I ordered a custom Poke Bowl (brown rice with corn, cilantro, edamame, chopped mangoes, shredded nori, furikake, ponzu sauce) with Two Proteins (ahi tuna, salmon) along with a Mango Fruit Tea with Strawberry Popping Balls. The bowl was delicious! It's been awhile since I had a poke bowl and I'm very glad I decided getting one. Everything was super fresh and they did not skimp on the nori (see pic). Food was terrible, about 80% rice, with it being quite literally weighed out in front of you? I've been to other poke places that stuff your bowl generously with it being cheaper than it was. Average price but it is what it is. I believe I was probably the last customer, as I was watching him weigh out the last 4 pieces of salmon, then putting one back... If I knew I was paying $18 for rice, I would've left earlier The guy didn't give me attitude per se, but more so seemed like he hated his life and was sloppy with no enthusiasm at all.. This is for the Orange Park location. The staff is always nice and friendly but sometimes, when they are busy, it can take a little bit of time for your food. The shop is on the smaller side but they do have tables outside. I think the space should be a little bigger because if there's like 4 or 5 people inside the shop, it already seems crowded. I usually doordash my order because I'm not really on that side of town often. Boy do they give you alot for your buck! The poke bowls are always filled to the brim and all the toppings, seafood, meat, mix-ins are always fresh and delicious! My favorite go to is the customizable pick two bowl. My usual order is tuna and lobster salad (they add chunks of lobster) with pickled daikon (radish), mango, edamame, sweet onions, tamago (sweet egg), seaweed salad, kani (crab) salad, carrots, and cabbage slaw, furikake (Japanese seasoning that includes seaweed, sesame seeds, some spices), tempura flakes, shredded nori, rice puffs, and extra sesame seeds. I top it off with the chojang and creamy miso sauces. They have alot of protein, mix-in, sauces, and toppings for you to choose from. They also expanded and have now included Hawaiian foods as well! I tried the chicken and pork kalua plate and it's okay. Not the best Hawaiian food I've had but it's decent and edible. Their mac salad is pretty good, a little bit sweet, creamy, and thoroughly coated. The pasta is cooked al dente and I can easily eat a whole container of it. The plates all come with rice and mac salad. They also have bubble tea too. I wish they would make their tapioca but they use the pre-packaged ones. The brown sugar tapioca that they use is not good. It's very chewy and has almost a squishy, bouncy ball kind of texture. However, their popping tapioca balls are good. Their flavored teas and milk teas are good though but they could work on the tapioca balls. They have a seasonal bubble tea that is coconut strawberry flavored with strawberry popping boba that is my favorite. I love how fresh, creamy, and tropical it tastes. Overall, this continues to be one of my favorite poke spots as they do give you a hefty portion for the amount you pay. read more

Pokemoto is one of Jacksonville's newer spots, and we are huge fans. This concept offers Hawaiian style, customizable poke bowls, wraps and sandwiches. Customers can choose their base, protein, mix-ins, toppings, and sauces, for a completely unique flavor profile, or choose from signature combinations on the menu. The two women working were super kind and patient. They walked us through the whole process, offered suggestions and recommendations, and helped us create a fabulous lunch. My bowl was white rice with ahi tuna (it was ruby red and kept on ice - super fresh and beautiful). I added all kinds of veggies, which got tossed in both the spicy mayo and wasabi sauces (they said I could have both!). On top, we added fried garlic and crispy wontons for crunch. I added a strawberry boba tea (again, on a recommendation), and this was the first boba I have really enjoyed (it's usually too sweet for me). This was my third or fourth visit to Pokemoto. This place by far has the most options for a custom poke bowl, so I usually come here when I'm craving poke. This is a cute spot (I went to the Phillips Highway location) and has been almost empty every time I've been here. It's a great spot for quick service and a healthier option. The employee was very kind and helped me with my order. I ordered a custom bowl with tuna and salmon. I'm rating this business 4 stars instead of 5 because as soon as I walked in, there was a bit of an unpleasant smell (like rotting fish). I came in about an hour and a half before close, and some of the items were out in the open and looked like they should have been refrigerated better (the shrimp and lobster salad). I actually debated on leaving without ordering, but I've had so many good experiences here that I made sure to only order items that were covered, and they luckily were fine. Before writing this review, I looked at other reviews and saw other mentions of sanitation concerns. I know I came later in the day, but if the items were properly stored, there shouldn't have been a weird smell. I am really hoping the owners take food safety seriously, especially seafood, because some of the items looked like they should have been refrigerated better. I really do love this business and will probably give it one more chance, but if some of the seafood still looks like it's past its time, I don't think I'll be returning. read more

I recently visited the new Pokemoto on Phillips Hwy. and it was an afternoon delight. They offer delicious Hawaiian-style poké bowls and boba tea! I love it when I'm able to customize my bowls so this restaurant was right up my alley! They have plenty of options to choose from. They also combine your options and sauces so well that you have the perfect bite each time! You can also find soup, musubi, hot dishes, and boba tea on the menu as well. I, unfortunately, did not enjoy this place as much as I hoped to. It is a new store that just opened up. I have not tried the original location in Orange Park, but after this experience, we'll probably have to go to the OG if we wanted to try this again. I came in with my fiancé, and we both had different people helping us. The person that helped me was friendly and let us know how to place an order. However, the person who helped my fiancé didn't seem to knowledgable of the place/ingredients. And he overall looked like he just didn't want to be there. We ordered the regular size bowls, and they had good portions! Unfortunately, the salmon didn't taste fresh at all. It was unsatisfying to my taste buds, and I ended up throwing it away. Honestly this place was awful. Looked decent and the place was clean but the fish immediately looked a bit concerning as you could tell it was not fresh. The shrimp were sitting in a ton of water too. My first bite was immediately concerning as the tuna was extremely fishy. (Mind you i eat raw fish sushi once a week so it's not an aversion to the taste of tuna)! The salmon was stringy and then I found something hard that resembled a small bone in the bowl. That's when I threw it away. All I really ate was the rice and veggies as I was starving. Just hoping I don't get sick. The boba is also not good, hard and flavorless. We came in expressing we had a mild seafood allergy which we explained to the employee. Luckily it wasn't bad but we did unfortunately we have an allergic reaction, probably due to some cross contamination. The fish and the other proteins (spam, tofu, ect) should be more separated then they were behind the counter. Food was decent. A lot of options were not prepared (guacamole, some proteins) Which is surprising because we at dinner time. Got the boba milk tea - it is the most flavorful boba I've had in Jax so far- not just flat tea flavored but also has a hint of refreshing spices. It doesn't have the thickness that some other boba places have, and I prefer it that way. Service was welcoming and quick, and the place is pretty cute- when I went there it was empty though. i've gone here twice now, the price isn't bad and i particularly like the taste of the food, however, there is some serious sanitary concerns. The second time I went, the floors were dirty/white and had water over them. All the tables were dirty as well. I've worked in the food industry and wiping the tables and moping isn't hard at all.
