Anyway, I had a small bowl with spicy ahi tuna and spicy salmon, a bunch of toppings, and miso aioli with citrus ponzu.. Now, I want to go here every day because it was SO GOOD. The fish options were so soft and tender, literally melting in your mouth. The seaweed and crab salads weren't super overpowering in flavor or smell either. They were perfect. Poke is an expensive commodity nowadays and Poke Parlor is no exception. I paid $20+ for this large poke bowl but it was HEFTY. I was able to get three kinds of fish and a number of toppings. The fish tasted fresh but due to it being a bit swamped in sauce, I was a little bummed I didn't get to taste the fresh seafood as much. For $20+ I do think the portion was reasonable (enough to share with a friend and feel full). Solid spot for a good poke bowl. My only issue was we spent our entire lunch hour waiting in line. There were maybe 6-8 people in line, and it took 40 minutes to get to the front to order. There were two guys working the front, and one would occasionally go to the back to refill the ingredients. My overall rating is 3.5/5 based on the Rainbow Bowl and California sushirito. The positives included: - Easy to order online - Easy to pick up and it was ready on time - The staff were friendly and efficient - The interior of the store was clean and had a nice design - The portion size was good for lunch - Overall, most of the ingredients seemed pretty fresh and the bowl was prepared pretty carefully The reasons for why my overall rating was not higher included: - Even though the portion size was decent, the price point was higher than for other places and given the other comments below - The texture of the tuna, yellowtail and salmon was good but really, none of the fish types had much flavor which is tough given it is supposed to be the star of the dish and their statement that they only use "sashimi grade" seafood - For my taste, the house made sauces didn't live up flavor-wise to what I expected - The California sushirito was ok with decent rice texture and standard fillings, but it wasn't optimally wrapped so that fillings were coming out, and you also couldn't adjust it to not include the unagi sauce which felt out of place in this sushirito - It would be great to offer a high-quality soy sauce or tamari option I was really hoping that this place would deliver especially given they also state they are focused on sustainably sourced ingredients and locally-produced ingredients as well. OK, I'm not a Poke Bowl purist. I have no problem with proteins and toppings being together. I don't eat seafood so Poke for me has historically been, Tofu with rice and some other stuff. However, I love coming here and getting the veggie bowl for a lot of reasons. I had ordered salad as my base so I suspect the lettuce wasn't properly washed. I ended up throwing it away because I did not feel comfortable eating it. There isn't really parking, so you would have to street park or walk. They had a station for online order pickup, so that is an option as well. I found Poke Parlor through another hobby of mine. Went in for a pick up and then saw all the yummy food and the menu and my daughter and I had to try it. I ordered the parlor signature Salmon Supreme bowl with white rice. The salmon was delicious. It was very fresh tasting and it paired so well with everything else in the bowl. I was thrilled with how the crab salad tasted also. It complimented the bowl perfectly. All the other additions to the bowl kept my taste buds very happy. It was very filling for me and I couldn't finish my whole bowl so I brought the rest home and it was still delicious the next day. My daughter ordered a make your own bowl with salmon. She got everything in it that she wanted. After seeing and tasting the Salmon Supreme bowl though, she said that she wants to get that next time. We also opted to try one of their fruit teas. We chose the Mango/strawberry with boba. I am usually not a huge tea drinker but I was very happy with this tea. Also the boba was perfect! The texture was just how I like the boba. Perfectly chewy. The inside is very clean and spacious. I always check out how the restaurant looks whenever I am eating raw fish as I just don't want to get sick. This passed my test. Employees were all very nice and patient. Since I visited during covid times, this facility does practice covid safety procedures. The day I went I found parking very easy on the (metered) street. There is also a park across the street so we took our bowls and ate them there. It made for a very nice afternoon. It's now been a week since I've been there and I am dying to go back. We got hungry while hanging out at Lake Merritt so we walked over here to pick up some poke bowls for lunch. The store front is a little hard to notice, but the location is very convenient! I got salmon and tuna in my custom poke bowl, along with sushi rice, miso aioli sauce, pickled ginger, green onions, crab salad, seaweed salad, edamame, red cabbage, cucumber, masago, furikake. It was a really good portion for the price and it was very tasty and filling. The ingredients all tasted fresh. The miso aioli was pretty good and had a nice mild creamy flavor. They had a lot of other interesting sauce options and I'm excited to try a different one next time I come here. My bf also got a bowl with sushi rice, tuna and salmon, a bunch of toppings I can't recall, and he got the sriracha aioli. He said it was actually a bit too spicy for him and usually he really likes sriracha aioli, but he acknowledged that may be his fault for adding red onions which kinda amplified the flavor sensations. He still liked the bowl though. We both ate about 2/3 of our bowls and were satisfied, then ate the rest at home. The inside looked very clean, and the employee was wearing a mask and wore clean gloves. I order from here at least once a week. Today, I order my usual salmon with extra rice and veggies and siracha aoli sauce in the sushi burrito . Burrito was small with rice on half the seaweed wrap. I ask the girl who made it if she added extra rice to which she replied yes. Remember, I order the same burrito every week. So, I speak to the manager and it's remade. Looks more like the one I usually get. I get back to work, begin to eat the remade burrito and to my disappointment, there is NO siracha aoli sauce. So, I call the manager and stated that he took the previous ticket and forgot to put siracha sauce in. He says, can I give it to you on the side? They're skimpy with the ingredients. Poke parlor doesn't require you to fill out a form and will let you build your own poke bowl. Love that! But the bowl I just picked up was skimpy as hell. I ordered a large which comes with four different types of protein. The first scoop she gave me literally had two pieces of fish in it. When I asked her if that was normal, she gave me a slight attitude and told me that if I wanted more it would cost more. The other three scoops weren't much heavier.
