Been to Pokeworks a handful of times. Their main focus is poke bowls. The bowls come with either a rice or salad base. Then you can choose from 2 or 3 proteins and add in all the mixins. If you can't decide what to put in it they also have preset signature bowls. The food is pretty fresh and I usually order the sauces on the side so you can control how much or little you want to add in there. They have a rewards program so you can earn as you order. Their rewards include free food or drink items depending how many points you have. I have also tried some of their drinks. The POG drink was good but sweet. I also tried their ube milk tea with boba which was not my favorite. I had to knock a star off since the boba was not quite done correctly. It was not as soft in the middle as boba should be. Overall it's pretty average for a poke bowl place. Their prices are on the higher side. Got for the food, but skip the bubble tea. read more

Was in the area and looking for a healthy option for the kiddos and stumbled across this place. Quaint little spot in the middle of Woodbury Plaza. We ordered the chicken chicken huli plate and the teriyaki salmon plate and it did not disappoint! The fish was super fresh and the portions generous, making it a perfect quick lunch without feeling heavy. They even threw in a Hawaiian hot plate side with furikake mac salad, which added a nice creamy twist. Service was friendly and fast - the staff customized my bowl just how I wanted without missing a beat. I was feeling poke today so I decided to stop by the Woodbury location. I got my usual customized poke bowl with white rice, salmon & tuna, assorted toppings, and spicy aioli and classic sauce. In my opinion, I think this is the best poke spot in the area and I always make sure to stop by this specific location. They took my order rather quickly, which I appreciated because they usually handle online orders before me. The ambiance was a bit empty today, but that's probably because I didn't stop by normal lunch or dinner time. Just a side note, make sure to not get the "heavy" option for sauce because mine was drenched and was more on the soupy side. Completely my fault though because I ordered that but didn't expect it to be like that. Get either the normal or light option. Miso Soup: Honestly...wasn't it for it. The flavor just wasn't there. It was hot still which was good but it was missing something and I couldn't put my finger on it. I would not order this specific item again. Garlic Spam Musubi: I should've ordered more. One was not enough to satisfy my love for these. Each bite was more flavorful than the last. Now I don't know why these hit so good but man the seasoning was amazing. Hands down one the best things I've eaten. I will probably just place an order for specifically this item. Once again, Nassau county gets all the good spots! This is probably the best Poke I had in a long time, Pokeworks has the process down. Its the same concept as Chipotle, you start at one end and work your way down the line. I didn't want to get all loopy with the line items so I chose their speciality bowl, the Hawaiian Classic. First they ask for the base, White Rice or Brown. I like brown rice. Then in a separate bowl they take fresh ahi tuna and mix it up with green and sweet onions, some seaweed, a little cucumber, chili flakes, sesame seeds, roasted sesame oil, their pokeworks classic sauce and finally hawaiian salt. Once everything is married together? I'm given a bowl of Poke Love. Making my way down the line, my server asks what type of crunchy toppings I would like on my creation. They have 10 choices, it's a little overwhelming but I asked for Wonton Chips. Just say you didn't want a signature bowl? Easy Peasy! Pokeworks has bowls made your own way as well as a fat burrito or a simple salad. There are many protein choices, from Tuna, Tofu, Salmon, Scallops, Shrimp, Chicken and of course Ahi Tuna. I went with a bowl with brown rice. It's interesting how it's done here. The rice is in one bowl. Then your proteins and toppings in a other. Then everything from the second bowl gets poured onto what is in the first bowl. I don't see why. Just put everything in a bowl at once. It's more environmentally friendly. Stop wasting bowls. For my proteins I went with spicy salmon, spicy tuna and regular salmon. It was honestly just average. Nothing wowed me or wooed me. For my toppings I got cucumber, mango, seaweed salad and avocado. The toppings were fresh. It's an extra $1.50 for avocado. I understand avocado is extra, but I feel $1.50 is a little too extra for the amount that they give. I found a LIVE BUG in my poke as I was half done with my bowl I went to the manager and he just stared at me with an empty gaze "like well what do you want from me" he offered me to make a new bowl (from the same batch that had the bug in it) and that was the best he could do. Now Pokéworks has come along and changed that entire perception. Unbelievably