    Large Build Your Own Bowl
    Aileen F.

I was looking for a poke place close to my hotel during my trip to Oakland. Of course, I went to Yelp for my search and found Poke Parlor. Since it was close to their closing time, I didn't have time to take photos of the place. From what I recall, it was clean and sparsely decorated. There was only one employee manning the counter so I had to wait until he finished the orders of the folks ahead of me and an online order. I got the large bowl with 4 protein options. Overall, it was good but I've had better poke.

I came here on a Saturday afternoon, and from the outside, it looked like it might be closed. This location is near Lake Merritt, and it's set up to go or to eat outside as there is parklet type area right outside. Or you could walk to nearby Snow Park, which has plenty of benches. My poke bowl was a little light on the poke, but it tasted fine. Nothing really stood out though. The service was ok, and given the location, I will be coming here again!!

Small Build Your Own Bowl with spicy tuna
    Carlos S.

A Poke place walking distance from work. Portions are great for the small build a bowl. The spicy tuna with sriracha aioli is a must if you want some heat and balance with cucumbers and crab salad. Ordered online and I believe it was made quick but GrubHub was slow to update status. No line or customers when I arrived, but also sad because there is less foot traffic for the small businesses around here.

Rainbow Bowl - a mixed experience with some good ingredients but others that missed the mark
    Alan G.

Being a huge fan of poke (and eaten plenty in Hawaii) and because this restaurant being walking distance from work, I wanted to give it a try after reading prior reviews. My overall rating is 3.5/5 based on the Rainbow Bowl and California sushirito. The positives included: - Easy to order online - Easy to pick up and it was ready on time - The staff were friendly and efficient - The interior of the store was clean and had a nice design - The portion size was good for lunch - Overall, most of the ingredients seemed pretty fresh and the bowl was prepared pretty carefully The reasons for why my overall rating was not higher included: - Even though the portion size was decent, the price point was higher than for other places and given the other comments below - The texture of the tuna, yellowtail and salmon was good but really, none of the fish types had much flavor which is tough given it is supposed to be the star of the dish and their statement that they only use "sashimi grade" seafood - For my taste, the house made sauces didn't live up flavor-wise to what I expected - The California sushirito was ok with decent rice texture and standard fillings, but it wasn't optimally wrapped so that fillings were coming out, and you also couldn't adjust it to not include the unagi sauce which felt out of place in this sushirito - It would be great to offer a high-quality soy sauce or tamari option I was really hoping that this place would deliver especially given they also state they are focused on sustainably sourced ingredients and locally-produced ingredients as well. Will given them another chance and hope the constructive feedback is helpful in their efforts to be a top lunch option in the area.

Medium Build your Own Bowl,-w/ Salmon, Tuna, Crab, on veggie base
    Steve D.

The other day, I got a really delightful Poke Bowl from this restaurant. It was the Medium Build-your -own-Bowl menu option. I had it with Spicy Crab, Salmon, and Ahi Tuna. The bowl offers unlimited veggies, toppings, and sauces. I chose mixed greens as the base. The presentation and style were great. The bowl travels well as takeout, nothing was soggy. OK, I'm not a Poke Bowl purist. I have no problem with proteins and toppings being together. I was trying out different Poke Bowl places, searching for a healthy lunch alternative to sandwiches and boring salads. Poke Parlor makes a good satisfying meal. I like the presentation and unlimited toppings, and I'll be back to try other menu choices.

Service is good prices are very reasonable. All of the seafood is very fresh they have unlimited bowl and burrito menu but they like to make your own burritos which is a very cool deal for an extra dollar and it's still more affordable than most of the chain Hope you places in the area. It's very authentically seasoned and looking forward to coming back since my office is nearby. Hoping to get a returning members program with discount I tried the spicy salmon and a spicy crab burritos and they are very good.

Bug in my poke (on the leaf in front)
    Bianca B.

I've been here a few times and always had good experiences! But sadly today I ordered via yelp for pickup and came home to find a bug in my poke. I had ordered salad as my base so I suspect the lettuce wasn't properly washed. I ended up throwing it away because I did not feel comfortable eating it. I'm not sure that I will come back, but if you decide to come here be sure to double check your food especially if you get the lettuce.

Poke Parlor is a great new Poke option by the Lake in Oakland, so naturally my wife and I were excited to try their food! We'd been craving Poke for months, so when this showed up we decided to jump on a order in between these never ending Zoom meetings! We ordered lunch on one of the delivery platforms, and about 30 minutes later we were demolishing some Poke/chicken bowls! My wife ordered a build-a-bowl with salmon and spicy tuna while I ordered a fried chicken bowl. We both really liked our bowls, the salmon and spicy tuna bowl was so fresh and packed with flavors. You can choose your own fish or other protein options with several sauces to add as well. The chicken bowl had very crunchy chicken with red cabbage, miso sauce, and lots of pickled ginger. You can choose between sushi rice, brown rice, tortilla chips, and greens to create many bowl combinations. We will order again, thank you Poke Parlor for a new Poke option in Oakland! You can never have too many Poke options in your life.

