She is very passionate about the menu and is very attentive to everyone. Thankfully, as our food was served she was there to explain that the best way to experience the chef's creation is to eat it as it presented (without soy sauce) first. She went on to explain that each dish is created with specific textures and flavors in mind to create an intentional balanced bite. She is absolutely correct and I am so glad we listened. In fact, after trying the "second" bite with soy sauce, we recognized that it was much better without it. The soy sauce is homemade and delicious but the sushi is so perfectly executed, it really does not need anything at all to shine. This is not your average sushi joint. The food and service will blow you away. Get the Princess Peach Roll if it's available. The Tiger Roll and the Flame Touch were also fantastic. My usual is the Chicken Gone Wild bowl with white rice, mixed greens, without the seaweed and tend to add different vegetables in there. I've tried most of the boba there as well, one of my favorites is the Taro Bubble Tea, it reminds me of cereal milk if I had to compare it to something. Others I like are the Strawberry and Mango Bubble Tea, either boba or fruit jelly tastes good with it. This will always be a place I'll catch myself getting addicted to stopping by every now and then. I love feeling great after my meal because it contains both greens and protein. Finally, after about 20 min, I saw that my order was 'complete' and headed over, miraculously scoring a parking spot right in front. Once inside it was more confusion as there is no dedicated pickup area, Mom was in her own prep and chop mode, and Pop was focused solely on walk-in orders. But after managing to catch his attention I was on my merry way, with a somewhat underwhelming poke bowl, ONE napkin, and the offer of chopsticks (which I declined). The few times we've been there, we felt like we were inconveniencing the staff whenever we asked questions. There was little to no eye contact, and the customer service just wasn't welcoming. The experience at The Salad Bar was the complete opposite. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and were immediately asked if we had any questions. That simple gesture made a great first impression. Eye contact is important to me. It feels like, as a society, we've lost some of those basic courtesies that make people feel seen and valued. The staff at The Salad Bar absolutely delivered in that regard. I also appreciate businesses that pay attention to the little things. Cleanliness should always be expected, but unfortunately, that's not always the case. The restaurant was spotless, and I was pleasantly surprised to find USB charging outlets at the tables--a thoughtful touch that definitely didn't go unnoticed.
