Absolutely wonderful food and people! My partner and I were craving thai food in an unfamiliar area and so happy we chose this place. Right off the bat we were greeted with wonderful service by the sweet owners(?). I ordered the pad thai and mango sticky rice and my partner ordered the combination fried rice. The pad thai was amazing, wonderfully sticky, sweet, tangy, and fresh from the bean sprouts. My partner also loved their fried rice! The mango sticky rice was beautifully presented and was an amazing end to our meal. We were definitely full, satisfied, and even had some leftovers. We were hungry as usual I took to Yelp because we were in the area and found this spot. I was hesitant but hungry so decided to give this place a try. Unfortunately, it did not hit the spot. There were only 1 person working the front and it wasn't too busy however it took some time to get the menu get our drinks ordered. I think for a restaurant on a Saturday she at least have two people working in the front not just one. I felt bad for the lady.. The food came out in a decent time however it was just mediocre. It locked a lot of the usual flavoring and given that I am from the same region it was missing a lot of the flavoring I'm used to with the dishes we ordered. The restaurant was somewhat hot inside given it was already a very warm sunny day. I will say restaurant was clean and decor was moderately nice. Parking was decent, we will not be back. read more

Came in here expecting Thai Aree and not realizing it's changed names and ownership. To be fair, I haven't visited since before the New Year. Crestfallen to find that the one menu item I came in for with a craving for, isn't offered in the new menu. (It was that egg noodle bowl with bbq pork) Instead, I had to decide on something completely different from what my hunger wanted. I settled for the Pad Woon Sen. Found ourselves another authentic Thai food!! These place have delicious and flavorful dishes. We ordered the tom kha kai, fried rice, pad see ew, panang curry and egplant all were delicious. Best Thai food I've had in a long time! As soon as I walked in I was greeted by the staff and seated immediately. The location is modern, and well maintained, nice and clean. Menu is simple, with great traditional options. I ordered the Tom Yum Goong extra spicy with a side of white rice, a water and a Thai tea. Food came out quickly, and did not disappoint. First time trying. We ordered for pickup 3 lunch meals specials, calamari, orange chicken side, and shrimp spring rolls. I love Thai food and this is def not somewhere I would go again. Used to visit this location all the time when it was Aree Thai. So i drove by and noticed the change on the building name and aesthetics on the outside, and decided to give it a try. First off, its been opened for a couple weeks i believe the owner told me now. Faint smell of the fresh paint loomed a little but welcoming to the fact that the whole place got a fresh remodel. Looks nice and welcoming. New menu's which i liked as well. They still have the usual lunch combo's, but now they come with a side salad. So entree, rice, salad, and egg roll, for less than $13. Really good price for the quality of the food and quantity. Unfortunately they took my staple off the lunch menu, which was the spicy eggplant, but they do serve it on the ala carte menu. I ordered the Panang Curry with chicken, and was really good. Tasted like the old place, which i liked. After speaking with the owner, he told me the story of the old owner, and that he kept two of the same cooks from the prior restaurant, which is a definite plus. Service was very good as well. This has to be the worst tasting overpriced Thai food . I ordered the Pat see ew with beef . Horrible the beef was hard and very burnt . I pay over 18 dollars for this little tray with nasty noodles & burnt meat . Another problem is that the meat was so bitter due to the fact that it was fully burnt . All the people who have 5 stars have never had authentic Thai food . Another thing is that they are using regular broccoli in the pad see ew , instead of using traditional Chinese broccoli. Amazing service and amazing food! Met my mom here for lunch and I was craving pork belly and this was the only Thai spot closest to her (Brea) that had it on the menu. Joe took care of us right when we sat down, and gave amazing service. We ordered 2 side orders of crispy pork (pork belly), pad see ew, and combo fried rice. All the food was great. Joe was confused why we ordered 2 sides of pork as he said much people don't order it or even know. He brought us over a special blend sauce and told us that's how they eat it in Thailand and wanted us to enjoy it the way they do. He said you can't order the sauce so I'm not sure what it's called but amazing blend of flavors! He was very personable and really took the time to explain the dish. He gave my mom and i some drinks to go at no charge as we were leaving, Thai coffee and a Thai tea. Both of the drinks were also amazing! The space was also very clean. I think we just enjoyed each others company and that's why we had some complimentary items but overall the food and service was a 10/10. Daughter wanted Thai for her birthday. To our surprise it's a different restaurant at our regular spot still Thai so we decide to try it out. They updated the whole place looks nice and welcoming. Forgot to take pictures. I placed a to go order for the chicken stir fry noodle and it was very tasty. The establishment is easy to find, lots of parking and the staff was friendly. They have plenty of indoor seating and big AC units so don't sweat while enjoying your meal. Once I walked in I could tell it was going to taste authentic by aromatic smells, the way they bag the food and the foil wrapping my noodles inside the to go box. The noodles were still hot after my 15 min drive back to the office and the flavor was exactly what I was expecting. The veggie roll that came with my meal was also very good, the veggies still had some crunch and the wrap was not soggy at all even after my drive. I got a Thai tea and it was 10/10 creamy, sweet and the almost perfect shade of orange. They have a large menu with affordable prices. I would come back to try more entrees. read more

