Stopped by because I heard they were doing $10 poke bowl specials for lunch! The stand is in the former space of Waba Snacks, which is in a maze-like area of side streets in kaka'ako so parking is definitely tough and limited, the easiest parking is probably street parking over on Waimanu/Kamake'e if you can't find a spot out front, or at the Patagonia down the street, their lot is huge and always has open stalls. There's a couple tables on their patio for dine-in and it looks like they're constructing some indoor seating too. Service was fast and polite. It seems like if you haven't made it for the $10 bowl special, their standard price is $15.50 (not sure if portion sizes are the same between the special and the standard price). It's a build-your-own bowl system featuring a few options for fish (pick 2 from ahi, salmon, or tako, maybe more options available), a base (salad, brown or white rice, or a mix), flavors (so many to choose from!), and 2 sides (the day we went there was only kim chi, tofu salad, and burdock available). The portion size was on the smaller size compared to other bowls I've had, but I actually thought the fish portion size was still generous- there was just less base/sides than typical, however since it was only $10 I consider it a great deal still. I got the salmon and I thought it was fresh, fatty, and not fishy flavored at all. My dining partner got ahi and commented he didn't like the texture/freshness of his ahi however. We both tried the mentai mayo flavor - the mentai was very generous but so was the mayo so it became too mayo-ey IMO, and also a bit salty. I had the cold ginger flavor which was perfectly balanced; he had the ponzu which he also liked. The burdock was as expected, the tofu salad was an odd texture of creamed/pureed tofu which I didn't expect and wasn't a huge fan of. The rice was cooked well and the salad was fresh, but could have used a bigger base portion for the large amount of fish given. Overall, it was a good deal for $10, liked the variety of choices offered, and I hope that the regular $15.50 would be sized larger to reflect the higher price. Come earlier in the day for more selection and support this small business!

I came to poke stand by Shokudo when they first opened and it seems like they changed it up a bit and added a few side dishes to your bowl + added new promos. Parking is a bit rough and idk if I was supposed to park where I did but I didn't stay very long. My poke bowl was $18 and you could pick 2 flavors so I got the recommended yuzu and ginger and I thought it was completely underwhelming. I honestly think that the ahi they use is not fresh but previously frozen cause it had such a weird texture and taste to it. I don't know which one I disliked more, or maybe it was the thought I actually spent this much on this? The photos they used on their IG is not the same as what you actually receive in person. They now have $10 poke bowls promo. I think if I paid this price it wouldn't have been as bad but it is comparable to what you pay for. But honestly for $18 you can go to other places and get a fresher tasting poke bowl. One star for being dog friendly tho.

I tried Poke Stand by Shokudo close to when they first opened. They're located in Kaka'ako in the lot next to the Rice Factory. I must say I was slightly underwhelmed by the poke here. The fish quality is not great, the ahi had a bright pink color and texture was grainy. But the poke bowls are pretty affordable, so can't complain too much. For flavors, we tried the gohan desuyo, mentaiko, yuzu, and miso cheese salmon. Of these the gohan desuyo was probably my favorite, but mostly because the flavor comes from the bottled nori tsukudani that it is named for. The mentaiko flavor was on the light side but was a nice option for creamy poke. I thought I might like the miso cheese salmon, but the flavors were ultimately too overpowering and unharmonious to be enjoyable. It had a very strong funky cheese taste. The saying that cheese and fish don't go together is true, in this case. It seems like since we went, they took the poke plates off the menu and now just serve poke bowls with sides included. I'd like to try their sides next time. We also picked up a spicy chashu musubi, which was yummy. They give you the nori packaged separately to keep it fresh. I appreciated the friendly and quick service from the staff!