fresh fish, variety of toppings, and endless possibilities (keto and low carb friendly). The juxtaposition of the hot rice and the cold add-ons makes for the perfect temperature of a poke sushi bowl. For my first time I got the spicy ahi bowl, which I wholeheartedly enjoyed and recommend. It definitely had a kick so beware. I keep it easy on the sauce for a low cal option and I believe all the pre-made speciality options are pretty good. Also, note that the bowls come with a very generous portion of rice and fish that will leave you full for the entire day. All the good poke flavor without the hustle and insanity of the city. Similar to other locations, the one in Woodbury has a plethora of options for one to try. The fish is fresh, the service is friendly and most importantly, the crowd is well, not really a crowd. The place is comfortable and doesn't have that many people which makes the experience so much better. As for the food, it was what you would expect. The Lava Bowl was really good and the spice level was actually really good. They also had a nice selection of beverages from the fountain that were unique and really fit the ethos of the place. I've been to Pokeworks a few times in Manhattan and I'm glad they've finally made it out to Long Island. After a terrible poke bowl experience in Orlando, I drove out to try a poke bowl from here. I was actually surprised by how affordable it was, since I was used to Pokeworks pricing in midtown Manhattan. For less than $12, I was able to choose two proteins over a bed of white rice. They had so many mix-ins and toppings that I started getting self-conscious about how many I was choosing. I love that they correctly mix the proteins, sauce, and mix-ins prior to placing it all over the rice. A few poke places I've been to recently had been lazy and not doing that, instead just putting fish and mix-ins directly on top of the rice without mixing first. Not here at Pokeworks! I was very impressed by their selection of additions for the bowl at no extra charge. They do charge extra for avocado, but that's understandable considering avocado is an expensive item. The taste was very good. I went with two portions of salmon and used both the ponzu fresh and the wasabi aioli sauces. I felt the sauces were not flavorful enough to really bring out the flavor of the fish and impart some flavor on the mix-ins and the rice below. Also went for a miso soup here, which was okay. It's just premade miso soup. Check in on yelp and get a free tea. They have six flavors of organic teas. Their grand opening is on March 15th and they're having a BOGO special! read more

TLDR: great poke, free tea on checkin, definitely worth revisiting, give them time to improve since they opened very recently. This is the third pokeworks that I have visited and the first pokeworks that I've seen on Long Island. Out of the three I have visited (34th/Penn and 42/Grand Central) I would rank this as second place with Grand Central taking the lead. Do not get me wrong, if you never had poke from this franchise you should definitely visit for an amazing experience. Upon walking in, I noticed the place was so new that you could smell it in the air (kind of like the smell of wood or a Home Depot). I was pleased to see that they offer a free iced tea with yelp check in, which is something the other pokeworks do NOT OFFER. They also accept the level up promotions so frequent discounts and free bowls can be applied at this restaurant. Anyway, I ordered my usual choice: a custom made poke burrito with spicy tuna and salmon. My siblings also got burritos with different kinds of salmon and toppings. I encourage them and I encourage you to experiment with toppings you are interested in. My burrito came out pretty good and I was for the most part satisfied with it. I give the pokeburrito a 4.5/5. It was light, flavorful, fresh, and delicious. My iced tea, (had the word stone fruit haymaker farmer) was unique, herbal, not to sweet, and very addicting. One thing that I think should be significantly improved are the finer details of the restaurant. One of the main things was that the spicy tuna and salmon did not look like the same items at other pokeworks (the other places have visible cubes of marinated tuna while this place had a slop like appearance). EDIT: I kindly asked a worker to SPREAD the wasabi out in the burrito so I don't eat an entire wad of wasabi. He rolled his eyes and said when he rolls it, the wasabi would "spread out". Both I and my friend took one bite and had an entire wad of wasabi in our mouths that severely ruined the experience. I hope the owner sees this and can fix this in the training because many of the pokeworks I go to, spread out the wasabi. I also think the staff could use some improvement/practice. When I walked in I ordered a burrito with one woman, and another employee kept insisting that I order even though I already ordered. There was also some miscommunication when paying with level up for two separate orders. Regardless they did make an effort and did their best. I would definitely visit again and again and again. The free tea is one thing that brings me back. The food and tea was delicious. The convenience of going here instead of the city is great too! read more