The type of place that you know soon will be people all over the place and will be exploded on the internet. It's well thought out, well executed, no absurd 10 pages of menu items. We ordered half the menu and everything as on point with thai flavors. Portions were generous and the flavors were punchy in the best way possible. Service was solid. Attentive, efficient, and chill. I typically make the trip to Hollywood for authentic Thai food. Especially stirfried noodles and Thai salad so it's so freaking nice that I finally have a place I can rely on to satisfy my craving right in Whittier. Now please don't leave!!!! Was the area and seen Yelp so decided to try and was glad I did! Parking was easy and the place was clean and nice and cool on a hot day and a comfortable atmosphere to dine in. I was greeted by a very friendly waitress and gentleman I believe was the owner. I tried the orange chicken which was definitely the best I ever had and the chicken in it was premium chicken for sure not like panda which can be too breaded and dry, I also tried the shrimp fried rice which came with a generous portion of shrimp which was nice and was cooked just perfect, I had a small side salad and the homemade dressing was light and tasty as a dressing should be and since I could eat haha I also ordered chicken with veggies also on point and once again generous portions which in todays world it's nice to get a healthy serving. During the duration of the visit both the waitress and gentleman were attentive and asked how the food was which I said was great and made the whole dining experience that much better. I would recommend this place if you're around or worth a drive if you love Thai food. PS I took leftovers home and enjoyed it the next day for lunch read more

I frequented Thai Aree often and always felt confident I would get flavorful, delicious, well cooked food. No dry chicken and well sauced noodles like Pad Kee Mao and tasty Wonton Soup. What happened? I go today and see new ownership, it does look very nice inside and my food was ready quickly but that's where the good experience stopped. The Wonton soup was lacking flavor with 2 small wontons and dry chicken. It was bland. I got the "crispy" pork and chinese broccoli and both were undercooked. The skin on the pork was so tough and chewy I had to remove it to eat the rest of it. The broccoli was also undercooked making it taste like the raw plant it was. Neither tasted as flavorful or satisfying as before. Very sad because it was the best Thai place in the area. I will be open to trying once more to see if it was just an off day but this was a rough first experience. read more

I knew this place is gonna be bomb. While my girlfriend and I are by no means Thai food experts, we know good food when we taste it! The atmosphere is light and casual The presentation was great especially for a fast casual place, and the food was super flavorful and fresh. The pricing is on par with other similar restaurants and while not cheap, the portion sizes are generous and I got two meals out of my shrimp fried rice . I got medium spicy and it wasn't super spicy--if you like heat definitely go for very spicy. So far the best Thai food I've eaten in Whittier.
