Made a delivery order through door dash. Was highly disappointed. I've gotten poke at other restaurants before, so I knew what I should have received. Been coming here off and on for 2 years. It's a great place for poke bowls. The workers here were so friendly and always had a smile on their faces. They have since changed workers and now they are not friendly. They talk to low under their masks. Seem to get irritated when your telling them what you want. So happy there's finally a Poke Loa location on the north shore! I like sushi, but most typical sushi rolls perpetuate the avocado plague. Poke Loa gives me the option to get exactly what I want, and to leave out what I don't want (AKA avocado). The amount of fruit/vegetables you end up getting means this probably qualifies as a healthy meal too, possibly even more so than normal sushi rolls. read more

We ordered delivery. My husbands ramen bowl was piping hot, but my Thai soup was room temperature. I reheated it and the flavor was pretty good. We had an order of pork stuffed sticky buns that had obviously been microwaved- chewy with hard sections from nuking. We ordered through asap, where the restaurant name said Ramen NOLA. The food arrived in a Poke Loa bag and now I see the place has the same address and basically same menu. A bit confusing. read more

Brought my boyfriend in yesterday! He was amazed at the selection and was stoked that every time we come back he can get something different with ALL THE TOPPINGS....*crying laughing*. Got two bowls and one was perfect, but the other had rubbery undercooked rice noodles, a cm of ponzu liquid at the bottom and rancid sesame seeds (if you've ever had one you know what it tastes like). The food is always so fresh and plenty of protein options, the zoodles are fun if you want to avoid rice, the toppings are great and so many textures to choose from - the place is always so clean but even better is the customer service - always so friendly! I always get a kombucha - they have so many bottled drink options and fountain and also their agua frescas. And delicious homemade cookies! Every single thing is so good. read more

I never tried Poke until the Mandeville location opened. I love it! I used to eat sushi on a weekly basis but now I head to Poke Loa at least once at week. Can't lie - sometimes twice a week! The fish is always super fresh and they have so many veggie options. I'm not a big rice fan so being able to get my meal over a bed of field greens is the perfect (and healthy) solution. If you don't eat raw fish, I suggest the shrimp. That's how I got my husband hooked and now he's into full on sashimi tuna and salmon. Every single employee I've encountered has been very friendly and helpful. David goes out of his way to make you laugh and enjoy your experience there. He always makes my day better. Thomas is super nice and knows how to throw a great Poke bowl together. The restaurant is always very clean and the service is quick. If you haven't given this place a try - go now! There are no places like this on the Northshore and my wife and I are officially regulars frequenting twice a week most weeks. I have eaten here several times, the selection is good but everything tastes sort of the same, not a lot of flavor. The atmosphere is a little sterile and not very inviting. The prices are very high, especially since the quality is not very good. I only ate here because I am new to the area and didn't realize there was another poke place around the other side of the building! Since we are limited on the north shore this isn't terrible but LA Poke and Sushi is so much better!!! Definitely not as fresh of fish, the snowcrab wasn't as tender or flavorful, and the mango was clearly frozen and thawed... The food is undisputedly amazing, but their staff goes above and beyond. I was in this evening for dinner and after I got my food and returned to my car, I realized my 8 month old beagle had rolled down the window and escaped! I was absolutely devastated and thought I would never find her again. The PokeLoa team led by Kevin made sure all the customers were cared for and one stayed back while Kevin and one other helped me search the surrounding area and parking lot... Kevin helped me until the very end and even ended up being the one to find Olive and take her from another Good Samaritan that had picked her up (it was the third person to have picked her and almost lose her).