Parking: tough. can do street parking or there's two stalls next to the restaurant Service: take out Ambiance: casual spot on a back street, but with added decor to transform the area into a nice area to eat Food: customizable poke bowls, would rec the ginger and gohan desuyo sauces. they're currently doing a $10 special on all bowls until May 31st

Poke options... Did you know that there's a new poke spot in Kaka'ako? Poke Stand by Shokudo is in the former Waba Snacks on Kawaiaha'o Street and what a super cute spot they transformed it into as I just happened to have drove by after work I literally had to reverse and park right beside the biz between picket fences as I noticed the green grassy turf with tables out front of this cute little stand. Poke is what they have and you're able to enjoy it as a bowl which comes with two choices or keep both choices the same on top of white or brown rice or salad while the plate is the same as the bowl but you get to add on two sides as well. From seems like nine available choices to choose from I went with the bowl and "Cold Ginger Ahi" and at the time didn't realize that I could choose another one...!? Yay no dilemma and got the "Yuzu Ponzu Ahi" both were yummy and easily to figure out as each had their own garnish yuzu strips on the yuzu ponzu and tobiko on the cold ginger which also came with some ginger as well all in a nice and sturdy bowl. They just opened two days ago to my surprise and they do use rice from the rice factory it's nice to have this option for poke so conveniently here though can be slightly hidden come take a peek at the freshness they have here as the staff is so nice and friendly. Thank you!

The poke is fresh! You get to choose between tako and ahi. There are a variety of styles to choose from. There are also choice of sides. A poke bowl costs $15.50 which includes two choices of poke and two sides. You also can choose your base - white rice, brown rice or salad mix. I don't think there is any bad choice. The only downside is the parking. There are two stalls to the right of the stand. Otherwise, finding parking is tricky. It is worth the effort. You can call ahead and maybe double park... Also, I believe this place is cashless, so be prepared to pay the credit card charge.

This was a very surprising meal for us, I didn't expect it to be THAT good! right now they have a 10$ poke bowl deal that comes with 2 choices of poke, 2 sides. We tried the spicy ahi which I don't care for that minced texture but the taste was perfect not too spicy of mayo forward. I also really like the cold ginger ahi. My fiance had the avocado one and that was good too. Also all the sides we tried were amazing like the fried eggplant, burdock, and tofu salad! It's a little stand so it's easy to miss, I'm sure it's hard to get parking like anything else around there. I would definitely come with another person in case you need to just jump out and have them drive around and pick you back up.

Very cute little poke stand near the ward area. Has three tables for eating and love that you can customize your bowl with different sauces, fish, and sides. They had a special going on which was $10 for a poke bowl. Can't beat that price. Fish was ok quality, but loved the different sauces. I got the ponzo yuzu salmon and cold ginger ahi with edamame and eggplant. Very quick and friendly service and they have two parking stalls next to them. If not available you'll have to park on the street

$10 poke bowl with 2 fish and 2 sides

Was super excited to try this new poke shop that is walking distance to where I'm staying which was recommended to me by a local friend. They are currently doing a $10 all day poke bowl special until 3/14 so take advantage of it while you can because the price is hard to beat! They're opened daily from 7:30am to 3pm and the poke bowl comes with choice of base, 2 fish (and flavors) as well as 2 sides. For the base, you can choose between white rice, brown rice or salad mix. I love the option of the salad mix because I don't typically eat a lot of rice but a lot of the local food always comes with rice so the salad mix was perfect for me. You can choose 2 fish and it looks like they only have 2 options to choose from so you can choose 2 of the same fish if you'd like. I like that you can choose different flavors for each fish option. On the day that I went, they had ahi tuna and hamachi. I tried the ahi tuna with the mentaiko mayo and the hamachi with the yuzu ponzu. Both were delicious in their own way. The yuzu ponzu hamachi was bright yet buttery. The mentaiko mayo ahi was creamy and umami. For my 2 sides, I went with the kimchi and the tofu salad. I didn't expect the tofu salad to be crumbled tofu. I thought it was going to be tofu blocks and chose it for the extra protein. It was still good, just a little mushy so I would avoid if you don't like the texture of mushy tofu. For the kimchi, it's another odd choice as I typically wouldn't choose that with my poke bowls but I like kimchi and I wanted the extra probiotic vegetable. Overall, I probably could've made better choices for a more classic poke bowl but I'm still happy with my creation, especially for $10! It's honestly such a steal compared to the $25 ahi tuna poke bowl I got from foodland. The stand is small and there's only 2 workers but they make your bowl to order so it takes a little bit of time. They're super nice and friendly though and there is a small seating area with 4 benches on these grass patches to enjoy your bowl there if you plan to eat on the spot. I went towards the end of the day so it wasn't busy but I can imagine the lunch rush hour because for $10, it's hard not to want it!