    Salmon supreme

I've been picking up lunch here the past few weeks and this is now my official poke spot! My favorite is the salmon supreme bowl as I am a huge salmon sashimi lover. The ingredients are fresh and high-quality. They also don't skimp on the portions -- they really fill up your bowls! Service is nice and the place is clean. They also are strategically located near Snow Park and Lake Merrit. So this is the perfect spot to pick up some chill food on a warm day and picnic by the park/lake.

This place is kind of a hidden gem. You probably wouldn't see it unless you worked near the area and/or are walking by. I've walked by here so many times but never took the chance to go in until today, and let me tell you how glad I am that I did today! I forgot the exact name of my order- crispy chicken bowl I believe with half greens and half white rice. They made it fresh, only having to wait ~10 minutes. I will definitely be coming back here to try more items on the menu!!

BYOB bowl with FRESH salmon, shrimp, pineapple, edamame, habanero sauce, house shoyu, and unagi !
    Alex M.

This place has me keep coming, it's conveniently located next to my office and as I'm often short in time, I appreciate how efficient the staff is here in getting people in and out. The staff are all very knowledgeable and friendly. I got the BYOB (build your own bowl) and one thing I lien is that they have so many ingredients that you really can't get tired of this place because you can mix and match a wide variety of sauces, bases, proteins, and toppings. There crispy chicken bowls are also delicious and the chicken is always juicy, tender and crispy. This is a good option for those who don't want raw fish, which by the way is delicious. The salmon is one if my favorites and they cut the entire fish in the store, and it really shows in the freshness of the fish ! My BYOB bowl had FRESH salmon, shrimp, pineapple, edamame, habanero sauce, house shoyu, and unagi ! Also got carrots to be healthy (they cut whole fresh carrots every day !) I got white rice however they also have brown rice and mix green and cucumber noodles for those on low carb/keto They have limited outdoor seating and there's also lake Merritt right down the street. The inside is very clean and well kept, and they also have delicious teas and other drinks, which make it a great catering option for the many offices surrounding this places will be back and highly recommended !

Awesome little spot right by the lake! I go here whenever I'm in the area and looking for a quick bite. The seafood is fresh and they really do pack the bowl, which is super important when poke these days cost an arm and a leg! As for my order, I usually go with the medium (3 scoops) and it cost about $16 with tax. Would definitely recommend getting the tuna, spicy salmon and albacore with the house shoyu, house chili and siracha ailoi sauce! It's my favorite combo and is the perfect blend between sweet, spicy and sour! Only downside is that there isn't a dedicated parking lot so you'll have to park on the street but the area is usually pretty empty, so it shouldn't be a problem. Oh and the service here is great as well! Quick and efficient - which is exactly what I like! :)

I went here for lunch right when they opened on a Wednesday. The bowl was a great option. Tasted the fresh fish and the add-on were great. The rice did not taste fresh. Seem like it was day old rice left on warm. I would get the salad option next time.

The rolls are visually appealing and very appetizing. They held together nicely, although the spicy scallop roll was falling apart - however I do think scallop is trickier to work with so I didn't mind it. The bento boxes offered a great quantity of food for the price, so it was worth it! What stood out to me was the crisp texture of the tempura and katsu - only callout here is that the katsu was cut into thinner slices which you might not prefer if you like thicker slices. Overall, I'm glad I found this gem and I'm looking forward to a future visit!

Host thought it was a mistake and completely removed me from the wait list and seated other parties that came in after me. Thoroughly confused - she didn't even call my name to confirm so I had to go up to her and ask. No apology either. Was seated at the counter where solo diners usually sit. Service was non existent. Server came up to me and ask "what would you like to order?" I've never been there before. No "hi my name is ... I'll be your server" nada. They're just a machine - people in people out. The ramen - broth was fine. The squiggly noodles aren't my favorite. Expected to have kernel corn but had corn ribs instead (good thing I'm good with chopsticks!) The charshu was just okay. Enoki topping was just ... aight. The nice touch was that they didn't put it in the ramen and served it on the side to preserve its crunchiness because it definitely needed the texture! It was loud, busy, and nothing spectacular about the dining scene here. $55 dollars later (ramen, 2 additional toppings, one box of sake) ... I sadly don't think it was worth it.
