Been a while since the last time I dined here, but my friend said that this is where she wanted to eat. She was in awe of the amount of items on the menu. Finally she opted for one of the specials, miso butterfish plate at $23. I wasn't as hungry so I bought a half pound of ahi shoyu poke. My friend raved about the butterfish, good choice on her part. I didn't care for the poke. All I tasted was a strong shoyu flavor, very disappointing given the price of fresh ahi poke these days. Not sure if I'll come back, it is a little pricey for guys on fixed incomes. I guess I need to get used to the new norm in dining prices.
Poke Stop is a beautiful and wonderfully put together establishment. The service was to be expected for what I ordered. I'm sure not that many people order fried shrimp by themselves, but I did. They were not what I expected. I was highly pleased with how they turned out. They were nice and crispy with a light tempura batter (eat them while they are hot so they don't get soggy). What really stood out was their daily special. I ordered a "Fried Oyster Poboy" combo (came with fries and a drink). There was a sauce on it that may have been their version of remoulade. It was a little sweet for my palate but still very flavorful. Back to the Thursday Specials offerings: I was pretty surprised to see Crawfish and Chicken Gumbo on the special list. I was very excited and skeptical at the same time. Most of my reviews are me bashing dishes that have Creole, Cajun, and Louisiana in the title. With that said, Gumbo is a staple where I come from. It's easy to mess up and not many people agree on what's in it (on any given day). I tasted the gumbo direct from the establishment. I'm not going to bash the Gumbo. This gumbo was light of flavor and had a layer of grease on top. The rice that came with it was separate. It's all good. My recommendation is that you take the gumbo gravy (wasn't really roux) and scoop it out and put it on the rice. Put it all on there. I had a little butter in my fridge so I put a little of that on it with some Cajun seasoning (Slap ya Mamma) and salt. 10/10 for my preference. I was actually grateful it came under-seasoned. My overall experience was 8.5 out of 10. I'm very impressed with this place. This revived motivation to eat in Mililani.
Came with my husband to poke stop to get a Taegu chicken plate for him. Haven't been here in a year when it was good and friendly staff or maybe my luck today wasn't a good day for them 240pm. The chicken was plain no flavor not even at least a drizzle of Taegu sauce more like one splash, my husband was so hungry typical guy just eat. All I gotta say is was dry no sauce cannot even taste any sauce. Will never come over here again and definitely going tell my friends and family on this side no eat here.
Been to this location for many years. I love the poke and lunch plates at this family owned business. Renowned Chef Elmer Guzman, who was a graduate of the KCC culinary program knows how to create some awesome local style plates at a modest price in this casual place. I love their poke and their creamy salmon is among my favorites. Today, I got the Executive Chef plate. It was loaded with a combination of Korean style bone-in kalbi, garlic shrimp, garlic Island fish & your choice of poke. I opted my plate with creamy salmon poke, white rice and potato salad. It's da bomb! Taste so ono and I had a hard time finishing it all- but I managed to- hehe! The service was great from ordering to leaving. I dined in and my meal was served on real plates, water cup with ice, and silverware. My meal came out quickly but I did come at a slow time. There are signs posted that say "Fresh Food isn't Fast- Mahalo for your Patience" so it might be a good idea to phone order ahead of time. The place was very clean. There's a tub to place your used dishes in. There's a long table to sit on as well as counter space to eat. The friendly staff said "Thank you!" when I was leaving. Of course I'll be back!
I really do love it here! Was chatting with a friend about this place, so I decided to stop for dinner. I got the executive plate with Kapakahi poke, Sous Chef plate with Kapakahi poke, salmon skins, spicy garlic tater tots, and a half pound of smoked ahi belly. I am never disappointed when I eat here! Even the girl that works here remembered me, and is always so friendly. 10/10 recommended if you're in the area!
Craving poke but can't decide where to stop since there's a ton of places on the island? Look no further. You came to the right spot. Not only was this place featured on Diner, Drive Ins and Dive, it was by far one of the best experiences I have had at an establishment that made it to the big screens. The auntie that took our orders was soooo patient. I literally took so long to decide what I want because the choices were incredible. She even gave us samples. Talk about choice paralysis. Anyway, I ended up getting the garlic ahi w masago poke bowl and the rice was cooked to perfection. I am craving it right now as I'm writing this. They also have other choices if you're not into raw fish such as burgers, gumbo, etc. I live about 35 mins away but I would absolutely make the drive out to Mililani just for this poke and the service. 10/10 all around!!!!
Just saw a review from Christina F. of Moanalua about the ahi in her shoyu poke being "black" and Cali poke bowl ALSO being "black". Here is a picture of the actual poke bowls in question. The fish looks JUST FINE. As a matter of fact, I just ate some from BOTH bowls and the poke was AWESOME. Some people are just unhappy with their lives and find the need to take out their unhappiness out on other people. It makes them feel good about the issues that they are having in their own lives, giving them a sense of control in the chicken shit lives that they lead. To Christina F. of Moanalua: just stay home and save yourself some heartache and pocket your attention-seeking behavior for people who actually care. Your useless Yelp reviews, while helping you to feel like you have some sense of control in your insignificant life, mean nothing to people who actually know what they are talking about about. Poke Stop has awesome food. I eat here ALL THE TIME. Never got sick once. Nothing but a full belly of top quality poke. 5-stars all day, every day.

