I got the pork fried rice with a side of Mac salad. When I picked up my order it was ready. The lady at the counter was nice. I had asked for extra onions, which I meant extra yellow onions, but was given green onions. It was no big deal, just make sure you specify. I didn't even think about it when I asked. I had to giggle when I got my food and saw them. It was to many green onions to eat, and they were big... Lol. They have seating to dine in and I think one table outside. There's also a condiment section that has teriyaki, kalbi, and katsu sauces you can fix yourself. I think it's great that they offer that. The fried rice was good and the Mac salad complimented the rice really well. It was hot and fresh when I opened it. I enjoyed my meal. I grew up on the island of Oahu, so I miss plate lunches. When I have a craving I come here. They have BBQ chicken, manapua, beef, and loco mocos and etc on the Hawaiian side, then they have pad thai and different noodle and rice dishes on the Thai side. If you ate here before the new management took over, do yourself a favor and stay away. Unfortunately, things have changed, and not for the better. The portion sizes are smaller, and they now charge extra if you want steak or shrimp. We ordered the Pad Thai and the chicken and beef combo. The Pad Thai was soupy with very few noodles, and the portions overall were disappointing. We paid $29, and for the amount and quality of food we received, it was definitely not worth the price. This restaurant used to be our favorite Hawaiian BBQ spot, so it's really disappointing to see how much it has changed. Unfortunately, we won't be returning. I'm honestly surprised there's not more demand for Hawaiian food around here. I'd been eyeing Aloha Hawaiian BBQ for a while but was hesitant to try it because of the photos and reviews. After finally giving it a shot I can say this isn't authentic Hawaiian food. I order the Hawaii mix plate and I'm not sure what the red sauce is that they put on the food but it had a strange salty flavor that just wasn't for me. Not sure why I haven't stopped by here before with it being so close. Would like to give it like 4.5stars I personally only think one thing missed the mark for me which was the chicken Katsu, it was kinda dry, I think a thicker cut may help and the sauce was super sweet for me personally but was good to dip the musubi into. But like I said that's just personal taste. The pork buns and spam musubi were really good, would be great for a quick lunch, snack or for taking on a picnic. The Hawaiian BBQ mix was great, both the beef and chicken had really good flavor and went good with the macaroni salad. My husband wanted fries as part of his sides and they were eh not my fav but nothing to call home about. To round it all out I got a Thai tea and it was good as well. Not overly sweet like some places like to make it. The gentleman at the counter was very nice and patient with me while I checked everything out as well. I ordered the Aloha Pad Thai and the food came out rotten smelling and tasting. I took one bite of the mystery meat and immediately requested a refund. They refused to give me a refund, but offered to make me something else from the menu. If the food I was first served was that terrible, why would I want anything else? I threw my food in the trash and will be disputing the charge on my credit card. Honestly the food is so good you'll wanna slap your mama. I've been coming here for years and I'm never disappointed. I went to college in Hawaii so this is the best thing when I'm having Hawaiian good cravings. The portions are plentiful. The meat is juicy, tender and flavorful. The rice is always cooked to perfection - like that sticky rice everyone loves. I love how with this meal I get the juice to pour over my rice and how it's just enough cabbage. I've driven by this place for years, and decided to stop in to grab lunch recently. There was no patrons dining in, I saw most take-outs. I ordered the spam musubi for starters, and the BBQ mix platter with short ribs and chicken. I also ordered the Aloha tea (not pictured). The Aloha tea is just a fancy name for Thai iced tea. It was too sweet for my liking. The spam musubi costs $8.95, and it was just okay, nothing wow about it. The main entree was bad! The short ribs tasted old and it was really greasy as the pieces I got were more fat than meat. The chicken was very chewy. As for the flavor, the short ribs and chicken had a lot of Chinese bbq seasoning, yet it was lacking in flavor. The meat was way too sweet. The mashed potatoes tasted like it came from a box. There are even palm trees at the corner- felt like little hut, there are benches for outside seating. There were 2 people dining in and 3 people in succession who came in to carry out. I should have read the Yelp review for this location prior to visiting!! So we ordered chicken combo and Hawaiian BBQ mix. The order was placed in-person and eaten right away once we got back to our hotel. We were originally planning on eating in but there were roaches crawling by the entrance and some darting near our car. Well......... we were in for a disappointment once we got to taste the food. The chicken katsu came with no