Friend and I had been here a couple months ago and really like the food. We had to return to try out the Pokē Burger which is only offered on Thursdays. Wow, amazing - and highly recommend. Service is friendly and upbeat.

Stopped by & grabbed a poke bowl for my eldest daughter. Tried the 2nd location I believe the 1st one is on East Plaza blvd in National city. She's ordered before alot from National city. This spot is North Park located on the south west corner of El Cajon Blvd & Kansas st in a little small strip mall across from jack in the box. Where Subway use to be for many years. Sits next to City Dragon Chinese restaurant. Parking is limited due to laundromat in same area. Inside was clean & quite & the service was good. The gentleman assisting with the order was very informative & explained the pokerito my friend was interested in. Ordered :Regular size Poke bowl with a mixed green base with ahi Tuna, salmon, and spicy tuna, avocado, cucumber, krab salad, white onions, Chipotle Mayo, cilantro lime, sesame oil, Seaweed flakes, Seaweed salad, cilantro and ginger. And she was pleased with the portions size for regular size bowl. And will only be able to eat a small amount She really likes the location & will look into going there again.

I've been here a few times now and they are consistently great! You pick your base, protein, and toppings, so it's quick and very efficient. We both got the salmon, yellowtail, and tuna! If you choose yellowtail or add avocado or mango, those are extra charges, fyi. My hubby isn't a fan of poke, but enjoyed his bowl for the first time! I'm glad they have another location that's closer to us as well.

I have been here a few times and every single time, the food is always amazing. I love being able to customize my own bowls and I especially love that they have so many options that you could add for both toppings and protein choice. I always get a large because I can never make up my mind on what proteins to get, so why not have 4 kinds in my bowl lol. When getting toppings, some do come at an additional cost, so make sure you look to see which ones do cost extra and which ones do not. In addition to the food being delicious whenever I visit, the staff are always really nice and helpful. I also like the vibe of the place too -- it is always clean and bright with colorful murals on the wall.

I asked her what she wanted and she said, "seafood", so I immediately thought of Blue Water, and we drove right over. We parked at a metered spot nearby & walked in at 5pm. Do note that there is no dedicated parking for Blue Water, so at busy times it may be tricky to find a spot, but we had no trouble today. In the main dining ordering area & on the side patio, there were a few tables that were occupied, but there was no ordering line. All of us wanted shrimp today apparently, so my dad and I both got a shrimp taco with lemon garlic butter & my hungry mom got the shrimp platter also with lemon garlic butter. The platter came with 8 shrimp, jasmine rice, and a lovely, fresh garden salad. The server who took our order and brought it out to us was very helpful & nice. They have a ton of fresh seafood on offer though so if shrimp is not your thing, there will likely be another delightful offering from the sea that will suit your fancy. We sat in the side patio area and it was very pleasant. We enjoyed our experience this evening very much! The tacos were big and had more than 5 shrimp in them, plus cabbage, pico, cheddar cheese & white sauce. One taco was pretty decently sized. If I'd been hungrier, two tacos would've been perfect, but today, I was happy with one taco. Yum! Mom enjoyed her platter. It was beautifully prepared. Blue Water also has a decent soft drink selection and beers and wine, but we all just had their water and it was very refreshing! :) By the time we left at 5:45, a line was forming out the door, so we really came out at a good time. Peace!

However, when we walked in, we weren't greeted by the host and ended up waiting about ten minutes in an almost empty restaurant before being seated. We were close to walking out at that point. We dined as a group of two adults, a child, and an infant. I do want to give credit where it's due since they were very accommodating for kids. They provided a booster seat and also gave us something to securely hold our infant's car seat, which we really appreciated. The restaurant isn't specifically geared toward families, but they made it feel kid-friendly, which ended up being one of the highlights of our visit. Service was a bit uneven. Our waitress seemed flustered and forgot to put in our appetizer order, which was disappointing. That said, she did bring out our child's meal first, which was a thoughtful touch since kids don't like to wait. As for the food, it was good but not particularly memorable. We ordered a combo platter with asparagus, as well as swordfish with Brussels sprouts and mac and cheese. Everything was decent, but nothing really stood out except the bread. In fact, my husband makes better Brussels sprouts and swordfish at home. Overall, there were some positives, especially the kid-friendly accommodations, but the service hiccups and average food mean we're on the fence about returning.

Arrived around 5:15pm, and there wasn't a line, but the restaurant had a good amount of diners. Pretty good ventilation at the front of the restaurant, but the back part of the restaurant, likely the overflow room was where my family and I were seated. It had a funky smell to the area and there was poor ventilation. I wanted to step out but I refrained. Everything felt stuffy in that section. The only nice person was the male staff member at the front for checkin. The rest of the staff were not very friendly. The hostess who walked us to our table was not very friendly and just rushed things. Took our drink orders, and didn't say much. Just walked off. I was surprised to see the pitchers with the beverages were sitting on top of a counter outside where customers are, without any lids. Anyone can just walk by and touch or spit in them. Thought that was not very hygienic... Different sections of food. I never expect food at buffets to be of good quality or taste excellent, so the food items were all mediocre. The teppanyaki grill was... well, let's just say they use the same spatula for everyone's entreés. You load up your plate and the cook throws everything on the grill. Uses the same spatulas to cook everyone's food. If you have allergies or sensitivity to spice, then probably avoid this section. He cooked the meat for someone else's plate and then touched the veggies for the other. Used mod spice level sauce for one, and then same spatula on my entreé. My order was non-spicy, but it had a kick since the neighboring sauce got onto my stir fry. Dessert section isn't even labeled.... meaning, the baked/dessert items aren't labeled other than the gelato flavors. Crab legs were very salty. Lobster claws in the cold section were OK though. The warm lobster they serve is limited to 1 per person per serving. Long line, and if they run out, you have to wait or return when they serve again. People were waiting in line while eating their food... the lobsters are tiny, dry, and with very little meat. It is definitely not worth paying the extra for lobster night. The amount of waiting time is ridiculous and there is no guarantee that you can even get a lobster. Some groups have 1 person waiting in line and then when it is their turn, the rest of the group members (5-7) cut the whole line to each get a lobster. I was trying to get 1 for my mother, and I didn't get to eat one, but didn't mind since it didn't even look good. Rest of the foods were mediocre too. I had 1 plate that wasn't even full... lost my appetite. Wouldn't return. Hygiene.... cross contamination... Some people say this place is like the old Pala casino buffet or Las Vegas buffet- definitely not the case. Parking can be compact. Gets busy around 5:45p it seems as more people were waiting in the lobby.