So...the second to last time I ordered from there...there was a hair in my food. Didn't say anything; I'm sure it was an accident (and I was already home so I wasn't about to drive back). Its been a while since I last posted, but after stopping here, I could not wait to post! IJust got through eating my torched salmon poke bowl with sushi rice. You talk about Brooke the mouth, it was so delicious and it had so many goodies on it like the orange sal.on eggs, not the really big one, toasted seeds, not sesame, an aioli that was out of this world all torched so that the salmon was only a little cooked and the inside was nice like sashimi style. Drizzled with the seeds and green onion. This was by far the best salmon ever. This is the true meaninģ of Loko!! A must try you guys! The staff/owners Sammy and Elmer were ever so loving, with warm opened arms, and welcomed everyone like they were ohana. Cant be beat!! read more
Picked up poke for a party. I was sadly disappointed. The poke did not look fresh, especially the salmon, but more on the slimy side. When I tried my selection of shoyu poke, it was mushy. Also ordered the bbq and it was horrible, chewy and full of fat per my other half. On the plus side, I was asked if I wanted it warmed up. Big disappointment. I get not ordering bbq at a poke place, but to get mushy poke is not acceptable. I will not be returning. read more
Alright, this was my first visit here. My sister called and said she wanted a Salmon Poke bowl so I said I would pick one up for her but was not sure from where. I checked online and found this place was close by so I thought I would give it a shot! In truth, I usually just buy poke from Times or Don Quixote. Whenever my sister and I would buy Poke Bowls it was when we were working in Maui and it would be from Safeway where they were huge, filled with rice and poke for $11. So I was not sure how to order from this place because I could not find an online store on the website, but I wanted to respect all covid pandemic safety practices so I called from my car in the parking lot to place the order. I prefer online orders because it is detailed and less likely the order would be wrong, but I called it in. I told the person it was my first time ordering with them, I asked about Salmon poke choices, he gave me the options and I selected the Large poke bowl with two choice poke (Furekaki Salmon and Creamy Salmon). I also ordered a Limu Ahi poke bowl and a Loco Moco was my mom's selection. The person gave me my total and said it would be about 10 minutes. No problem. We sat in the car, watched some "Christmas Chronicles two" on the iPad and 20 min went buy. I went up to pick up my order. As I walked in there was one customer at the counter so the representative asked me to wait outside. Great job at keeping with social distancing orders. I went in, paid and picked up my order no problem. Now the food....Seemed a little skimpy on the poke, but Ahi limu very flavorful with some peppery heat. I took a taste of my sister's bowl, both Salmon poke had some heat to it. My sister and I agreed we don't care for everything being too hot. There should be some "Not hot" choices for the poke. Lastly, the loco moco. I took a piece of that to taste after my mom said go try it. "Does the hamburger seem hard?" She asked. The flavor of the dish is really good, but that hamburger was hard as HELL! Lmao! Ok, I know the review was a little rough but I plan to go back and try a few more things and even try the Loco Moco again because the dishes have it's own flavoring. The pricing does seem a little higher but still within range of good fish or a good plate lunch. So, I will give it another shot soon with the benefit of the doubt and will keep you posted if they were just having a tough day or it is consistently a below rating. With an attractive menu and the business being in business for a good amount of time, I am keeping my fingers crossed I will witness a better experience the next time! Keep you posted! read more

