The chef put on very little of the entertaining performance that Benihana is known for, with most of the demonstration consisting of repeatedly tapping his spatula on the grill. Overall, it lacked the energy and engagement we were expecting. The bigger issue, however, was the food quality. While eating, my niece discovered a small white hair in her meal. We informed the manager, who suggested it may have come from the rice and offered a $20 discount. We continued eating, but less than five minutes later my sister found another hair in her steak. We then had to speak with a different manager, who offered to reduce the cost of that entrée. Despite these issues, our final bill was still over $400. At that price point, I expected much better food quality, service, and overall attention to detail. It was a disappointing first experience, and unfortunately it did not meet the standard I expected from Benihana.