I've came here multiple times before- and the quality of the ingredients are great and super fresh! They are pretty generous and give huge portions. They're located in the Woodbury plaza so parking is easy to find. The place itself is always kept super clean as well. I would recommend getting a poke salad w/ either the ponzu fresh sauce or the umani shoyu sauce if you're looking for something light. If you want something more filling, get the poke bowl! I recently tried the poke burrito, and it's my least favorite of all. They don't give nearly as much as they do in the bowls sadly I won't recommend it unless you've never tried it before. Unfortunately, I can never eat in this place again. I have gotten really sick the past two times. The first time, I couldnt be sure that it was the poke. Now that is twice in a row that I got very bad stomach cramps and diarrhea, it's for sure. Be careful. Pokeworks is the real deal. After trying a number of different poke places in the area and being very disappointed (I actually reviewed another poor poke place mistakenly as Pokeworks a few months ago and deleted that review), I finally found out why people love poke so much. At Pokeworks the ingredients are all fresh, the portions are nice, the service is fast, and in today's COVID environment the place is spotlessly clean. My new infatuation with this establishment has lead me there four times in the past two weeks for lunch (I also like the fact that they have a rewards card that gives you a free poke bowl on your tenth bowl - I'll get there fast, lol). At $12-$15 it's not cheap, but it's not that much more expensive then most fast food places and you can't compare how wonderfully fresh everything is at Pokeworks. The menu and setup is typical for a poke restaurant. You choose your base, proteins, sauce, and add/ons -or- you can order one of their "featured items" in which all the choices are made based upon a flavor theme. Poke can be a very healthy meal, but you have to be careful. If you load up on heavy sauces or fried ingredients your healthy lunch can grow to more calories then a Big Mac and fries. I had been going with a base of sushi rice, ahi tuna & salmon, and a few of the healthier add ons like hijiki, seaweed salad, edamame, and plain soy sauce. Even that got a little heavy as it was a lot of rice, so I switched the base to 1/2 sushi rice and 1/2 salad which is a perfect mix. If you like poke or have been thinking about trying it, Pokeworks is definitely the place to go. It is much better than any other poke I have tried on Long Island. Enjoy! read more

This is the most gloriously fresh food! Sweet yet savory, poké is the ultimate healthful comfort food. I've ordered from them a few times. The DIY poké bowl is my favorite. I recommend going light on the flavoring - otherwise, it's too soupy. I like getting brown rice and kale noodles together as a base. The kale noodles are salty and savory, while the rice is plain. The fish is all outstandingly fresh, though sometimes I like to mix it up with tofu for the protein. There are a lot of interesting toppings to add texture, ingredients to add heat or sweetness. I like mango and orange in mine. The garlic Spam musubi was a total revelation - it's warm and salty and REALLY garlicky. Also a great comfort food, so much so that I've ordered sushi rice, a musubi mold, garlic soy sauce and low-sodium Spam so I can make it at 2am, when Pokeworks is closed!! I may add pineapple, too... Pokeworks is my go-to poke spot in the city when I used to work there. I know that there are so many poke places now, but pokeworks will always be my favorite. My aunt lives in the area, so when I was looking for places to eat and this place popped out, I was so shocked. I didn't think they'd open a pokeworks in LI. To be fair, I always thought they'd open in Queens or something first, but hey, I'm not complaining. It's in the plaza near my aunt's house so for dinner, I stopped by with my young cousin who has just started to love sashimi. The place is super young and modern and it's a medium sized space. We got takeout on a Sunday and when we stopped in, it seemed most people were ordering takeout too. The girl behind the counter taking our order was super sweet and patient with my cousin who didn't have much a preference (we were making our own bowls). I got a salad bowl with salmon and tuna with toppings and my cousin had the same, but with brown rice. Everything was great and my cousin absolutely loved her bowl (HER FIRST POKE BOWL!). The fish was fresh, which is expected from pokeworks. I'm a Queens girl myself so seeing Pokeworks open in LI was interesting and kind of random for me.
