You order on the spot and seat yourself to eat. They make your food quickly, possible too quickly, because the bowel was rushed and barely had any sauce on it. The photo was including the extra we asked for. Miso soup (1 portion) came in a plastic container and was easily enough for 2 people. I wish they had regular dishes for dine-in customers. I entered the empty restaurant at 3ish on a Tuesday afternoon. The staff or owners seemed very kind. I was kindly greeted by a lady. I asked, " What are you known for?" She pointed me in the direction of a few Poke bowls. I chose the Volcano roll because she said, "It's spicy." I added a little mango to balance what might be too spicy. To make a long story short, this was one of the most delicious bowls, I've ever had. So fresh! So tasty! I will certainly be back to try more items! I'm addicted! Poke being one of my favorite lunch options in NYC, this place piqued my curiosity seeing that it has 183+ reviews and an average rating of 4.5 stars. Tried the salmon bowl and the rainbow bowl, with a side order of takoyaki (octopus balls). Good takoyaki--served with a soy-based sauce and bonito flakes, this is pretty much what you'd get on a street corner in Japan. The poke bowl portions are generous, they don't skimp on any ingredients. The fish was fresh too. Didn't try the other menu items but would be open to trying next time. Even at 2:30-3:30pm on a rainy Saturday afternoon there was a constant flow of people coming in. Ample seating for about two dozen+ people. My only gripe is that the pre-seasoned fish options are a bit too salty, but the overall flavors meshed together well and I would definitely come back! read more

My bowl had spicy tuna and marinated salmon, tamagotchi, extra crab and seaweed salad, edamame, seaweed, sesame seeds, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, eel sauce, and Panko breadcrumbs on a bed of rice. Best $10 I've spent all semester. Not only was the bowl extremely filling (could easily be 2 meals or a meal and a snack for later), but the fish was SO FRESH and flavorful!! Everything was the highest quality, and the customer service was great too. I was super full but felt great afterwards because the food was light, fresh, and perfectly assembled. The plethora of sauces and infinite possible combinations makes me want to keep going back for more! Poke fish isn't in downtown Ann Arbor, but it's definitely worth the drive. Fast-food sushi in a bowl form. Actually quite good, $10-12 per bowl, and you get to add all the toppings! Nice spot for a quick bite and you get sushi flavors without sushi prices. Casual ambience, in a strip mall, usually filled with students and other youngish people. Easy take out option as well. Their menu is simple: For $10 you get a bowl with white or brown rice and two proteins (choose from among many dish options, most raw and some cooked). A third protein is $2 extra. I like the marinated salmon and tuna pieces (raw). Then you get to load the bowl up with toppings and they really let you go to town for no extra charge (avocado is the only up charge at $2). I particularly like the seaweed salad (I'm telling you this place is sushi in a bowl), ginger, grape tomato, crispy onion, edamame, and rho eggs. Ann Arbor is a little late to the poke game, but I'm glad they finally caught up with the rest of the country! I had seen and heard of Poke for a few years now and when my friend suggested we go there for a quick dinner, I said yes! The location isn't bad -- it is a little hidden but it's near some other quasi-chains and parking is free and available so that's always a plus. They also have vegetarian options! You can either order a hot entree (ramen or hibachi) or go around to the side to order a poke rice bowl, sushi burrito or salad. They have some signature items or you can make your own. If you are vegetarian, you can't get their ramen as they're all made with pork broth, but you can get their tofu hibachi, or tofu salad, sushi burrito or tofu poke bowl. I opted to build my own salad. I got the regular greens, organic tofu, mango, radish, sweet onion, pickled ginger, kale, cucumbers and their signature Hawaiian Poke sauce (which they told me was vegetarian and without fish). You can keep the standard two scoops of protein for $10, or add another $2 to make it three scoops of protein for more GAINZ - haha. My salad was really good!! It was crisp, the vegetables and fruit fresh, the tofu also looked fresh (which might sound weird, but believe me, that's a thing). My friends ordered various Poke bowls and it seems the Tuna and the Rainbow bowls were the popular items amongst our group. I'd like to go back and try one of their hibachi bowls next time! Quickly looking around, looks like lot of the customers were eating poke. Ordering is simple, think of Subway, Jimmy Johns, etc. You tell them what you want and they will make it for you, you can also customize your order, then you walk over to the register and pay. I had already decided what I wanted, so I went with the following: - Tuna Lover Poke - Pork Ramen Tune Lover Poke - you get two kinds of tuna, spicy tuna and fresh tuna with veggies on top of sushi rice. You get a choice of white or brown, I went with white. The dish came out quick, less than 2 minutes. Additional sauces are self-serve, with drinks, chopsticks, etc. Spicy Tuna was not spicy at all, the onion crisp was nice feature as it gave that crunch factor with each bite. The rice is also seasoned with vinegar and after trying each items separately, I mixed them like Bibimbop, added more spicy mayo and ended up eating the whole thing. If you like Hoe-deopbap (Raw Fish BiBimBop), then you'll like poke... but don't expect to have gochujang (yeah, it'd be nice if they did, but again, this is poke restaurant). I would definitely order this again. Pork Ramen - this is their version of Tonkotsu Ramen. In my order, I got two slices of fish cake, 3 slices of pork