The building has the shape of an old school Pizza Hut with light blue paint on the exterior. I believe its predecessor was a Vietnamese eatery. A small dedicated parking lot was available to the right and back of the structure. A large countertop was in the front of the room, however a sign explicitly stated that seating was not allowed there. That was not the case when the business first opened. The rest of the dining room had lots of four top tables that could be pushed together if you had a large party. I would say the seating capacity was around 60. A worker brought me to a table and laid out a large sheet of wax paper to serve as a tablecloth and/or the surface on which a boil bag contents would be placed. The two-sided menu had build your own seafood boils, bucket deals, and combo meals featured on one page. Starters, oysters, special entrees, soup, and dessert were also on this side. The other page listed the fried baskets, weekday specials, and beverages. Unfortunately, the Gumbo was sold out during my visit which was one item that I really wanted to try. I waffled between the Garlic Noodles with Shrimp and the Shrimp & Grits that were each priced at $16. The latter was my choice with mild spiciness. A shallow dish containing a bed of grits with eight pieces of shrimp was brought to my table in about 10 minutes. A fiery looking sauce (tobasco?) was applied on top of the grits, but it looked a lot meaner than it tasted. If anything, the sauce made this entree quite salty. For the price, quality, and quantity of my food, I gave a three star rating for my meal at Shrimp Heads.

When the host got to me and my boyfriend, they asked if we were okay with sitting in the back; we both didn't mind given our hunger, but I quietly regretted the decision a little when we were sat close to the exit door especially since there was no cell service from where we were situated. But I had no qualms about it whatsoever, as I was more focused on the experience of the food. I ordered the Fettuccine Bolognese while my boyfriend ordered the Piccante. I was pleasantly surprised with how quick my food came to the table, with my boyfriend's not too long after. Despite the portion size, the fettuccine filled me up well and the marinara sauce was flavorful. My boyfriend raved about his pizza as well as the chili oil provided for garnish. (You can actually taste the chili in the chili oil, so be wary of that if you're one not accustomed to large spice.) I had only tried the crust of his pizza, but even that alone, it was still delicious. A part of the reason for our visit was to try the Tiramisu and it didn't disappoint at all. It was the right balance of sweet mascarpone and rich espresso. Our server was kind and attentive to us, checking on us and giving us updates on our food. We were both surprised to see that after asking for the check, we weren't charged for the Tiramisu, a kind gesture we appreciated. Overall, my boyfriend and I enjoyed our time here. I stopped by mall today to get coffee and Cava. So decided to try the online ordering again and…read moretake the chance that the items would be ready when confirmed. Maybe it was a lucky day or they hear customers but today was a totally different experience. The hostess was so helpful and she was the one who went behind the counter to find my order which was already bagged and ready! I couldn't believe it and thanked her so much for her help. The order was packaged very well and the pastries were still warm from being freshly made. The guava puff pastry was flatter today but tasted exceptionally good especially with an afternoon coffee. So impressed by the positive pick up order !

Food came out remarkably fast, especially the paella, since it had a disclaimer that it may take 15 mins to prepare. First off, I got the Chicken Pollo. This was dry :(. I also ordered my favorite, Yuca Fries, which were noticeably smaller than before, about half the size! Although they tasted the same, the amount was definitely less than before. My friends shared the paella and it was dry as well. One of friends asked the waiter, "How is the food prepared? Is it all premade and stored in a warmer?" To finish off, we got the Cuban Coffee Tres Leches cake, which super soft and moist. My friends loved this dessert. I still love the ambiance of this place as it reminds me of being on vacation. Sadly, this place misses the mark and it wasn't the way it was when I last visited.

The seating area is small and parking can be challenging, but the food more than makes up for it. The fish tacos were outstanding--some of the best I've had in San Diego. Both the smoked fish taco and the beer-battered fish taco were incredible and packed with flavor. The seafood tower was also amazing, fresh, and beautifully put together. The only item that missed the mark for me was the al pastor taco, which was a little too sweet for my taste. Everything else was excellent. If you're looking for quality seafood, amazing fish tacos, and a casual spot with great energy, El Viejon Seafood is definitely worth a visit. Service was nice and fast. Good tasting salsa selections

I've been meaning to go to this place for a long while and finally made it for lunch! The place ia well known for its gimmicky tower but it works! I'd suggest it better for happy hour or dinner with friends. There were 3 of us and it was plenty but we ordered one taco extra each and we were stuffed!! Got the queso shrimp taco and it was super good, too. I like this place and will be back! U order first and then they bring to your table. Parking can be a challenge but it's worth it.
