Along with a bunch of fixings/sides such as tamago, seaweed, edamame, corn, jalapeño, seaweed salad, crab, cucumber, wasabi and ginger. It was huge! The serving was huge. The fish amount was standard as they use a scoop. But super generous on the sides/fixings, which for the most part makes the bowl right?! Much better than poke one and half in SM. Absolutely delicious and fresh! My better half and I stopped in on our way back from someplace...I don't remember exactly where we were, but we were both in the mood for poke bowls. This spot came up on Yelp...and it didn't disappoint. It's a 'build a bowl' place...and the friendly employee walked us through the entire process when we confessed it was out first time in. After running errands, Poki Poki stood out and I decided to pick up lunch here. I typically love Poki Poki at other locations so didn't think it would be different. Boy was I wrong! Firstly when I entered, there were two patrons sitting at their tables having lunch and watching TV. The two young ladies behind the counter stood there like mannequins and didn't speak or move until I came to the counter and tell them that I wanted two regular bowls. I guess saying hello was too difficult?! All of the sudden they both started making me a bowl and asking what I want. It was very irritating as I need to remember what my husband likes and what I want. But their constant asking the same questions about the different plates was overwhelming. In the end, after I paid, they went back to their mannequin positions with no thank you or bye. It was a very odd experience. Kinda felt like a Twilight Zone Episode. As far as the food. The salmon was okay and avocado was fresh. Spicy tuna tasted was okay but not great. The cubed tuna smelled a little funny for my husband so he removed them. The worst part was the undercooked rice. It was very difficult to eat. I don't know what was going on but this wasn't as good as their other locations. I'll stick to my Encinitas locations as far as Poki Poki bowls. read more

Highly impressed with this little poke shop. Service is fast and the staff is so friendly! I didn't get her name but the girl with brown hair and pink hat was awesome and gave great recommendations! A large bowl (4 scoops) is $16.95 ($18.26 after tax) which can be a bit pricey but it seems fair in comparison to many other poke shops nowadays. Their large may seem like a smaller portion than some big chain poke shops but I was stuffed! Plus they are generous with toppings my bowl consisted of - 2 scoops salmon, 1 spicy tuna, 1 seared ahi tuna (you only get 2 slices of seared ahi but I liked it still and usually don't see it as an option at other poke places) - white rice - onion & cucumber - radish - edamame - ginger - fried garlic - miso sauce (I thought this was unique to their shop!) - spicy mayo - medium poki poki sauce (it is spicer than you think! 6 or 7/10 spice level!) Yum this is my first time coming here. I'm usually a brown bagger but I didn't have anything left at home to pack a healthy lunch so I decided to treat myself. There is quite a bit of variety here. More seafood choices than the place I usually go and more crunchy toppings too. I like that the regular bowl comes with 3 proteins when I'm used to 2. I tried the seared ahi, ahi and shrimp. Delicious poke! Their smallest size is 3 scoops for $12.95 and I chose salmon, scallops and seared ahi. Normally I don't really like ahi as it's kind of bland but the seared one they have here is really good! Not many places have seared tuna. Their topping choices are quite extensive as well. My poke bowl was packed with different things and the flavors of their sauces were excellent as well. We ordered from door dash and the estimated time was definitely longer than what they needed to prepare the two bowls but they stored the bowls in the fridge before we went to pick up. The people who work there are always friendly and they work quickly as well. The food is delicious. There's a lot of options you can choose from. You'd choose the size of bowl you want. I usually do the option with 3 proteins. Then you choose your base (rice, salad or mix). You choose from protein like salmon, shrimp and tofu. Then you choose your add ons like cucumber and onions, corn, guacamole, crab meat and sauces. I love the eel sauce and spicy Mayo. They do have a few cans of drinks for sale and some lollipops. There are forks, napkins and chopsticks there as well and you can get your food in a plastic bag to go. Today I had an order without edamame and yet some still ended up in my bowl. It's important that staff is very careful about not mixing food up in case anyone has an allergy or just simply doesn't like the food. Overall, it's a really great local Poke restaurant that gives you delicious food quickly. I'll add, just in case anyone needs to know, there is parking right out front and no drive thru. A friend and I found this place on Yelp and wanted to give it a try. I'm extremely happy we did, everything about my experience was awesome. I wish I got her name to give her credit, but the young lady working was very helpful and patient with me. She gave me a lot of recommendations and told me her preferences. When I'm ordering from somewhere the first time, I love when the staff tell me what they eat. You'd be surprised how many times the worker won't help in anyway. This lovely young lady had no problems helping me build a delicious bowl of spicy poke. I honestly don't think I'd change anything about it. I've been waiting a bit to write a review because I wanted to try all the different poke places in the area so I could do a little comparison. So far, this place beat out HelloPoki, Pokewaii, and LemonShark. They load up on toppings, the fish tastes good, they don't try to upcharge you for every single normal item like the other spots listed above. And their spicy sauce is actually spicy!! Most places aren't! They mix your fish with the sauce which is key! You can even ask them to mix in toppings with the sauce which is also nice. The price is normal and fair for what you get. I'm really fed up with the other spots that are charging for imitation crab, avocado, masago, edamame, etc. These are normal items that should be included. My favorite spot up here so far but still doesn't beat pokeland in Mira Mesa or Poki One n Half (Clairemont Mesa). Those 2 are my favorites! read more