belly (Chasu), egg, nori and sliced mushroom... it was missing bamboo shots and the pork belly was cold. Broth - it lacked that deep bone taste Tonkotsu is known for, but it wasn't bad, you definitely tasted the MSG in the broth. For whatever reason, the broth tasted more on the instant side... ramen doesn't come with lot of broth and the size of the bowl is perfect for one person. Pork Belly - outside of it being served cold, it was good. I hope they find a way to serve the pork belly hot... Looking forward to next visit, will have to try their rainbow bowl and seafood ramen. I missed my freeway exit, scrambled to turn around and found this place by chance. Truly, the stars aligned because the universe knew I was STARVING. The baby was sleeping in the car seat... and I said, yes. We're going to do this... This poke stop (hehe...see what I did there?) has ramen and custom poke bowls. I ordered a pork ramen and garnished with seaweed, braised pork belly, egg, bamboo shoots(?) and scallions. Most ramen places I've been to offer bland watery soup. But Poke Fish has a creamy, almost even milky broth. I ate the whole bowl and drank every drop of soup! My only suggestion is to make sure the pork was warmed or crispy, because mine was slightly cold. Maybe it's their style but if I wanted something a bit chilled, I wouldn't have ordered ramen. So, the ramen was so tasty, that I called up some friends from the area since the baby was still asleep in the stroller... to see if they wanted to stop in to try it. At that time, I ordered again... I mean come on. I'm out of the area? Why not. They were happy to stop in, we all ordered our own customized poke bowls and were extremely satisfied. All the bowls were empty. Licked clean almost. This was my first time here and I got take out. It was about 8pm and I went with my boyfriend that there was no wait. He recommended this place to me so we went. It's kind of like an Asian fusion chipotle style place - unlimited toppings and meat of your choice. I got a build your own bowl. I had chicken and shrimp as my protein, 2 toppings on the side, and a few others in my bowl. The food overall was pretty good! I wouldn't rave over it, but I did enjoy it. What really ticked me off was the amount of toppings they put in your bowl. I'm a fairly picky eater so I don't typically get many toppings. I got the corn and tomatoes on the side and they gave me two tomatoes. I repeat, TWO TOMATOES. I asked if I could have more as for I don't usually don't get many ingredients and they refused. Two tomatoes in a whole bowl? And for $10 they give me this little when it's supposedly "unlimited" toppings.. give me a break. Maybe I'm being dramatic, but this really ticked me off. Since my first review way back when it opened, this has become one of my favorite places to satisfy a craving of raw fish! Not just that, but their hibachi bowls are pretty good as well, especially the chicken one. I'm pleased to announce that they seem to have begun serving their poke bowls in non-disposable bowls when you eat in! Hibachi bowls still seem to be served in single-use packaging though, and utensils and cups remain single-use. I would love it if they shifted more of their flatware and silverware to non-disposable versions, because who wants to generate a thousand year old piece of trash each meal? I believe that they've been gradually increasing the rice servings because the bowls are getting tougher to finish. By the way, I would skip the ramen here. I've tried it twice and it did not impress me. Takoyaki balls were decent (for the area) but still a little soggy. Also tried the gyoza before but it wasn't particularly impressive. Good place to get a build your own poke bowl around this area. I'd recommend the marinated or spicy flavor for the fish instead of the original flavor, since the original flavor is simply plain and tastes super blend. The quality of the salmon is above average but the tuna is very mediocre. The texture of the tuna is chewy like you're eating some three-day-old meat. Good thing is: The vegetables and other condiments/sauces are free except the avocado, and all the condiments are all very fresh. There are plenty of choices to choose from as well. I'd recommend the mushroom and seaweed salad, they taste really refreshing and adds such a good flavor to the poke bowl. The portion size is fair considering the price. Poke Fish has been a go to for curbside pick up during covid. They have an efficient and user-friendly website set up to facilitate take out. I usually call when I get there and someone comes out with my order so I don't have to go indoors. The website also remembers your card info so you don't have to punch it in every time you make an order. You can ask the staff for individually wrapped chopsticks to avoid surface transfer of covid. My favorite sauces here are a mix of eel sauce and house special. So good!! It adds an extra punch of umami flavor to your food. Love it here. Really, really good poke. I'm from California and I tend to assume that the best poke comes from states closer to the coast, but Poke Fish definitely challenges that. The fish is fresh, lots of options, and is really tasty for a fair price. I think their marinade is maybe a tad too sweet, but that's just personal preference. Two things that really stood out for me. One time I came in and they told me to wait a few minutes as they had just finished making a new batch of rice and it was too hot. Most places would not care at all and just try and churn out the bowls and the hot rice would cook the fish a bit. Them asking me to wait shows they really care about you having the best poke even if it hurts their margins a tiny bit. Second is that the fish is cut well - a lot of poke places have good fish, but they cut pretty haphazardly. The fish here is cubed nicely as isn't mashed or messed with. I do not plan to get poke anywhere but here for the foreseeable future. read more