sauce and tasted like chewy dry cardboard. The BBQ chicken looked very brown but mostly tasted like just sugar and soy sauce for seasoning. The BBQ mix -- the kalbi, chicken, and beef all tasted the same. Just sugar and soy sauce sautéed to imperfection. None of the items were grilled. In fact, the whole meal tasted all the same except for the under seasoned chicken katsu. Were the meat tender? NO! Macaroni salad tasted ok except it was rather mushy and overly sweet. The mashed potato was ok. The rice was probably the best part of the meal as I just used the furikake I bought from the Ichiban Japanese store nearby. So sad! I enjoyed my lunch at Aloha Hawaiian BBQ. I ordered the Aloha tea for my beverage and it was tasty. For my meal, I got the short ribs with a side of macaroni and rice. I enjoyed the flavor of the ribs, they were marinated nicely. The macaroni salad was yummy and nicely combined with the other flavors of the dish. Place is decorated with vibrant colors and Hawaiian decor. Service was okay. For dessert I tried the coconut custard. It was warm and sweet. Parking was ample, place wasn't too busy for a Saturday. The service provided by the Asian lady at the counter was very rude and unprofessional, i.e. the price at the menu board says $11.95 for the chicken or beef Pad Thai, but I was charged $12.95, a dollar more, she did not charge me the correct price, and was very SARCASTIC saying "It's only $2.00 more for the Shrimp Pad Thai, why don't you just get the shrimp Pad Thai? She looked at me like I'm too cheap or frugal. As a customer, I have the right to ask for the price and make my decision to pick whatever I want to order, without her interfering and making nasty and infuriating comments. That's NOT acceptable and it's not okay. She needs more behavioral and customer orientation training, or find a different career that she's not dealing with a customer because she is definitely RUDE and out of bounds. Been trying to find a good Hawaiian BBQ spot and was recommended Aloha. I had tried another place a couple weeks ago and won't be going back there. I went late at night about an hour to closing so I'm going to blame it on that for the quality of food. In short, wasn't impressed. Meat was a bit overcooked and the BBQ beef was very tough like jerky. Had to use extra teriyaki sauce on the chicken and the short ribs were very salty. Decent Mac salad. I'm hoping to change this rating and come back during the day. I read the other reviews and people talked about the service and I would have to agree. Not very personable but was kind. I grew up in Hawaii, so I was so excited to finally have something that reminded me of my time there. The excitement was short lived. I ordered the Kalbi with rice and Mac salad, spam Musubi, and a manapua. The only thing that tasted good was the rice. The Kalbi just tasted weird. The sauce did not remind me of Hawaiian BBQ. The Mac salad was more like a regular macaroni salad that you can buy at any store. How can you mess up spam Musubi? I didn't think you can, but this one wasn't that great. I try to find the good in every place that I go to and I guess in this case, my cousin, who recommended this place, really enjoys the Chicken Katsu. I left so disappointed and still hungry. I called to place a pickup order at 7:30pm. I really wanted a Hawaiian BBQ combo plate but the lady over the phone said that they only had the BBQ chicken left so I went with that. I ordered two, one for me and one for my boyfriend. Side of rice and side of macaroni salad comes with it or you can substitute mashed potatoes or French fries per the online menu. They said to come in before they closed at 8. I was a little surprised because everywhere online said closed at 9. Good thing I called at the time I did so I would recommend calling to place your order so you don't get there bd they're closed. Maybe it's covid hours but I didn't see any signs when I pulled up. They told me that their macaroni salad and their food is better than L&L. So I decided to give this restaurant another try. I ordered the Shrimp and Chicken BBQ combo with Macaroni Salad (of course). I was surprised to see that the chicken bbq has a reddish flavor. It was dry and not flavorful. The fried shrimps were Breaded and I liked the breading, however it seems that they were over cooked and dry. Compared the the chicken bbq, the shrimp has more flavor in it. The Macaroni Salad was a different issue. Just like what my coworkers told me, it was good and has a lot of flavor. The only thing that I didn't like was that it wasn't cold. For me, Macaroni Salad should be served cold and not room temperature. I'm not sure if I will ever be back. read more

Omg. Born n raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. I was so excited to try the Hawaiian restaurant out. I had the BBQ combo plate and my hubby got the Kailua Pork. Short ribs were ok, the beef tasted old. Chicken was dry. And why is there red food coloring in the meats? Cabbage on the bottom was cooked and oily/greasy. Cabbage is supposed to be raw and shredded...to soaked up with the meat juices which was not even present. My husband's Kailua pork was sweet. It's not supposed to be sweet at all. Weird tasting.
