A hidden gem that I didn't realize was so close to me! Uber Eats is doing a special where you get $3 off an order of $15 or more. I ordered a large bowl with 5 scoops (all salmon) with extra avocado and it came out to be $15. The salmon tasted really fresh and it got me full easily. It's both my lunch and dinner! The avocado serving is small but it was only 50 cents compared to most places that would charge a dollar, so if you're an avocado lover like me than I would order double. I ordered brown rice which tasted very mild and not grainy, which I liked. The salmon although the portion was generous, was cut very small for some reason. Dam, I hate writing bad reviews but I have to say something so hopefully the business will learn. This is what I witnessed from behind another customer. Young guy with a cap took my order, and the first thing I noticed was he wiped his forehead with his hand. I don't know if it was sweat or grease, but but that's not a big deal. I thought he was going to put gloves on but nope, he grabbed a bowl, with his ungloved hand and placed the fingers into the bowl to hold it. Then he proceeded to throw on a glove. The next part was okay, he would scoop protein etc, everything looks good. Customer get's their order and the food hander grabs a lid for the bowl, pushes the lid(the same side that touches the food) onto his shirt and places on top of the food. Aside from this guy, who made me cringe. The food I ordered, was pretty good, it seemed like the other food handlers were good. Honestly, the situation didn't sit right with me, not just in covid times but I hoping they can read this review and address these concerns. I will definitely come back, the food was good, but i'd definitely request a different food handler. Like the concept, and everything was good, and the place was clean. Then when selecting my protien, he was running really low on salmon, but he offered to cut me up more if I wanted more. Typically I would be told "sorry we're out," but he had an eagerness to ensure he had a happy customer. The food itself was delicious. All the fish I got (salmon, tuna, spicy tuna, and scallops) was very fresh tasting and was still cold, as were the toppings. This poke spot is by far the most fair poke place for the price, portion, and quality. What made me write this review was the owner asking me what it was that drew me in. He then told me he recently purchased the place and is trying to strategize and generate new traffic. He cares about his business and his customers. I tried this place out because it is super close to my work and it's a healthy option over Jack in the Box and Del Taco that is also in this plaza. I would give this place closer to a 3.5 star rating. C'mon Yelp, add the option for half stars A regular 2 scoop bowl is $8 before tax which includes one scoop of avocado, seaweed, and imitation crab. There are not as many fish options like other places, most notably, they don't have yellowtail. Options are tuna, spicy tuna, salmon, albacore, small shrimp, and tamago. This place also has chicken and beef options which costs the same. Portion size is so-so, it's on the lower scale as far as portion sizes go at these Poke places. I think I would get the 3 scoop bowl next time. Fish was fresh, so no complaints on that. As far as flavor, the way they do their poke is they scoop the fish on top of the rice/salad and then squirt whatever sauce you like on top before putting on the other toppings. I prefer it when they scoop the fish into a bowl, squirt the sauce on it, and then put the fish on the rice/salad. The way they do it, the sauce doesn't get a chance to infuse into the fish. Overall it was ok, it's worth a try if you're craving poke and you work nearby. If you're willing to drive further, I would recommend going to Pokelicious on Rosemead Blvd, or Poke Bar in Arcadia. read more

The food here is good. But customer service is not that great. One time I made a phone order. I came to pick it up and the 3 asian guys working here did not once look up or say a single word. The person in front of me also came in for pickup and we both looked at each other a few times bc the staff never said anything to us. Thankfully, this one is pretty decent. While the fish is a little fresher than most of the poke places around the San Gabriel Valley, I kind of felt that collectively as a whole .. the bowl was pretty bland even with ponzu and spicy sauce. While you can taste the fish when you take the bite, that flavor kind of disappears because it blends in with the taste of everything else; everything started to taste muddled with only highlights of certain flavors for a brief moment. My go-to poke place. It's in a business plaza where mainly corporate workers go so outside of lunch hours it's usually empty and makes grabbing a quick meal easy. Parking is never a problem there's always a spot right in front of the store. Service is solid they're usually all really nice and personable. The fish is always fresh. I've never had an issue with the taste, smell, or texture which is what keeps me coming back because I'm picky when it comes to raw fish. I usually get the salmon and it has the perfect firmness. If you know me you know I don't enjoy tuna because of the gritty texture, but I enjoy the tuna here. The portions do depend on the worker that day, but usually, they're bigger AND cheaper than most places. The sauces are standard but solid. I usually get a combo of spicy, eel, and spicy mayo which is my preferred way to enjoy mainland poke. The thai tea is standard nothing special about it. With all the recent poke places opening up everywhere, I have pretty high standards for poke. This place has been open a while and today I finally decided to try it. They aren't the friendliest. The small (2 scoops) is $8 and the medium (3 scoops), which I got, is $9.50 and the total came out to $10.38. The scoops aren't very big and neither are the cubes. Even though all the toppings are free, they have a limited variety. The cucumbers were almost out and when I asked for cucumbers, the guy only gave me the few slices at the bottom of the container. There was also a loud, obnoxious group of people sitting and eating and they were guffawing and talking as if they were the only ones in the store- how rude.