Freshly made Mac salad was delicious with pieces of imitation crab. Burdock & eggplant sides also recommended. Ginger ahi & mentai mayo flavors recommended. Sauna next door coming soon ! Will be back

Poke bowl - spicy tuna, edamame, tofu with bonito flakes, shoyu ahi on brown rice
    Hope H.

I got a very good poke bowl for only $10 with coupon (see their IG page for details). The bowl came with 2 poke choices, 2 sides, and choice of rice. I got the shoyu ahi, spicy tuna, edamame, tofu with bonito flakes, and brown rice. The fish tasted fresh, rice had a nice texture, and the bowl was arranged nicely. Highly recommend!

    Cute packaging

Yummy! I saw on IG about this place and their promotional for $10 Poke bowls with Rice Factory rice. I ordered the spicy tuna and shoyu poke with tofu salad and edamame. The rice is so tasty, love the ahi chunks for shoyu ahi. I thought it would be ahi cubes for the spicy tuna but it was not. Good flavor but next time would try the mentai mayo or ginger one. I enjoyed it and the sides were flavorful! Parking is tricky best to find street parking. Service is quick and made to order! Be sure to check them out!

I missed the photo op but there was nothing captivating. The spicy sauce on the spicy salmon couldn't cover up the gamey taste. Same goes for the miso ahi, but it was slightly better than the salmon. The poke wasn't cut consistently, had some stringy pieces, and wasn't cold enough either. It seemed like it had been saturated for a while, too slimy. Plastic or styrofoam bowls would definitely help with the presentation. They're currently charging $20 for poke bowls served in a mini plate lunch container filled with mostly rice. The best part of the trip was the gelato. It's not theirs, they are vendors for Il Gelato. The dragonfruit and mango lilikoi combo made up for the mediocre poke. I would return for the gelato.

The shop is located downstairs in a food court-style area with shared seating nearby. If it's your first time, be aware you'll need to walk down a flight of stairs to find it. The menu has a huge variety of poke, which is great, although it was a little overwhelming deciding what to order. Ordering itself is quick and straightforward. I ordered a regular bowl ($18) with the tako limu, spicy salmon, and shoyu tuna. The biggest thing to consider here is the value. At $18 for a regular bowl, I expected both exceptional quality and bold flavors. While the fish quality was excellent, the seasoning didn't quite match the price point for me. Shoyu Tuna - Unfortunately my least favorite of the three. It lacked seasoning and tasted fairly plain. They do provide soy sauce packets, but I personally don't expect to have to season poke myself at this price point. Madako Limu - Easily the standout. The octopus was cut into generous chunks, giving it a great texture, and it had the most balanced, flavorful seasoning of the three selections. Spicy Salmon - The salmon itself was fresh and buttery, and I liked that it included masago for added texture. However, despite the name, it wasn't spicy and the overall flavor was pretty mild. One thing I can't criticize is the quality of the fish. Everything tasted very fresh, with buttery texture and no sinew or chewy pieces, which speaks to the quality of the seafood. Overall, I can understand why people come here for the freshness of the fish. If you prefer lightly seasoned poke that lets the seafood shine, this may be your style. Personally, I was hoping for more flavor to justify the price, so while I'm glad I tried it, there are other poke spots I'd choose first.
