The atmosphere is simple and unpretentious, but comfortable--and the food is where Aji Ten really shines. Their ramen is terrific. The shoyu broth is deep, savory, and full of flavor, while the noodles have just the right texture and consistency. I also really appreciate how gracious they are about requests or changes to the ramen toppings. They always seem happy to make your meal exactly the way you enjoy it. One of my absolute favorite dishes is the chicken katsudon. It has such a comforting, authentic flavor. The chicken is incredibly tender, perfectly cooked, and delicious, and the eggs that blanket the chicken and rice are cooked beautifully--soft, savory, and full of flavor. A little sprinkle of furikake over the top finishes it off perfectly. This is one of those dishes I find myself craving! We also ordered the ebi shumai, or shrimp shumai, and it was cooked just right. The dumplings were plump and tender with a delicate shrimp flavor--simple, flavorful, and very satisfying. We rounded everything out with a California roll and cucumber roll. Both were fresh, uncomplicated, and delicious. Aji Ten has been part of my regular restaurant rotation for years, and I still look forward to coming back. There is something to be said for a restaurant that remains consistently good and welcoming year after year. It truly is a hidden gem, and they simply do so many things right.

It is located on Ford Rd, with IKEA, Carvel, and Buffalo Wild Wings serving as landmarks. The restaurant is dark, which always makes me a bit uneasy. Some chefs/owners may claim that it sets a mood, but I feel that it hides dirt and makes it challenging to discern ingredients. I quickly reviewed the menu and then carefully read all the ingredients to ensure that nothing I ordered contained salmon (an unfortunate allergy) and cream cheese. The latter because, after many, many attempts, I just don't like that ingredient in sushi rolls. I ordered the Tiger and Sunflower rolls. The Tiger roll starts with shrimp tempura wrapped with cucumber strips, crab stick, and eel, topped with more shrimp, avocado, and eel sauce. I also ordered the Sunflower roll and requested that the salmon be removed. It contained a mosaic of fish: white fish, tuna, yellowtail, escolar, (cooked) shrimp, crab stick, as well as avocado, and tamago. So very pretty. The Sunflower roll was, sadly, very bland. I don't think it was because of the missing salmon. I did like the Tiger roll, though. The mackerel sashimi and tamago also hit the spot, as they always do. Service was lovely. The servers were friendly and responsive. They quickly got take-out orders for the steady stream of customers.

I ordered shrimp lovers sushi and it was some of the best I have ever had. Tightly rolled so you could be using chopsticks and still eat each piece in 2 bites. I told half home and it was just the same the next day. You can taste the quality ingredients. They have fountain Coke products which was worth that extra star to take it to 5 stars. The service was friendly and quick. Since my way home from work takes me near 3 evenings a week, I will be back. I took a menu to keep in my car. Just north of 6 Mile on the right side of Haggerty with good parking.

I really like online ordering because if I'm busy, it's convenient enough to place an order ahead. Their prices are very inexpensive. I got the chicken hibachi for like 14$. It came with veggies, white rice, noodles and soup. The chicken was very well seasoned. The soup was my favorite part. Just wish they added more of the fried onions.
