Been trying out new Poke spots in this general area for the past few weeks and I think this is the end of my journey. Poke Rainbow is as good as it gets for me whenever I'm out for lunch. I came in during the weekday with absolutely nobody in the store. Staff was very quiet so I had minimal interaction with them which isn't a big deal because there's only two roles to play here: one person to order, and one person to fulfill the order. Anything more and it's like a freshman mixer at college. My order consisted of a spring mix base, double albacore, ahi tuna, octopus, cucumber, jalapeno, and ponzu sauce. Everything hit the spot. And the greatest is their protein to side ratio was phenomenal! I had so much more protein left over you'd think my bowl was personally trying to bulk up! Pricing's a little expensive, but times are tough and shrinkflation is real. Thankfully it hasn't hit this place too hard...yet? This will be my go-to spot in this general area from now on. read more

I was crazing Poke and stopped into this spot and wasn't disappointed. The spot was well maintained, clean, and has a variety of Hawaiian Poke Bowls. The Poke was fresh, well crafted, and do delicious. Their sauces are full of flavors and toppings are amazing. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and attentive. Stopped by here for poke on the way home. The poke was delicious and the fish tasted decently fresh, and the portions were generous. Service was also quite polite and nice. The main gripe I had was them running out of ingredients. I ordered a bowl and ate at the restaurant; at the time, they were already out of edamame. When I finished my bowl and ordered another one to take home, they had also run out of salmon and avocado! I've rarely encountered this situation at other poke places, so I hope this isn't a regular occurrence. read more

It's been a year since this review so I thought I'd update. The food is made so thoughtfully, definitely recommend this place, and they absolutely hit the jackpot with their employee Christian! Anytime he's serving when I come in, he has a smile and friendly conversation. I spoke with another customer in line and they mentioned the same thing, they always look forward to seeing him. Employee Tyler is also very wonderful! I've had the pleasure of being served by him as well and his service is wonderful and friendly! Thank you both, keep it up! Poke Rainbow has officially taken the top spot as my absolute favorite place to get poke! The food is consistently so good and fresh every single time. What really stands out is how nice and amazingly speedy the workers are. You're in and out with incredible food in no time. Note- When ordering online, there's no option for ordering sides (step 2) which is a big part of the bowl. Ie. no crab salad, no seaweed salad option. Ordered a large Poke Bowl via online order and realized after the fact we weren't given the option to choose sides, which was a huge disappointment. read more

My favorite poke spot ! Been coming here for years now and poke rainbow has always been so reliable. The food is amazing and all the fish and veggies are so fresh you can taste it! The portions sizes here are great as well and I never feel like I'm being skimped on. The workers here are also amazing. Everyone who has served me has been great and they are so kind. Definitely a really good set of workers they have here. I also had the pleasure to be served by the owner herself. Mireya was wonderful and we talked about the place and her future plans for poke rainbow. She has great ambitions and definitely can see what she has building up here. This is a pretty good Poke spot. They are generous with theirs scoops of fish, and have a good selection of toppings. The fish is cold and fresh, and the toppings are also very fresh. It's never too busy, and they have great service with kind staff. I get a small bowl which comes with 2 scoops of fish, I add lots of the fresh veggies, and I get their #1 sauce mix which is not spicy and really good! They have several sauce mixes you can choose from, or you can make your own. I will return to this spot even considering the cons... The downside is avocado is $2 to add regardless the size bowl you get, and the prices are fairly high, high enough to include a free scoop of avocado I feel... and they don't have radish, which I love. Also, since I only get a small bowl it says I don't spend enough to get ANY points?? I guess it doesn't accumulate what you spend so I will not be able to earn stars here which is a bummer. read more

Short, sweet, and to the point. That's how this review will be and how a poke bar should be. Vibes are chill here. Not much space to eat inside so more of a takeout type of place. Service is very friendly and generous with portions. Additionally, fish tastes fresh. This is my go to spot when I need a quick post workout meal during my "cut phase." I typically order salad base with 2 scoops of spicy salmon and two scoops of tuna. I got the medium sized poke with spicy tuna as my protein and salmon. I would say that I have tried other spots where everything was more flavorful. There are plenty of sides you can add such as seaweed, cilantro, avocado, crispy onion, crispy garlic, and more. For the sauces I added the house sauce as well as the spicy mayo. I love this place but I'm giving a 3 star because almost EVERY time I go which is often they are missing some ingredient or another. Basics like edamame and cucumber should never be missing. Wow I made the mistake of coming here because now I crave it all the time. They have a good selection to choose from with a small you get 2 proteins and unlimited toppings. I went with a spicy crab mix with half and half scallops and shrimp, BOMB! They have their most popular sauce combinations too which really take your bowl to the next level. The service was great. I used to come here all the time but now the service is terrible. I go in and wait a long time because the server is extremely slow. By the time I get to the front of the line, after I and many others have waited, he lets us know that that the restaurant is out of everything (including rice which should be getting made continuously). I get it happens once in a while but now it's happened every time I've tried coming back. Never again. read more

Wow! I've been here a few times the last month or so and it is always hitting the right spot! Today in particular Christian killed it in helping me out today with my bowl! Not to sound rude, but I'm honestly not sure why this place has high ratings. Their fish did NOT look fresh. I doubled up on the salmon since it looked the most promising. White rice was mid and the side options were so minimal and honestly you can tell it's been out for hours. I was extremely disappointed. I hope they can make some improvements on presentation with quality overall. Points for friendly staff though. read more

For the price it's worth it the fish and vegetables are always fresh. The energy could be picked up however the customer service is good I hope they can retain some of their service representatives because they seem to be nice but they change very often. I love that they have a club card they stamp your card every time you buy one and then you get the next one free after 10 I already cashed one in. The California roll was warm and soft from the freshly cooked rice not my preference. The tempura, miso soup, and gyoza were all decent, but nothing that stood out. My wife ordered the veggie and chicken bowl. The portions were generous, but overall it was another solid meal that didn't really separate itself from similar restaurants. What surprised me most was how much of the restaurant's popularity seems to come from social media. It definitely attracts a younger crowd, and the online hype has made it a destination. But if you judge it strictly on the food, I think it's good not amazing. One thing I would encourage them to improve is hospitality. I just started dieting to drop some weight and was looking for healthier choices to grab a quick meal. I wasn't sure about Poke because I never tried it before. The girl at the counter Zion was knowledgeable about what to try if this was my first time and not big on strong fishy taste in my food. She suggested a couple of different sauces and pineapple to balance out the taste. I really enjoyed my bowl. The restaurant is well maintained and felt comfortable to eat in. Fresh ingredients, generous portions, and great flavors all around. The fish tasted very fresh, the toppings had a lot of variety, and everything blended together perfectly. This Poke place just opened and it is so good. I ordered a medium bowl, salmon, tofu and scallops, with many options of sides. For the sides, I had crab meat salad, seaweed salad, cucumber, pineapple, etc. no additional charge. The sauce I had was their housing sauce + ginger shouyu+ chili powder. It was so delicious! I kindly asked if I could switch my order to the combo and even offered to pay the difference, which was less than $1, so I could get the drink. He just said no. I asked again, he said no. I understand I had already placed my order, but it would have been pretty simple to refund it and recharge me for the combo. It felt like he just didn't want to take the extra step. That's where Shootz missed the mark for me. The food was good not great, but when you're already charging a premium for relatively very small portions of Hawaiian food, good customer service makes a difference. Customer service in Hawaii makes you feel like family, Shootz made me feel like I was eating at a drive thru.
