After coming from Hawaii, I was ecstatic to see a poke shop open in the Chesapeake area. I love the concept but after having been spoiled by Foodland in Hawaii's 6.99 over-stuffed poke bowl, I was very disappointed to see what I got at Poketastic for twice the price. They only give you about a 1/2 cup total sashimi in the small 2-protein bowl. The fish was tasty but could've had a better texture. They must not be getting the best quality cuts. They were also kind of stingy with the other toppings. I had to ask double. I probably won't be going back, unless they become more generous with the sashimi portions. read more

Great new healthy fast food spot! I've had Poké in NYC and DC, but it's hard to find the same quality and experience in Hampton Roads. A HOT and NEW poke spot in Chesapeake! I have been to multiple poke spots in Hampton Roads and I never bothered to write a review, but I HAVE to give them a review. The restaurant looks modern and clean. Restroom is the cleanest I've ever seen! The sink lights up! CRAZY LOL. They offer a lot of VARIETY and the fish is SUPER FRESH. Prices are on par with other poke spots. Portion size are HUGE. The Small size was more than enough to fill me up. The staff were super friendly and helped me with choosing the sauce. Poketastic in Chesapeake is hands down the best! Due to Covid I'm have to order to go using their app, very easy to order! I always do the create your own bowl. Ingredients alway fresh and not cut to large for your mouth. I alway have special instructions and they never disappoint. I get my chips on the side so they will not get soggy with all my sauces since I live about 45 mins away from this location. I make it a point to eat there at least 3-4 time a month. I really really like the poke here as well as the choices for toppings. With that said there are some things I dont like, the customer service is lacking, the kids that work here cant remember what they are doing minute to minute. Also the menu showing the steps is backwards and everytime I'm here, it's normally my lunch break when I'm in a hurry, and the menu steps cause so much confusion which holds up the line. I mentioned this and was told "in america we read left to right"! While I understand that and I am American, when you are giving directions you would normally put the directional step above the method that you are being instructed to do, but hey thats just me. There are the only poke spot around that is customizable, and with that they have tons of customizations. Even the smallest size comes with multiple protein selections. The entirety of their food is fresh and the shop is always clean. I was soooo excited for Poketastic to open in Chesapeake because it meant I didn't have to drive to Virginia Beach anymore to get a Poke bowl! It's in a little strip right next to Lowe's off Battlefield Blvd. Plenty of parking, but be aware that it's a little difficult to get out of the shopping center because you're having to cross through 3 lanes of busy traffic. I got a medium sized bowl, and it was definitely very filling. There are plenty of things to choose to put in your bowl, and I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't too expensive despite all of my mix-ins. You have the option of toasting your protein if you're not a fan of the raw fish. I love the sauces, and you can ask for more if you need some. I'm so glad they have the Hawaiian Sun juices (don't forget to check in on Yelp for a free one) because it takes me back to my visits to Hawaii.The guys that work there are super nice. Plenty of tables for you to sit and enjoy your bowl. read more

Poketastic is undoubtedly my favorite poke' place in the Hampton Roads area. In fact, it's rated so high above the other restaurants out here that I'd bypass other places to come here. One of the main, and most important, differences are their larger "protein", sauce, and topping selections. I also greatly enjoy the quality of their fish. This restaurant is delicious! Think of it as deconstructed sushi. (NOTE: if you do not like raw fish, the staff will cook your fish before putting it on your poke bowl.) Here's how it works: you order by size--small, medium, or large poke bowl. Choose your rice or base. Choose your proteins. (There is an option for tofu if you prefer vegetarian.) Then you can combine your protein with your choice of sauce or sauces. Then you choose your toppings. For example, edamame, diced carrots, cucumber, ginger, cilantro etc. after that, you can add soy sauce, ponzu sauce, siracha-- whatever you want. The overall result is a delicious construct of your own choices. The prices are reasonable, and you get quite a lot of food. The restaurant is very clean, and the staff are polite and friendly. My whole family enjoyed eating here, and we have wildly different tastes when it comes to how we like our poke. We will go here again, and recommend it to anyone who likes sushi, and poke. read more
