    Teriyaki chicken bento
    Jen T.

Stopped by for their $10.99 lunch special bento today. For the price, it was solid -- the portion left me satisfied but not overly stuffed where I feel sluggish afterward. The sushi was fresh enough, and the sides that came with the bento had enough variety to keep things interesting. Service was quick, which is great for a lunch break. The atmosphere is casual cafeteria-style, so don't expect fancy décor or high-end presentation, but it does the job.

Sushi in the Box has affordable sushi, rolls, and bento boxes! Delicious, quick service and is full of flavor. Definitely check it out if you're looking for a place to save money on sushi and eat good food. Parking located in a plaza

I haven't had sushi from Sushi In The Box in a long time, and I am in the nearby area. I certainly want to get some sushi from this store. It's located in the back of the food court of 99 Ranch Market in Arcadia. As shown by the photos I took, the sushi was both affordable and delicious. Love it and will definitely come back for more!

The cashier lady was quite rude, when asking for what in the bento box, she just pointed to the poster without saying a word. The sushi was just ok but not tempting.

I hit up Sushi in the Box in Arcadia, just lookin' for a fast dinner. The food was good, solid stuff. I mean, its not going to win any awards for being the best sushi ever, but for a quick bite? It totally does the trick. The staff there were super friendly and helpful, too.Always a plus when you're dealing with a local owned spot that's just crank out quick and clean orders. It was quiet when I was there about 5:30pm, which was nice. The seating area is one of those big shared spaces with a few other restaurants .

Spicy tuna roll. Not spicy enough

So it was a spare of the moment thing that brought me here. I had a sudden craving for some rolls but didn't feel like a sit-down restaurant, and I heard about this place so it worked out fine. Located at the right corner of the President Square Food Court, they offer rolls, bentos and ramen. They weren't very busy when I went about a 1/2 hour before closing, but had a steady flow of people. The service was fine, nothing outstanding but no complaints. The food took a bit longer than expected, roughly 15-20 for 4 rolls when there wasn't anyone in front of me. Maybe there were orders called in (?) I got a Dragon Roll, Rainbow Roll, spicy tuna and a Cali roll. All tastes fresh and the rice wasn't stale considering it's the end of the day. But the rolls lacked flavor. ie: The Dragon Roll and Rainbow Roll are usually served with some type of eel sauce, or anything to tide it more flavor. These were not. The spicy tuna wasn't spicy. Maybe my tolerance for heat is fairly high but even my kid didn't think it was spicy. The rolls I picked up were all fine. They all looked good, just not much to rave about when it comes to the flavor. I hate to give a small family business an average rating but this is purely based on my own palette for rolls. I've been to dozens of sushi joints in Vegas and became accustomed to the sauces they put on their rolls,'which I didn't get here. That left the rolls a bit on the bland side.

The store is located at the food court of the 99 Ranch center. Big parking lot. They close for a few hours before dinner and I hadn't realized this but the lady was there and took my order and made the rolls on the spot. They have a takeout menu so I later realized they have many other dishes and not just what was on the posters. I tried the rainbow roll and the combo california roll and spicy tuna later realizing orsering 2 rolls got me 50% off my combo. Nice! They are very generous in filling and less rice. It was great! The lady was also very nice! There are tables inside the food court if you want to dine there. Or you can order for takeout. Quite convenient.

    Tempura bento with teriyaki chicken.

We tried sushi in a box when it was on Cloverly and recently heard it moved even closer to President Square food court. So many good items to choose from. Our favorite are the tempura bentos we choose either Teriyaki chicken or the beef sukiyaki. The tempura is amazing, and the entrees are awesome as well. They also have buy one full price sushi get one half off from list. So we get dragon roll and spicy tuna roll. There's so much food for 2 of us, we had left overs, and the left overs were still amazing. lol. President square brings a lot of kids with Sunright tea, if you're also hungry definitely stop by and get some bentos. Wish they offered musubi's for quick eats. They also finally updated the food court floor and tables. It looks so much nicer and clean.

I've been coming to this restaurant for years. They've recently moved from their original location in Temple City to Arcadia. They're now located towards the back of the food court next to 99 Ranch. The rolls are decently sized and the prices are great. They even have a buy one, get one 50% off promotion on some of their rolls. The rolls and hand rolls are probably my favorite things to order. Their onigiri is delicious as well. They always put a generous portion of fish so I definitely feel like I'm getting my money's worth. I've also recently tried their ramen and it's an amazing price for the large portion that you get. The workers are always very sweet. They provide extra utensils if you ask for it and the food is always packaged well when you get it to-go. I've never had an issue with anything spilling before. Eating at the restaurant is also much more convenient now that they've switched locations. Their previous location was pretty small so I always ordered stuff to-go. However, the food court has a lot of seating inside so it's much easier to dine-in now. Overall, the quality of the food is amazing for the price. The prices are much lower here than other sushi places I've been to, and the portions are larger. I'll definitely continue to come here!

