This place is soooo good. I come here often for my sushi fix. Ordered a chicken satay for the appetizer and it was bomb. Just make sure you aren't allergic to peanuts. otherwise, the sauce they give you to dip it in is otherworldly. I tried 3 of their specialty rolls on my most recent trip. The Crazy Roll (spicy tuna, yellowtail, salmon, crunch, avocado & cucumber) delivered a nice spicy kick with great texture from the crunch. The Super Dragon Roll (panko eel, avocado topped with julienne crab and red tobiko) was rich and satisfying. The panko gave it a nice crunch while the toppings brought sweetness and color. The Sweetheart Roll was a solid pick too, with a good balance of tempura, crab, and the smoked salmon/cooked shrimp on top. The fish tasted fresh overall, rice was properly seasoned, and the presentations were appealing. Service was friendly and the spot has a comfortable vibe for a casual sushi dinner. Portions are satisfying without being overwhelming. After I finished, I felt satiated but not stuffed. I'm ready to come back again to try more rolls. Give this place a shot! read more

Kado is one of my family's go-to for take out sushi since it's always so quick and easy! The Party Trays are also super nice for any big group gathering and they're willing to switch out any rolls you don't like/double up on others instead. The service is also really fast and the waitress is really nice. I've also come a couple of times for lunch with friends and the place usually isn't packed. Their sushi is pretty good for what it is and is just a classic for a night you don't want to make dinner. So heads up - items can be a little above average for Chinese fusion. The beef - too big in size and chewy - was not worth it and we ended up eating the broccoli mostly instead. The lomein isn't the typical fatter noodle but a thinner one. But it was good nonetheless; the shrimp on side note were big shrimps in size. A year ago, I might have given Kado a three-star review. A few months ago, a four. Now my dear Kado, I am upgrading you to the coveted five-star status. The magical roll is just that. Magical. I don't want to even venture out into new roll territory because I love this roll so much. It is comprised of eggplant, spicy tuna, avocado and a sweet miso glaze. Oh boy, could I go for this roll right now. Awesome. The spicy girl roll is also very good. Spicy salmon, tuna, yellowtail and avocado with crunch. Mmmmm! The black pepper tuna roll was also good, as was the Eric roll (this was a special so I don't remember what exactly was on it - you can check the board upon entering). Edamame and green tea is pretty standard. The interior leaves a bit to be desired. I don't know if I am a fan of the neon and disco ball upon entering, but it doesn't really bother me THAT much. The service was really great one time, and then another time, the waitress remarked a few times that we must be hungry, saying, "You ordered so much food! Are you going to eat all of that?" Umm...yes, yes we are. Two special rolls, two regular rolls, and an order of edamame split between two people. Is this a lot of food? Is this pigging out on sushi times? I'd like to think not, because this is typically what we order at whatever sushi joint we happen to hit up when the sushi craving calls. Although sometimes we swap out the edamame for steamed dumplings. Mmmm...steamed dumplings. Anyway, sushi here is wonderful, atmosphere is OK and service has the chance to be wonderful. But please, fellow sushi patrons, I am curious to see if what we order is over abundant. One of my usual work week lunch spots. I usually get either 2 lunch sushi rolls for 8.95 or 3 lunch sushi rolls for 10.95... I always get the eel avocado which I recommend. Today I opted for one eel roll and tried the shrimp pad Thai. Really good and seasoned well. Service is super quick which is great for a lunch break... Only problem was that when I asked that both fried ice creams containers have ice on top of them, instead I got a cup of ice in a separate bag and my fried ice cream melted on top of my miso soup. Best General Tso's chicken on Long Island. I've had it everywhere else and no, it didn't measure up !!! The god blessed meat seems to be a HUGE problem everywhere. Environment is ok but the sushi is fairly awful. The sloppy preparation of the food saw fish bones still intact in my salmon sashimi. But as far as the sushi goes.. didn't seem that fresh. Everyone else's glowing reviews made me choose this place but i've had better sushi. The nori paper was tough and the sushi itself tasted slightly fishy so it probably wasn't fresh. The soup was the same as all the other miso soups and the salad was fresh but the lettuce was unfortunately wet and not dried enough. i'll go elsewhere for sushi. In addition to my daughter not eating meat, my family does not eat pork and therefore would never order it. When we called them to inform them of this news, they accused us of specifically asking for pork, and not once apologized for their unprofessionalism. I have been to Kado more times then I can count. It is in a good location and the service/food is always consistent. Their lunch specials are definitely worth it. soup, salad, roll, and a main meal for under 10 bucks. You leave feeling full and happy. I personally enjoy the sesame chicken with green beans and rice. The portion is big and I can never finish it all. I enjoy their miso soup. Nice flavor unlike some other places where it tastes like dirty dish water. I also like that they take the time to do straw designs. (twist the wrapper really tight in a swirly motion on the straw) so they probably contaminate the straw in the process but I haven't gotten sick yet. That is pretty much it. We frequented this restaurant in the past, so decided to give it a try again...the food was good until I noticed black particles in my Chicken dish likely residue from the wok, not cleaned properly between use. But then I noticed a black particle, that when I looked closer, to my horror was a dead bug...appeared to be a small flying one, but to make sure I unfortunately had to give it a second look.
