaii you can get a pound container of excellent Poke for less than half. My husband saw this place on our local next door neighbor app and wanted to try it out. We had to do some shopping in BC anyway so we decided to stop by for dinner. We arrived around 6pm and the restaurant was pretty empty, just us and another couple there. We were immediately help with our orders and serve our poke bowls. My husband and I were presently surprised at how good the bowls were, better then the others we've had elsewhere. My husband has already asked to go back. I was pleasantly surprised by this place. The bowl seems a bit small for the price and they could stand to put a few more pieces of fish in there for the amount of rice but the flavor is really good. I did a build your own with half brown rice and half sushi rice and half spicy tuna and half marinated tuna. Both fish are very tasty. Good amount of add on choices to go in the bowl and the sauces were nice compliments. Everything was good but the Tuna was perfect squares and leads me to think "US Foods or Sysco" provided rather than genuine sushi. Service was good. Older man of Asian decent helped me. This is my favorite lunch place hands down. I love it because it's quick. You get to go through the line selecting the toppings you want in your poke bowl. The fish tastes super fresh and always very flavorful. I suggest making your own bowl up selecting your most favorite toppings. Don't be afraid to ask for more sauce. For the price, this place was definitely not worth it. For 3 bowls that weren't even filled to the top, it was well over $50. The gentleman who prepared my bowl sloppily put the toppings in. When he grabbed the salmon, it was barely a full scoop. I've had other poke places that charge the same and maybe even less, but would put 2-3 full scoops with it filled to the top. The imitation crab isn't flaky and more stringy. The avocado wasn't ripe. To me, the reviews are misleading or some just havent tried good poke spots before. There was only 2 people in there when I arrived. I ordered half and half base with salad and rice. I found it weird and annoying that they charge extra for seaweed salad and crab straws? I did half and half protein with marinated poke and shrimp. The food itself wasn't too bad. A little bland but not bad. I'm from Hawaii so I have high expectations for poke. It wasn't bad. It would've been nice as you are adding stuff if the staff would tell you it's an up-charge since MANY of the standard items at other places are up-charged Here. But it was $14 for a super small bowl. Usually when I get poke bowls mostly from Zenfish I can get everything I want and a few extras for $12 and the bowls are WAY bigger. I was still hungry after the very small and expensive bowl from poke bros. They also only give you a super small amount of poke. I think I'll stick with Zenfish as they are bigger, cheaper, have more choices and always fill me up. Poke Bros was ok. I went here for lunch during work hours and the place was not very crowded. I began my order saying I wanted raw salmon and the person taking my order was quite rude saying I had to pick the rice first. In essence, the way they show the things you show order are backwards and so it makes it hard for you to order. With that said, Poke Bros shouldn't be rude saying you should order rice first. If it wasn't for the rudeness I'd give this place 4 stars for what it is. Ok to try out, but beware you won't get a lot of service here. read more

Recently moved to the area and I was super excited that there was a poke place nearby in Briar Creek. The shop is very small, smaller than other poke places I've been to. I got a poke bowl to go with sushi rice as my base. They have several options for bases, more than usual and I was excited to try it with sushi rice because I've tried it before and it was very delicious. Next up you got to select your different toppings, veggies like cucumber, edamame, corn, etc. Typically they mix your toppings in a separate bowl then put it on top of the rice but he just put it all into my bowl which I didn't like, I would have liked it mix and the veggies were cut in all different shapes and sizes. We ordered for pickup and it was done in a timely manner. I had the Duke and my wife had the Johnny Utah, both were great, though I was expecting the "spicy mix" to be a little more spicy. The flavors were pretty tame overall. Our daughters had the make your own style bowls, neither of which seemed to get a particularly warm reception, but that's largely a problem with their own tastes.