With a solid love of poke within the family, we've made it a point to find all noteworthy shops in the nearby towns. And heading to San Marcos from time to time, it didn't take long for us to make it over to Poki Poki. And I'm glad we did. A long while ago, I found spot in nearby Leucadia and I was excited to have a nearby poke place that was kind of close to home. When I finally found it, it turned out to be closer to the Hawaiian version of this dish; the rice is served warm and shrimp crackers are sold alongside. The poke here is similar, with that warmer rice, but Poki Poki does it much better than Lanai ever could. First off, the bowls here are pretty massive. I got myself a regular bowl and found it to be the same size as the larger ones, just with fewer scoops of protein. They have the fish I like, Salmon and Octopus, though they're missing out on Scallops, and Crab Meat is thankfully added on as a topping that doesn't count against your protein count. With Masago, Seaweed Salad, Tempura Crumbles, and Avocado there on the side, and a good blend of sauces to drizzle atop, my bowl was huge, widely varied, and very delicious. To which my lady love readily agreed. While it doesn't beat out Pokewan out in Carlsbad, it still comes very close and definitely a great option anytime we head out east. read more

This was my FAVORITE poke place in the area, known for amazing portion sizes and excellent fish. However, another place named Lemon Shark recently opened that did spicy tuna much better. I still would always go to both depending on whether I wanted bigger portions at Poki vs pricier option at Lemon. Now, portion size of fish was cut down to half and there's no reason to ever get tuna or salmon! If it's between spicy tuna, Lemon Shark is the better option. Pls go back to bigger scoopers like before. Poki is still one of the best places to get Poke! Don't get me wrong! Just go to the one in Encinitas that offers punch cards and much more generous portions. Staff are always great though in either location. read more

Tried this place last weekend and it was really good. I didn't give it the full 5 stars due to their bowls being small....I ordered their large and it was the size of everyone else's (other Poki spots) small bowl. The quality was good and it was fresh...the customer service was fair (not great). They have all the toppings you come to expect. The place is very well kept (extremely clean) which I appreciate. Decent poke place in a shopping center with Vons. Was a little hard to find within the complex, but it's near the side with Subway. Plenty of parking. We went around 4pm and there weren't any other customers. A large bowl is probably big enough to split between two people if you're not starving. As it turned out, we ordered two regular sized bowls and ended up with about a meal's worth of leftovers. There are some extra charges for things like avocado and spicy imitation crab, but most of the toppings are included. They had a few unusual toppings, like mandarin oranges. Visually, the bowls could look nicer. The other poke places I've been to have put the fish on top. At this place, the fish goes in first and rice and everything else is piled on top so ultimately we had a big pile of toppings and had to dig around to get the fish at the bottom. I know it's not a huge deal, but it's disappointing when you just want a rice bowl and it's half greens. I would go for the 3 item if i was really hungry. You're paying around $9 for small and $10 for the regular. Salmon and tuna will always be my top two choices. The cuts were tiny.. no big deal. Sucks that they charge $1 for avocado though, but hey, avocados are expensive.
