Great green tea, great service, great vibes, and it makes you feel like your in an indie video game, stopping to rest in a dimly lit homey restaurant, eating great sushi.

My food was delicious! My waiter was very friendly and attentive! The atmosphere is very relaxing. I really enjoyed my lunch here the other day. Check them out!

All I have to say is WOW! We lived in Japan for 2 years, and never thought we'd find as good of sushi as we had living in Japan. We were so pleasantly surprised! Could not stop eating the sushi! It was so good! All our rolls had real meat (no imitation), and was better than described. We definitely plan to eat again! I have family visiting tomorrow, and I just might change our dinner plans to takeout from YamaChens.

Best sushi I've had in a long time! It was fresh and crispy. I got the lunch special order of volcano roll (pictures). Lunch special came with edamame, white rice, gyoza, seaweed salad and your choice of vegetables (I chose the house salad) all for $13. Great service as well and a nice calm ambience. will be back to curb all my sushi cravings.

I ordered from this place off grubhub so this review is based on delivery. I ordered the shrimp tempura roll and the Hawaiian roll as well as fried shrimp dumplings? (I forgot the name). When I placed my order the wait for delivery was about 30-40 min but it came in about 20 which was great! The items came in organized Tupperware and the silverware was packaged very well. As for the food it was great! Great presentation AND taste. The rice was sweet and the rolls came with edemame. :) the avocado was fresh too! Overall 10/10 place. Seems well managed and the cooks are great

I decided to stop at Yama because I was craving sushi & it was very conveniently located in the same shopping center as my dog's groomer! I was interested in their lunch specials until I realized the lunch box was just a small bit of salad, one or two half sushi rolls and a scoop of white rice. Many other places I've been to offer a bit more with the lunch boxes, ie. miso soup, 1 or 2 pieces of gyoza... So I opted for a few items a la carte.. The Shrimp Tempura Appetizer was plentiful and very good. The miso soup was typical miso soup & then I had a Hawaii roll as well, which was warm & very good. I did like the complimentary small edamame appetizer & bite of ice cream sandwich dessert! Very nice touch :)

Please do not try this location. The food is terrible, and the smell of their sushi made me sick. It smells like old seafood.....

Ordered takeout. A little lackluster honestly. Too much sauce on the sushi rolls. Overpowered the flavor.

We were seeking something quiet yet with a delicious menu which this place had that exactly. The restaurant is very small but has plenty of space to accommodate small or larger parties. The staff from the moment entering to leaving were extremely kind and eager to assist. The menu has tons to offer which is a nice change compared to other sushi/hibachi spots. The beef teriyaki bento box was delicious. My husband loved his chicken yakisoba bowl. We loved the metal cups, they kept our drinks ice cold and prevented the sweaty cups you normally get at other places. We will absolutely be back in the future. Thank you!

Imagine my surprise when I find out that it wasn't a December special and I can order a candy cane roll year round. I ordered this roll and a teriyaki salmon bento box. Everything was fantastic. The salmon has a great glaze and was cooked to perfection. The dinner box was a huge portion (especially with the additional sushi roll) so I had lunch the next day. The staff are always very friendly and there are never enough people in here for how good this place is.

Prices aren't too bad and it's not as busy. They also have authentic Japanese seating. We got the katsudon and some sushi and that was pretty good. Can't go along with a good rice bowl and beer.

So I recently went to Daikichi Sushi. I hadn't been there since a few years ago and honestly back…read morethen, went there looking for great ramen. I wasn't impressed and didn't return. So I went back for their sushi as it felt unfair to rate them on ramen when their specialty was sushi. There are very few sushi places actually owned and run by Japanese outside of big cities, people rave about this place, and I'm all for supporting them. I did order the ramen again hoping it changed. It was ok, but I resigned it is not the place for ramen. However, I will say their sushi and other appetizers are great, no lie. But my recent visit left a bad taste despite their great food. When we arrived, about 6pm, the waitress told me and my teenage daughter, "only the bar was available". There were 2 4-person tables that could be separated for a table for 2. And I noticed 2 couples already there sitting at 4 person tables. So I asked the waitress why are they seated at the tables? She said they arrived earlier and now they need to keep the tables open Ok, I get that, even though they only opened an hour ago. It's Saturday night, so I'll go with that. Well, shortly after putting in our order at the bar, I see them seat 2 people at one of the 4-person tables. And then shortly after that, they separated the other 4 seater into 2 tables and sat 2 more couples that arrived at each table. Now, I'm raising an eyebrow. I didn't say anything but before I left, I said to the waitress, I couldn't help but notice there were several couples seated at tables after us. She said oh, that couple knows the owner, referring to the first couple seated at a 4 person table (they didn't even separate the table). Ok I figured that when the owner gave a loud and enthusiastic good bye to them and the diner looked Japanese. I replied to the waitress, but then you all seated 2 more couples and pulled the table apart to accommodate them. She replied that the boss ordered them to separate the tables but he rarely does. I replied that we had arrived well before any of those 3 couples and were told we couldn't sit at the table. She just shrugged as if to say she was just following the boss' order. I left the usual 20% tip because I know the waitress didn't make the decision and she gave great service and the sushi was great. However, that said, the blatant preference of other customers felt insulting and left a super disappointing taste in my mouth. And no, they were not all Japanese. Just that one diner. The owner clearly picked and chose to not give us a table, for whatever biased reason. I could understand if I were alone or my daughter was 8, but she looks clearly like an adult. It just really sat wrong with me and left me upset enough that I question returning. It's very unfortunate that an otherwise great experience was marred by this blatant refusal to seat my daughter and I at a table, only to have salt rubbed into the wound by seating numerous couples that followed at a table, by separating the tables. They didn't even offer to seat us at the traditional tables, all of which were empty at the time we arrived. To me, the authentic Japanese sushi was not worth the insulting unexplained preference to seat other customers after us at a table. PS: the only sushi roll I didn't like was the real crab California roll. The real crab was grey and cold and tasted so fishy, I asked to make sure it was cooked real crab and not raw. (They said it was cooked). I guess I was expecting real Alaska crab white crab and it was not this at all.
