* Food - taste was good, fish was fresh. Brown rice was a bit over cooked (see service for more rice comments). Toppings were very good but the rice to protein to toppings ratio is heavy on the rice. The selection of protein is very limited compared to other poke places I've eaten at. Decent selection of toppings and sauces. No soda fountain, just canned drinks and bottled water. They do have boba tea drinks you can order. * Service - we were greeted when we walked in but the service was pretty slow. Only two people working for a Saturday at lunchtime. Biggest service complaint is we arrived at 11:45am (they open at 11) and there was no brown rice ready. We were told it would be just a few minutes but it was more like 10+ min before it was ready. The employees were friendly so no complaint there. * Ambiance - Well first off it's small, very small. They literally on have 2 four top tables and 1 two top table. If you are planning on eating in you better hope it's quiet when you arrive. The place looked clean and everything was new as it's a brand new location. * Overall - Need to make sure they have food prepped and ready, especially the base ingredients. Work on a little faster service and maybe consider additional seating. It's nice to have a Poke' Bowl place in town but they need to step up the game a little if they want to thrive. This is a new location here in Manteca California! Manteca residents are always excited when a new restaurant comes to town. Official grand opening starts tomorrow but I was eager to try this place out! I love sushi and this is a similar type of food, sushi in a bowl! I got the large build your own bowl and got tuna, lobster, and shrimp as my proteins. They are very careful to give you an exact measured scoop, not heaping. I have ate at the Stockton location before and they also measure out the scoops only they are heaping and not levels off like here. The servers are all very friendly and they provide service with a smile. Parking is plenty as it is in a strip mall. Lots of food options nearby but this one is unique. The ambiance is typical of the chain restaurant and gives off an ocean vibe with coral and aqua colors throughout the interior. I would have given 4.5 stars but half stars not allowed on Yelp so I had to go down to four stars only because I believe the protein portions are a tad small. The Grand Opening today was a hit during lunch time. It's quite busy but not busy enough yet since it's only lunch time. Office hours and schools aren't out yet so I know dinner time will be busy. It's a good thing I get to witness the opening of this place. Place has cool interior design but not enough tables and chairs to sit. It's too early to review since it's the first day. The only thing I can critic is the glass is way too high to hear customers orders, and the music was a bit too loud. Some staff can't hear my parties orders. One order was supposed to have seaweed salad but only put Kani salad. I hope they train their staff for tomorrow because it'll be busier since it's the weekends. Poke Moto did not disappoint! The restaurant was clean and organized. Bright and new. Got right in and they were ready to take our orders. We all got poke bowls tuna and salmon . Lots of mix ins and toppings to choose from. The sauces were yummy and a lot of them. We also tried the chicken miso soup - YUM ! We will def be back. Solid place for poke. Really yummy and definitely hit the spot. Went for their grand opening. Although it wasn't too packed, they managed it very well. Little chaotic but well managed. Staff is friendly and you can tell the are learning but with time, they will be better/look less confused. I like their variety of toppings like the seaweed selection. First off, I am very glad we have a place centered around poke here in Manteca. They have decent options to choose from. If I were craving poke and didn't want to drive to my usual spot in Livermore, I wouldn't completely mind the spot near home. When first walking in, I was welcomed, though when it came to ordering, I will say the service lacked. There were a couple of older people who knew what they were doing, and I bet they were training the younger kids, as the one who helped me. Her customer service could use some improvement as when asked to repeat myself, she went "huh?" or just gave me a blank stare several times through the interaction. I hope this was just due to lack of experience, because I felt uncomfortable from the interaction. I pointed and said a side I wanted to add, and she added the completely wrong item, but I didn't want to say anything as she already put it in my bowl. They have a promotion of 50% off at the moment which was nice, though it was $18.99 for a large bowl (3 scoops) which was 70% rice and very small portions of the sides.. I finished my sides within 5-6 bites and was left with rice, sauce, and a few fish. The taste itself wasn't bad, I just wasn't satisfied by the uneven portions--especially for the price tag. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt and will return in the future, as I hope they are currently working out the kinks and gaining customer service and work experience. This is the closest Poke place within a 10mile radius to me so I buy here multiple times a week. Staff is very rude and noticeably rude to eachother. They always give me so much rice and little fish. Unfortunately, I had severe food poisoning after eating here for the first time. It was Thursday last week, and by Friday night I was feeling the worst cramps and body aches. As someone from Oahu that now resides in Manteca, here is my take. The place is clean. The staff is also friendly. The portions are small compared to every other surrounding poke spots such as (Stockton and Modesto). I wouldnt use the word stingy like everyone else but its more like (a chipotle server scooping your protein and corporate wants to save money). Rice was a little dry (google sushi rice and what goes in it and use that). Also have sesame oil on its own to add to your other sauces. The musubi's were to salty and was missing something. (Hard to make musubis terrible, easiest snacks us hawaiians make back home). I bought 4 of them.