I've heard so much about this place and the curiosity finally got me to drive here from the town area. Well, the poke was good, not amazing or anything I'd drive back for, but quite good. I had the poke bowl with two choices made with garlic poke and shoyu poke. My friend who didn't like onions chose the salmon bowl. He liked it but it wasn't anything special. What I really liked was the Hawaiian chili water that I bought to enhance the poke bowl. The menu item was vast and there were lots of other food options. If I lived near here I'd definitely come back to try some of them. Overall, good tasting poke bowls. read more

I ordered a creamy salmon poke bowl. It was too spicy for me and usually I can handle spicy, I'm sure there were chili flakes or sweet chili sauce because I can taste it. It was a big portion and didn't finish it. Afterwards I got a sore stomachache and I was thinking if it was from the poke. I wouldn't come back here again. read more

I don't ever complain or write Yelp reviews but the customer service here always sucks. The workers always give attitude. The only reason I came back multiple times is because my wife really likes the poke here. I guess they changed the size of their poke bowls because this is supposed to be the "large" poke bowl, the plate is so shallow and they put very little poke... $16.70 is a big time rip off. Wouldn't have phone ordered if I knew how small it was. read more

Ordered the Seared Ahi Poke Bowl with Smokemeat Fried Rice. Very tasty and generous portions. Also ordered the Blackened Ahi Salad with Caesar dressing. Very satisfying and very affordable. read more

The only reason why I'm putting a four star is because this place is expensive but with that being said it's super good. If you don't mind dropping $16 for a large poke bowl then come on down the price is right. The ahi was soft and flavorful. The rice wasn't anything special just your normal calrose rice. My friend ordered their tots and those were super yummy too. All in all I was super happy with their delicious poke. read more

Yes, I'm a fan of both Poke and now, Poke Stop. Well, this location anyway. On a friend's (Lai T) advice, I passed on the Waipahu location and made my way up to Mililani. It's right off the freeway on the Mililani Mauka side. Parking lot is pretty small but there's construction going on so when that's done, it may or may not be an issue. Staff was pretty friendly, even when they had to deny me using their restroom. Employees only by the way. I didn't even look at the menu as I came in for a snack, not a meal. I immediately went to the cooler to the poke selection and chose both the shoyu ahi and tako poke. Sat down and dug right in. I took my time and savored every bite of fresh and flavorful goodness. I even contemplated ordering more but passed knowing that I'll be back again ... during this visit. read more

I cannot overstate how OUTSTANDING!!! Poke Stop is. I have been a server and bartender in Hawaii for over 20 years. I have worked for some of the best Chefs in Hawaii in fine dining. I am a pretty good cook and foodie myself. This is some of the best food in Hawaii!! There is an obvious commitment to quality. The product, freshness of ingredients, depth of flavor, skillful execution, creativity and careful thought put into each dish/ side/ item. My 4th visit in 3 days. Twice today. Keep up the outstanding commitment to excellence! I would also like to greatly compliment the staff. Each time they have been very friendly and accommodating. My 1st time in a gentlemen asked if I had been in before. He skillfully and confidently volunteered and gave a brief description of the menu options. His confidence and outgoing SALESMANSHIP let me know he believed in the product and restaurant. Great job. Way to be a salesman and not an order taker. I went to Oahu recently for my brother's wedding, and Poke Stop was on my list of places to try during my trip. Unbeknownst to me, Chef Elmer and his crew were catering my brother's wedding! The food was so good that we went to Poke Stop for lunch a few days later, so this review is for both their catering and the Mililani location. Catered Menu: First of all, the whole team was so professional. They arrived early to set up and prepare the food. Everyone was friendly, respectful, and well-organized. They were so awesome that I wish I had time to talk with the chef and crew, but unfortunately, I was a bridesmaid, haha. All the food was amazing, but the standouts were: Kalua pork gyozas and kalua pork - the gyozas were my favorite of the appetizers; nicely crispy but not greasy. The Kalua Pork had a lot of flavor, but it wasn't too salty which I was afraid of. It was just perfect. Shoyu Ahi Poke - there's a reason it's called Poke Stop. This was the only dish that we didn't have leftovers. Chicken long rice - a very simple dish with just chicken, ginger?, scallions, and cellophane noodles, but wow, so much flavor. I think this may have been my favorite. Grilled fish (opah?) with cajun seasoning - Super fresh fish that just melts in your mouth, not dry at all, very moist and tender. Perfect amount of cajun seasoning. We had a ton of other dishes like Shrimp Tempura and Lomi Lomi Salmon, and there wasn't a bad dish among them. Even the salad with honey mustard dressing was amazing. Someone who can make my family like greens is a special chef. Mililani location: Poke poke poke! A few of us went to Poke Stop so we could try more poke. It's a small place with about 4 tables, but very clean, ample free parking, and friendly service. Prices ranged from $10-13/lb for poke. We had: Hamachi poke - it looks really rich and creamy and the orange-ish color is scary, but this was soooo good. Sweet onion ahi poke - a little dry, but the onions will wake you up. Ginger scallion shrimp - very good, fresh shrimp, nice clean flavor. Furikake salmon poke - this is the dish that was on DDD. It was good, but a little sweet for me, almost like a teriyaki sauce. Overall, I'm very surprised by the negative reviews. The food was great; the service even better. If I lived on Oahu, I would have them cater all of my events. Highly recommend. read more

