I've been eating here for so long and the food is good. However, I noticed management has gotten more strict. They no longer have the water cups out right as summer is about to start. As well as they are going to start charging more for their additional mix-ins. I feel sorry for the employees that have to deal with this and it seems like they are overworked and are always alone on shift. The employees are the only thing keeping the restaurant going. I recently tried Poketeology and overall, it was an okay experience. But unfortunately, the service really missed the mark. First and foremost, when you're working somewhere with that many sauces and custom options, I feel like a server should at least be knowledgeable and willing to guide newcomers. A little engagement goes a long way. Instead, it felt like she was just standing there waiting for me to hurry up and order while I was clearly trying to figure out all the choices. I asked to sample their Japan sauce. She handed it to me without any warning. What I didn't realize was that it's heavy on olive oil and wasabi. If you know WASABI, you know it doesn't "spice" your tongue -- IT SHOOTS STRAIGHT UP YOUR NOSE. I immediately started coughing like crazy. A simple "Hey, just a heads up, this one has a strong wasabi kick" would've been nice. When I mentioned that she could've warned me, she just chuckled and didn't really acknowledge it. Not the best customer service moment. Then when I ordered fried pork, she asked what sauce I wanted. I was scanning the menu and didn't see teriyaki listed, so I asked if they had it. She casually grabbed it from behind the counter. If teriyaki is available (and pretty standard with fried pork), why make it seem like it's not even an option on the menu? It just added to the confusion. Food itself... It's decent. Not amazing, not terrible. The fish options are just alright. It's not the freshest I've had, but good enough to get by without worrying about getting sick. It satisfies a craving, but it's not somewhere I'd hype up as top-tier poke. read more

For a Friday night, this place was dead. It's walking distance from CSUSB. There were only two other customers when we were there, neither of whom ate there. The bathroom is locked, accessible with a key from behind the counter. Moderately loud music was playing. We ordered poke bowls, mine a small and my wife's a medium. Mine was plenty for a meal. Yes, the fish portions are very small, but there is a whole 1/4 inch pan full of the different kinds of fish out in the window. The Thai tea was just awful. The ginger utensil was dirty, so I can just assume they weren't cleaned or replaced around the clock. There were small residues on the fish that I noticed and the cashier kept trying to give me scoops, that didn't look the prettiest. I do not recommend this place at all. This was the worst poke I've ever had. The meat tasted old, and everything was overpriced. I asked for avocado and was given the smallest piece. I also asked for ginger on my bowl, but they put it on the wrong one and even forgot the eel sauce. The pineapple tasted like it came from a can and was discolored. Have been coming here since it opened. I did an inspection (for my work) on this property, and it's super clean and always fresh food. The sauces are sooo good and a large variety of toppings. The portions are really big! Whenever I'm in town I don't miss the opportunity to grab a bowl. The owner is really nice and always says hello. If you know, you know! It's the go to spot for the neighborhood. Beautiful location basically on the CSUSB campus. Love this spot!! read more

Acceptable experience. The facility is brightly lit and clean. The food is fresh and there are some unique options. As far as poke goes, it is pretty good. The main downsides are the price (just a smidge more expensive than other places) and they are skimpy with the proteins. Would I go again? This place has gone down within a year! I go to school across the street and would always hit by this place weekly. I am friends with some of the workers and the service was great. HOWEVER, recently there have been new workers and they gave the SMALLEST portions they can give. I asked for a little bit more cucumber and the worker said the company is limiting the amounts you can get. The scoops of meat r like 3-4 pieces each scoop compared to back then where they wouldn't count how many pieces and just scoop a full scoop for you. The salmon also tastes more fishy than normal. I dont think I can come back here weekly with the increase of prices and the portions being cut in half. I got a small two scoops of protein bowl, one Ahi tuna and one regular salmon. I had a free sample of the cream salmon and it was very mid. I appreciate them letting me sample it because I definitely did not put it in my bowl. It was saucy but didn't taste like much. It was underwhelming. My bowl also came with rice, edamame, cucumbers, imitation crab meat, furikake seasoning and eel sauce. I could've had cabbage, pineapple, green onions, mango, corn and jalapeno but I didn't want it. Instead of the crab meat, I could've gotten seaweed salad but I opted for the crab because I prefer that. The crab meat, avocado and seaweed salad amongst other things were part of the limited topping section that they only allow for you to have one before having to pay extra. It was a bussin poke bowl. It wasn't the best I've ever had but it was good enough. I was however starving so that might've made it taste better than I expected. They were generous with their crab which I appreciated. The cashier was really sweet. She asked if we wanted free samples and was very patient because I was very indecisive. She made sure we knew about all the options that we could've gotten on our bowl. I appreciated the thoroughness and explanations a lot. They have a public restroom but I didn't test it. There was a ton of seating. When we went on a Thursday at 4:30 pm, the place was absolutely empty. The interior was cute. I would sit there again. The potions are abysmal. I feel awful for the staff or forced to charge $20 for a small bowl of poke. Also, the scoop for the ahi tuna is significantly smaller than the other scoops. This use to be my favorite place, i would come twice a week. The portions use to be so good, they would fill it up to the top! But now, they barely fill it up. they use to barely be able to close the lid, and now the bowl is like half way filled and all rice. And, one scoop of fish, is almost $15!!! Yuck. There was 1 thing right with this entire bowl. The salmon. I had no idea they put sauces on top instead of mixing it with the fish. First thing I noticed was the seaweed salad on top. The seaweed salad was drenched in Mayo. No lie, it looked like it was actually mixed/made with spicy Mayo. I ordered 3 sauces, spicy Mayo, sesame and eel. All I could taste was MAYO, everywhere. Not the yummy mix of Mayo and sriracha, that is supposed to be semi spicy and tasty. Writing this has me gagging it was everywhere and there was SO much of it. Following, I noticed the avocado, thinking maybe it was lost under all the Mayo... nope I got 1 thin sliver of avocado, that I was charged for. at least it was fresh. The fish. Tuna, awful! Chewy, old, gray. No beautiful pink/purpley/red, like it should be. I picked every piece out that I could find. The salmon was yummy and fresh. It was thankfully hidden under all the toppings so it was saved from the Mayo explosion. Lastly, there were no options for ginger or dry toppings like sesame seeds, or furikake. I love coming here ! The food is A M A Z I N G. The staff is KIND. And the service is OUTSTANDING. The owners are really kind and welcoming whenever I walk through the door. When I use doordash and order food from here, I always leave a comment and they always follow through. Example I put "extra Spicy Mayo please " and legit they put in that extra extra !! The portions are big 10/10. And sometimes if you ask kindly can they hookup your bowl they will follow through. But don't forget to leave a tip! Anyways the restraunt is clean and pretty.
