All around awful!!! 1, Music was WAY too loud, couldn't hear anything that was being said from behind the counter. 2, The servers were very rude and rushing me to order even tho it wasn't busy. The server who helped me was snappy and rolling his eyes any time I took longer than 5 seconds to pick anything 3, The menu was so hard to read!! Add some dividers or something. Everything was squished together and I couldn't understand it. 4, The crispy garlic and onion was HARD AS ROCKS. It seriously hurt my teeth, and the amount that was thrown in was obscene. He literally put half the container of both on my bowl. 5, Barely any sauce put on, and when I asked for more, he made it seem like I was a bother. 6, Salmon did not taste fresh. Nor did the pineapple. Rice was stale. Did not even eat half of what I ordered. Everything tasted canned or stale or old. I'm incredibly disappointed considering they charged me upwards of $45. Love this place! Their quality of food is excellent, sauces are delicious, portions are huge, and prices are good. Their staff is awesome too. Everyone greets you with a smile and everyone seems genuinely happy to be there. The owners are always friendly and often work alongside their staff. Honestly the poke is just sad. The fish wasn't very fresh the 2 times I've been there. They put the poke in the worst containers the soak up all the sauce so when your done your left with a soggy box. They give you the SMALLEST portion of fish and sauce everything is just sub par. So I've been curios about this place as its on my corner, and went for lunch with my dad and his friend's mom. She mind you, is not very adventurous with food, and they were more than accommodating. They walked her through it and she was very happy with what she got. They both got the small bowl (2 proteins), and I got a medium bowl (3 proteins). Mine was salmon, ahi tuna and yellow tail. I was very pleased by the fact that it was in no way frozen when I got it. Some people have griped about it being frozen beforehand. But my guess is a little place in Van Nuys isn't going to trudge over to the fish market everyday, and destroy their cost of food to rental amount ratio. It's not the nicest area, but it's not cheap (I live a few minutes away walking). I got almost every side/mix in, but just the spicy mayo and sesame sauce, with a little soy sauce on the white rice. I also split the rice with kale, which was a great choice. But I'll probably get brown rice next time to compare. All in all, I was very happy with my lunch. My only somewhat negative comments would be that the to-go box was a little annoying; would've preferred a bowl for dining in. And I only got the medium. Next time I'll be getting a large with extra protein scoops. I know it's not necessarily sushi grade meat, but I very much enjoyed every last bit, and had none leftover. I'll definitely be going back more than once. read more

I was out West visiting some family and I was advised to try Poke. I have to say I had no idea what I was getting into at the time, but now I crave it frequently back home! And this place rocks! The restaurant was super clean and had a very "fresh" feeling atmosphere. The few times I went there, there was always something interesting and related to food playing on the television which I absolutely loved while I enjoyed my food. The staff was extremely helpful and knew their product well. They walked me through the process and made me feel at home every time. All these things are great, but THE FOOD was over-the-top! A nice selection of fresh seafood and additions available. They have a few add-ons that cost a little extra, but most of it was worth it to add in. I think that my three favorite things were SAUCE, SAUCE and SAUCE. One of the employees told me they make all of their sauces in-house and I have to say that the sauces set them apart from the other places around them. Flavor and atmosphere are key to a successful restaurant, and these guys have a style and passion for both. If you try Poke Rainbow, you'll be craving it in the middle of the night after a long day. read more

I've tried a lot of the poke places in and around the Valley, Orange County and Santa Monica. My gripe about this place is that I ordered a large which comes with 4 scoops of fish and it was so little compared to other places I have been to. I ordered 2 scoops of yellowtail, 1 albacore and 1 ahi tuna (which only had 4 small pieces). I ordered a mix of veggies and rice as my base. I felt that there was too much rice for the dish since they gave me two large scoops. My suggestion would be to serve the large in a medium container with less rice and add more fish to the size. They do mix the sauces into the fish which is a major plus for me. My only other complaint is that they serve the poke in a rectangular or square container which makes it a lot harder to mix everything compared to a round container. read more

Very poor management. I order from here weekly using doordash. Last few months they are making mistakes on my orders either giving me a medium when I am paying for a large, not giving any proteins at all and even had one time where there was no base added. I don't understand how it is so hard to double check what I am ordering. So I have contacted doordash during those mistakes and doordash has refunded me due to mistakes being Poke Rainbows fault. Couple weeks ago I ordered again from doordash and my dasher went to the store which he was told by the worker that he cannot make my order because his manager told him not to... I called the store right away and the worker told me that he has no idea why but he will make the order anyways and if the manager has a problem he will just deal with it. This person made a great bowl of food. Now I ordered again and received a call from the dasher and he told me that the manager refused my order because they believed I was making false refunds when these are their mistakes. Very disappointed and all I have to say you have lost a customer who has been going to Poke Rainbow for years now. I'm sorry that you cannot make sure an order is correct so you feel that refusing an order will make it better. Good luck in your ventures. To be honest y'all have been overcharging like crazy anyways. Overpriced and mistakes all the time. I will just order from the multiple poke restaurants nearby there is nothing special being offered here. Comment from owner: didn't satisfy my orders?? You guys wouldn't even complete my orders. Just 2-3 weeks ago my order was a large and I was given a medium and it was missing half the proteins. I don't request a refund as well. I report it to doordash and they are the ones who place the refund. Don't act like it was your choice to refund. Complete your orders the way it was requested then you wouldn't be losing customers and getting forced refunds. Probably try hiring people who know how to double check orders. Straight to the point since that's what this is for, I ordered a large bowl set with a soba noodle base, albacore, spicy tuna, salmon, and scallops (the large comes with 4 proteins), I also added seaweed, crab salad, cucumber, pineapple, ginger. The sauce I selected for my bowl (I was able to add 3, I'm not sure if it applies to the other sizes) were spicy mayo (great), the house sauce (couldn't really taste it), and the sweet chili sauce (very good) and finished it off with dried seaweed and sesame seeds. I will mention that I tried everything individually, the salmon was very bland, texture seemed a little tough to the bite but what can you expect from a place like this? The spicy tuna was in between "ok" and "good", the albacore was tolerable, fortunately I was hungry and didn't throw it away. Scallops were probably the only good 1 of the 4 proteins I ordered especially with the spicy mayo. Now for the additional topping, the pineapple was great (since it's pineapple), ginger was great too (because it's just good in general), the crab salad was surprisingly amazing (considering all the let downs I figured everything would be disappointing), the seaweed was great. The soba noodles texture felt about right they could have been a tide bit softer but the texture was good, when mixed the bowl is edible to say the least. read more

My only two complaints: the place is usually warm and my other gripe is when the lady prepares my bowl. She puts very limited quantities, not only of the protein but of the toppings as well.