This was my first time. I walk in and there are cute wooden benches with table. No a space for a party or anything but good and intimate. First of all I found the menu that is hanging up above is not reader friendly. I found it really busy to read. SO MANY OPTIONS!! I finally buckled down and decided I wanted a bowl. I got the Hawaiian Bowl. Typical Kalua pig, lomi salmon, Limu poke and rice. It looked amazing but on the salty side for my taste. My gf got the California bowl. It was too spicy for her so we switched and everything in the world was ok. Lol Only thing I would have to say it that there was a Aunty working in the back yelling at the workers. Something about it has to be perfect cause they spent a lot of money. I'm sure they were working on a catering gig but man she was stressed. My gf goes often to the other locations and she said there is one Aunty like that in every poke stop. I wasn't brothers by it since I'm born and raised here and do you know my mom? I hardly go to this place, even though we live so close and frequent all the other restaurants next to it. Great food, excellent poke. But very poor service. As My son and I walked in with no line. We went straight to the poke counter. Then, A lady walked In after us, they helped the lady behind us who who apparently was their friend. They attend to her and "talked story" for awhile. So, my son and I waited and waited until I finally asked if we could be helped. Then, we got serviced we ordered "large poke bowl" 2 choices :Oyster poke over white rice and onion poke over brown rice. They got it mixed up and was opposite. :(. For $15 servings (poke) were very skimpy (not weighed) with lots of rice and was not worth the frustrations. Tamuras have much better service with bigger portions. read more

Tried their oxtail adobo and it was so Ono! Portion was quite generous so I was able to share with my son. On a separate visit, I tried their fried green tomatoes and that was also yummy. Will definitely be frequenting this place often, especially since I live just minutes away. read more

Ordered 2 surf n turf crab cake burgers. Crab cake was so-so but look at the "topped with hot pastrami" ! Yep, you're looking at one - yes One - pastrami slice . Poke stop gas gone downhill ! Come on Chef Elmer - what's going on? read more

Today 11/18/2022 poke stop Mililani mauka I ordered a seared ahi bowl with Kim Chee fried rice side poi, and friend ordered poke bowl creamy ahi and sweet onion ahi side order lomi salmon.... Lomi salmon was horrible I'm 100% sure it was spoiled it smelt sour and tasted sour friend threw up after eating it and found a piece of really dark and old ahi in the creamy/spicy ahi that was it for him tossed everything away, as for the Kim Chee fried rice it was horrible it was rice soaked in oil and soy sauce with a few pieces Kim chee "seared ahi" could clearly taste it was old poke fried.. the poi was sour, I like my poi sour but to me it was past the point of serving. Immediately after eating it didn't sit well in my stomach, im all about supporting local but man I cannot and will not eat there again. And will advise my family of my experience because eating there could be dangerous for some of them. If you are eating there smell and taste it before fully ingesting! read more
Wow!!! This place has the best poke I have ever had. Every time I'm in the area I have to make time for this place. my fav is the spicy salmon onolicious!! I sometimes go here twice in the same day if I go for lunch then go shopping. I'll come for dinner if it's still open lol of course I bought some for lunch tomorrow They also have really good plate lunch too. I like all their Ahi plates!!!! Oh and I had to send a shout out to their workers who have great customer service. I will be back!!! read more
