We usually order the large ($15.99), half rice/half salad base, 3 scoops of tuna, 2 scoops of salmon, seaweed salad (+$1.50), crab meat, edamame, avocado (+$1.50), masago, ginger, sesame seeds. I think I'm going to stop getting the seaweed salad since they charge the extra $1.50 and no way is that an equal value to avocado! House sauce (ponzu) with a drizzle of eel sauce at the end. I came here with a friend to grab a quick lunch and it was perfect. We wanted something light and settled on poki. I'm not a huge poki fan but I really liked my bowl! Stopped by after shopping at Trader Joe's Pretty self explanatory menu. Pick a bowl size, base rice/salad, half & half,, etc, I choose salad - cucumbers, seaweed salad, 3 proteins - tuna, salmon, peppered tuna ,and well sauce/sesame oil and wasabi. All was fresh. Good Poke place! Solid Poke location. To me, poke is a hit or miss, some places the rice is dry or fish does not taste good. This place is really good. There are 5 steps to order your food. Choose your rice, layer, protein, sauce, and topping. Rice wasn't dry, poke tasted good, I got the most spicy sauce and it was pretty spicy. Employee was nice and interior was clean and organized. My only complaint was that it was a bit pricey but I know fish is expensive. read more

Came here on a busy Wednesday lunch hour to satisfy my cravings for some scrumptious poke! Was pleasantly surprised to see a new addition to the menu (seared tuna tataki), and I immediately obliged by adding it as one of my three (3) proteins in my Regular bowl! As for my layers, I went with all of them (cucumber, pineapple, crab salad, and onions, and added seaweed salad for $0.75!). After my spicy tuna (chunky) and my seared tataki were mixed together with a combination of Ponzu (house) sauce and Volcano #2, which I presume is quite hot along with the onions, I added every single dry topping, except edamame and masago. This included items like fried onions and garlic, green onions, seaweed, sesame seasoning, and ginger, laid on a bed of salad (lettuce and some veggies). It makes me really sad to make this review. This has always been my Husband and I's favorite poke place. We used to live around the corner and we would eat there several times a week when our son was just born. I have a great rapport with Lucas, and he's wonderful and so, so gracious. We drive from our place in Irvine to Huntington Beach to get Poki Star when we are in the area. They had the best spicy mayo, and ponzu. Our last time there, the spicy mayo had no flavor, and we were shocked but figured it was a one-off. Now today, we went and got our food, and while the fish is fresh - the sauce has zero heat and it tastes sweet, like miracle whip. I know that there is a Sriacha shortage, but this spicy mayo completely ruined our bowls, to the point that we ended up throwing them away. After spending over $30 for two bowls, and the continuing rise in food costs, that really hurts. I hope that seeing this review will be a wake-up call, and I hope that they switch back soon. read more

I ordered the regular bowl which it's build layers for the base it was the half rice and half salad then the imtation crab meat, cucumbers, edamame, pineapple, avocado, seaweed salad and then the protein Salmon, shrimp, tofu and last layer of toppings of masago for the sauce I choose the spicy mayo and the volcano1. Really enjoyed all the ingredients they tasted fresh I like to have the poke bowl because is a healthy-light option without any additional fats or oils. Extra charge .75 each for the avocado and the seaweed salad. The regular bowl (9.99) quickly became (12.38) w taxes. Why only 4stars? I would recommend kabuki's poki bowl at Bella Tera, it cost less and taste way fresher or full moon sushi has a poki bowl for $10 that is also better. Poki island on beach and Talbert is way better. The veggies toppings selection was very limited compared to other poke places. There was only 5 choices and seaweed cost extra, not normally at all the other poke joints I've been to. The scoops of fish is pretty generous, but the quality isn't of a high grade so some pieces are stringy. They are also very generous on the wasabi. So be very careful with that. I passed by here so many times and finally tried the place. I got a regular bowl with 3 different proteins with half rice and half salad. I chose the ponzu sauce with mild spice. The bowl itself was just okay. Nothing really wow'd me with flavor, presentation, quality or even quantity. The protein I chose were tuna, spicy tuna and seared tuna. I don't recall seeing a seared tuna on the menu at other poke joints. The protein itself tasted fresh as did the other ingredients as well. I was a bit disappointed in the ponzu sauce as it supposed to have a citrus soy flavor with a tang but this one tasted slightly sweet and seemed watered down at the same time. Not sure why that is. I felt the toppings were a bit on the chinsey side. I also asked for a side of spicy mayo but when I got home no spicy mayo in my bag. Geez. I mean there was just myself and another customer in the place and they forget something. Maybe it was bad timing but with so many other poke places near me, I think I'll stick to the ones I like. read more