I frequent here for the bento box. Call in advance and enjoy! My kids love the California rolls. And they typically will offer buy one get one 50% off. The lady that is seemingly always there is nice and open to any adjustments you may need (like extra ginger and eel sauce)! Great service and good food!

    Chicken teriyaki and sukiyaki bentos

On a Saturday afternoon in October, my sister and I came here to order early dinner. They moved from Temple city to Arcadia. I ordered the chicken teriyaki bento box and waited to be ready. The owner was nice and took our orders. I quickly found a table and waited for our food. The chicken teriyaki taste good and scoop of rice. The California rolls taste good too. Next time I will get their Sukiyaki bento because my sister raved how it tastes so good.

Super happy that Sushi in the box moved right next. lol Took this menu so I can check on Yelp. Anyhow, the Chirashi bowl price is great. Kids like the rolls. I have got a few trays for parties as well.

Underrated sushi spot in the corner of a food court. The bento and hand rolls are decent quality and worth the price point.

Then we started trying new ones opened in the area and now often go to one at the mall for good ramen and conscience. I was craving for Okinawa soba so decided to come here without driving to South Bay. It's Friday around 1:30pm and the shop is relatively busy that only a couple of tables are available. We sat down and started looking at the menu - now a digital one with a tablet on every table. You can browse the menu on the tablet and put your order in on it. We ordered Okinawa soba and miso ramen. For $15 each, it seems like a decent price. We like the broths here. It's rich and deep without a layer of fat on top like most of the ramen shops. The noodles are firm with a nice bite to it. I especially like the Okinawa soba because it uses thicker noodles. The meat is tender and has a sweet flavor to it. If I had to nitpick, they don't have the Okinawa chili vinegar to go with the soba. It's a small shop. The walls are sprayed painted to look like a Japanese night time izakaya vibe. We will definitely come back more often.

Unfortunately, today made us realize the drive is no longer worth it. As we walked in, the owner (I assume) was so focused on his phone that he didn't greet us or acknowledge us at all. We had to approach him and ask where to sit because he didn't even look up. It felt unwelcoming and very different from how this place used to be. On top of that, the food just wasn't the same the flavor was lacking, and the overall experience didn't feel like the restaurant we've supported for years. It's disappointing to say, but this place has lost our business. Great customer service and consistent quality matter, and sadly both were missing today.

I can't speak for them, but I will say, if you order the tsukemen and find that you want more dipping broth, that will be an extra charge. Order a regular bowl of ramen if you do not plan to dip the brothless noodles into the broth for each bite. BF and I both tried the spicy tuna bowl ($7.95), chashu bowl ($8.95), and tonkotsu ramen ($15.95). The bowls are a little smaller than the ramen bowls and are a great option if you want a light meal without feeling super full. The tonkotsu ramen had a slightly rich broth that was flavorful and a decent portion of noodles. We opted not to order the ramen with the egg since we were also trying the rice bowls. I know they owned Killer Noodle and brought it back for a day or so during some weeks, but still. I feel like I can partly blame those who can't handle spice, numbing or not, and or people with generally normie tastes. Anyways, enough of that diatribe. Parking can get horrible and fisted here, even though there's parking in the pit. The best bet is to just park at the 99 Ranch Market across the street and walk over. This restaurant also gets super busy too and there's limited tables and seating inside for how popular it is. They did collabs too, like the Naruto one. There were instructions on how to properly eat tsukemen and staff was friendly and polite too. I know they tried to make the ambiance a bit nicer and fancier, but with the constant slew of customers and people, you can only do so much. Since it's a tsukemen restaurant, I always just got tsukemen here. I'd get the spicy chashu tsukemen. Comes with a generous portion of chashu pork and is made with their homemade spices. It also comes with a soft boiled egg, a slice of lime to squeeze in for taste, green onions and a sheet nori. After dipping the noodles, you can ask for soup wari to eat the rest of the broth in. It's a delicious and hefty portion and sorta justifies the $30 for a bowl of tsukemen thing. Flavorful broth with a depth of delicious spices. Nice thick noodles that absorb the broth nicely. I like that you get a good amount of chashu. Adding the lime makes the noodles a bit more refreshing if you get a bit tired of the taste. Spicy doesn't make it spicy at all, but at the very least gave a bit of heat to it. There's other Tsujitas out there, just now a bit farther.
