My boyfriend and I just saw this place had recently opened and as fans of sushi we knew its was something we'd have to try. While they do not serve sushi rolls, what they have are the ingredients of sushi but in a cafeteria style setting (similar to Chipotle) where you choose the ingredients to make a Pokè bowl. You get to pick from so many options of proteins, add ins, and toppings. It's totally fresh, tasty, and completely worth it's price point. The restaurant is very clean and modern. The staff is friendly, and they will gladly answer any questions you have. Amazing bowls. Selection ranging from 'make your own' poké, habachi, and ramen options. I ordered Miso Ramen, and my friend ordered the 'make your own', huuuuuge selection for the 'make your own'. Our suggestion for poké is make sure the flavors correspond and you're not just chosing things you enjoy separate from one another. As for the Miso, every drop was delicious and I wouldn't change a single thing about it. Balanced flavors, ingredients, and was piping hot. The restaurant itself is a hole in the wall type, sandwiched next to a Panera and another store off the main row. Well worth seeking it out. Interior was also beautiful. Very clean, full of natural light and cute little table accents (pictured). Background music wasn't too noisy or distracting and all of the staff went above and beyond to be quick, friendly, and helpful. I didn't know what I was doing and the man behind the counter was incredibly helpful and even let me taste some of the sauces to ensure I would love what I ordered. I am obsessed with my bowl variation I get. They also have endless options for a vegan plant based diet. My bowl consisted of rice, tofu, edamame, tomatoes, avocado, quinoa puffs, onions, poke sauce, and some other fruits!!! The servings are HUGE! They also have a punchcard to get a free bowl later. My bowl was delicious however I believe excellent customer service completes the dining experience. The atmosphere is clean and vibrant. Since the young man serving me left a lot to be desired (service wise), and seemed a little aggravated that I couldn't quickly decide which items I wanted (Yeah?!?!--there's tons to choose from)...I gave them 4 out of 5 stars. The server was very nonchalant and not once suggested that I use the stack of menu (build your bowl order) cards first, to choose my bowl contents. Who knew??? Had he done so, it would have helped me (help him-get me out of his line quicker). His emotionless face aggravated me probably just as much as my indecisiveness aggravated him. So, anyway--I had been anxiously waiting to try my first poke bowl and I am not disappointed (by the food). The bowl/food makes up for the mediocre service. Have eaten here several times and it is nice having something different. The food is very fresh and healthy and you get to pick your toppings and sauce. If you have never had Hawaiian Poke this is the place to try it. It's basically fresh vegetables, sauces and sushi mixed in a bowl with a choice of rice, salad, or noodles. All of it done in a Subway 'choose your ingredients' manner. This place does an excellent job with the concept. Don't be daunted by the plethora of choices. Even if you keep it simple, the freshness and taste will stand out. The preparers will help you out by explaining what each ingredient is and what it tastes like. The staff are super friendly! My suggestion is ask for a taste of the sauce you pick prior to committing to it. They'll give you a little bit in a cup with a cucumber to taste test. Some of the sauces can be very spicy! My current favorite is a mix of the spicy tuna and regular tuna with veggies over noodles with the Umami Sauce. It has a lot of flavor without the heat. I highly recommend this restaurant. read more
