San Francisco is not an island but anything past the city limits is just the Bay and not San Francisco. You can get food and dishes from restaurants which serves cuisine from islands around the world like Indonesia, United Kingdom, Cuba, Philippines, Taiwan, Puerto Rico, Jamaica , Ireland, and Malaysia in San Francisco. One island food which is one of my favorites is from Hawaii in the USA (my favorite country). One dish which is good to casually eat in SF is Poke. Although there are lot of places to grab Poke in San Francisco, I enjoy going to Poke Origin when I am at the Sunset Strip in San Francisco on Irving street. On a 2026 stroll in the Inner Sunset of the Sunset of San Francisco there is a place which crab season and seafood season is year round all four seasons .Inside Poke Origin you can pick up a paper sheet and pencil in your order with a #2 pencil ( eraser included) like you are taking a multiple choice test. You can pick your protein , sauce, and toppings for your poke bowl. I had the five protein poke bowl with crab, salmon ,scallops , tuna and shrimp. I added the spicy aioli and it was so tasty. There is limited seating inside but you can always take it to go and enjoy it inside Golden Gate Park in the city of San Francisco. Pencil and paper is how you order inside without a "digital screen"you can select" between" the crab, salmon , tuna and scallops, and even roast beef for your "protein" and for your base you can pick rice , kelp noodles, or mixed "green " Then you can get saucy and add sauces like sesame aioli, unagi, kimchee and "honey avocado" and top it off with "tamago" and "massago" and wash it down with ITO EN Oi Ocha Green Tea by the "bottle" read more

Tldr: service was inefficient, fish was warm from the hot rice, it's pricey and bowls have less ingredients than other places Service: We ordered 3 bowls and the party after us ordered 2 bowls. We waited for so long after the guy made our 3 bowls with our bowls just sitting there since he went to make the other 2 even though he knew we ordered the first 3. Then he stopped in the middle to take the papers of people even after the person after us. Finally when all 5 were done, he came to check out our order. Price: For $16.99, our bowl wasn't filled, and there was a lot more rice with less protein. I'd much rather pay the same price for a much larger bowl at Truffle Poke. Quality: We could tell when he scooped the rice that it was steaming hot. This resulted in the rice "cooking" the fish and everything in the bowl. The fish turned whitish from the warmth and the ingredients I got also became warm. The bottom of the paper bag was so hot from the bowl, I had to hold it at the top. I've been here before and have always enjoyed it, so when a serious poke craving hit, this was my first stop. I ordered a large bowl with double salmon, spicy tuna, kale, and all the fixings -- basically my dream bowl on paper. Unfortunately, this visit didn't quite hit the way it usually does. Something felt off with the quality -- the fish didn't taste as fresh as I remembered, and the overall bowl just didn't come together the way it has in the past. It's hard to put my finger on exactly what was different, but when you're really craving poke and it doesn't satisfy that craving, you notice. This is for a GrubHub/takeout experience. Staff seem friendly because I had to call to ask for clarification on what a combo deal was and they were very helpful. They drew on the take out bag which I thought was just adorable. Food was very good, fresh and had great flavor. My favorite was the scallop, but the tuna and escolar were also good. Accidentally added tamago instead of tobiko, my bad but the tamago was still good even though on the sweet side. Quantity for cost was very good. I had been hanging in the Inner Sunset area, which is one of my favorite areas in the city, and was looking for a nearby Poke place. When I came here, it was still take out only, no indoor dining yet. I went with all salmon with a spring mix base, with all the fixins. I did appreciate that they were generous with the salmon and ginger, most poke places I have to ask for extra ginger. Came here w/ my friends when craving poke and it def hit the spot. The surrounding area is nice and the inside is clean w/ seating but there's also places to stand outside well ona nice day. The poke is the cheapest I've ever had in the bay, $13.99 for 3 scoops of protein? Pretty lit. The fish is pretty good quality as well. Some require $2 upgrades as well as some of the toppings (ie a lil bit of tamago for $0.75 and avocado $1.25) However, if you don't pay the upgrades there are still plenty of other options to fill out your bowl. I will say, some of the reviews on here say that they give you TONS of protein but I wouldn't agree, it's a standard amount but still definitely enough to fill you up. The teriyaki chicken does have teriyaki sauce on it but it seems like it might have been poached or just cooked on a medium high griddle. And they didn't really put any seasoning on it, so underneath the cucumber, edamame, and corn it's just very flavorless. The kimchee is good. They have interesting protein options but those are extra so we didn't try any. I would recommend having sauces on the side so that you can control how saturated your bowl gets. There are lots of varieties for toppings. Lastly for people who don't want raw seafood, they have two cooked options. Service was great. They're not accepting apply pay currently. Some of their fish looked a little dry but we didn't order those. All of our bowls were tasty but nothing amazing stood out so I would rate this average. My large bowl with 5 proteins was a good portion but it's also almost $15 so you kinda get what you pay for. Great poke place in Inner Sunset! Ordering can be done on little slips of paper near the front door. Lots of options that go into your poke bowl without paying extra. There are more premium items (avocado of course) that can add an extra $1-2 to the order but generally even without adding the premium items, there are a lot of ingredients to pick. In terms of price I would say poke bowls have gone up but that's probably due to the price of ingredients going up. My last order here was just shy of $20 as I added 2 premium items. Out of the many options here in Inner Sunset, this place is a great lunch or dinner place if you need something to go and also something light but satisfying. The Street taco shop next door sells their burrito for $18. So take your pick on what type of calories you want. Whenever I am in the Sunset area, this is one of my top choices, specially when I want to eat a bit healthier/less greasy. I always get salmon here; it tastes fresh and buttery. I have never had a bad experience myself with their poke. I get 3 scoops of salmon, 1 scoop octopus, and the last scoop varies depending on my mood. I love the kelp noodles as an option for low carb, though I would recommend asking for some sauce on it, otherwise there is no flavor. The large bowl is enough for 2 people to share, imo. Love the various toppings; I do miss when they offered jellyfish as topping and also nachos for the base. Hope they bring them back! Service is also very fast. While me and another customer waited, we were never greeted nor asked what we needed help with, the staff just continued to prep more and more bowls even though 2 or 3 were already packed and ready. Then on of the staff went to the back to prepare I think sauce while we waited more. When he came back out he just continued to prep more bowls. I checked my phone it was already going to pass my pickup time frame so I approached the counter and no one even acknowledged that I was trying to get their attention. After standing by the pickup counter for 2 mins the employee finally asked what I needed. I told him which app I ordered from and he picked up a bowl that was already prepared the whole time before I even came into the store. I'm not sure if they have an option to alert customers on apps when orders are ready, but I was never notified of a ready order. There was only one other person in the store with me so they couldn't have had a lot of initial orders to prioritize at the time. I can understand and can be patient if they were really busy but they didn't even acknowledge us or apologize for making us wait. Their food tasted pretty decent and they allow a lot of different toppings without extra charge. However, out of the three of my scoops, they did not include my tofu. I thought maybe it was under my toppings but I did not see a single cube. The rice also was labelled as "sushi white rice" but it only tasted like regular steamed rice.
