First time Poke eater review! Im here visiting from the DC area and was 3.5 miles into a walk when I spotted this gem! Ive never had poke because im super skeptical of raw fish but this was AMAZING, I can't imagine having a better experience elsewhere. Not sure if it's the same owner or new one, but the quality is still the same for me. I've been on a poke bowl kick lately along with some masubi, it just hits the spot every time! I get overwhelmed choosing in the store, so I'll create my order online ahead of time and just read it off to them when I get there. Prices are reasonable for the amount of food. I feel like they are generous and it always tastes fresh and delicious. Staff are always nice. Tip-- have sauce on the side vs mixing everything together! I came here after a day at the beach and spotted this place while waiting in the In-N-Out drive-thru for my lil' dude, which made me quite happy. Tiffany served me, and her service was excellent. I was her first official face-to-face customer. Lol I was a bit disappointed that they didn't have masago, but that's ok. As for the wasabi it was not spicy at all. I'm surprised since it was my first time encountering non-spicy wasabi. Nonetheless! the ahi tuna and salmon were just perrrrfect and fresh. Chunks in every bite. The staff today 8/21/2026 6pm was terrible I used to come here after work to get a bowl but now I'm reconsidering . Waited 30 minutes to get a bowl take it. There was three people in front of me but 10 minutes per person should not be the case. They forgot someone's sushi order and they waited 40 minutes supposedly. They tried to double charge me when I got one bowl. Then as I'm paying man comes in with a soggy napkin in his bowl. First time seeing these two people working hopefully the last. read more

You can never go wrong by choosing salmon. The salmon was cut into large, generously sized pieces and so fresh. That's the only type of protein I added because I'm a huge salmon lover but you can choose to go crazy with the other options. Even if you're not a huge poké lover, they have Hawaiian classics like spam musubi and California rolls. We ordered the tuna roll but they were out of tuna so they subbed it for salmon which I was happy about. They have a lot of deals for small bites depending on the day of the week so I'd take advantage of that depending on when you visit. I had such a great experience at Poke Island! Rylee provided some of the best customer service I've had in a long time. She was incredibly sweet, welcoming, attentive, and made sure everything was exactly how I wanted it. I actually asked her how long she had been working there because she seemed so comfortable and knowledgeable, and I was shocked to find out that she had only started very recently! You honestly would never be able to tell. Her service and work ethic were some of the best I've seen, especially for someone so new. I've always been to popular poke places like Uroko, Poke Haus, you name it. However, I decided to turn into Poke Island this time since I was already on Talbert. I walk in and I'm greeted with a "Hello UwU, how can i assist you?" Immediately, i was flattered and asked for the young employees name. Of course, her name is Kalia. She assisted me with building my own Poke bowl and oh my days, was that bowl scrumptious, elegant, moist, crunchy, and beautiful. Not only did she do a good job of making it in front of my face, she filled me up. I tipped an extra fifty dollars because of how good her service was. I popped in on a Sunday night, and it wasn't very busy. Actually as I'm writing this review I just realized I walked in right as the business was going to close. Nick was kind enough to let me think they weren't closing yet, and was super patient while I ordered. He gave me recommendations, and was kind enough to help me organize my order a specific way. The prices are extremely reasonable! I didn't want a lot of food so I ordered a snacker bowl. When I decided I wanted Poke I assumed I was gonna spend about $18 for the bowl. Instead I got a bowl that was under 10 bucks, and I got a BOGO happy hour deal on a Peach and a Brown Sugar drink. So before tipping I spent about 18 bucks for two boba drinks, and the perfect poke bowl portion. Obviously everything was super good! Can't wait to come back! read more

Came here for lunch on a weekday. Service is fast and the line wasn't as long compared to other poke places in the area. What I liked about the menu is that there are lots of sides, sauces, and fresh made to order musubi options. I ordered a regular bowl with three proteins, salmon, spicy tuna, and shrimp with half and half rice and spring mix. I loved that they offer sesame oil for your spring mix, so the salad isn't dry with some flavor. Still not any better than 2016. Possibly worse. I'm not a fan of these poke joints that are almost on every corner these days, but I'll probably never visit this one again. The quality of tuna was previously frozen. You can tell by the color. I bought my husband a FIVE SCOOP to try to get enough fish and he's not a really big eater anymore, but wants mostly fish in his poke bowl, like they have in Hawaii.... So after paying premium price here, still not impressed. EVEN LESS IMPRESSED when they give you like 5-6 tiny pieces PER SCOOP and if they fill the scoop too much to their liking, they knock off the extra. Whenever I run errands near this area, I always make sure to stop by for a quick lunch. It's one of the few places I would go to for poke. Whenever I go to other poke places closer to me, I would still crave this place. The taste is always consistent to me and I appreciate that. I usually get a regular half and half base like spring mix and rice and with spicy tuna, tuna, and albacore and choose whatever toppings I want. I like mixing different sauces and it always comes out good. The only thing that is different is sometimes it comes out spicier depending on what sauces I choose. The sauces here are more unique than other places I have tried. You can also get some premium toppings like avocado, mango, or boiled egg for an additional charge. I also love that they have boba here and their boba is actually decent! My go to always is the almond milk tea. They have free boba drink if you do a yelp check in and I often take advantage of that. Sometimes yelp doesn't show the check in option but if you show the promotion from yelp page, the workers will still honor the deal. This place is spacious, clean, and workers are friendly. I recommend this place next time you're in the area and want some poke! read more

I buy something from this place every single day. they have a USB charging outlet there, so I was using the outlet charging my phone. The manager/supervisor was rude and kicked me out. She and her mom who works in the kitchen are extremely rude with no manners or empathy of others and what they are going through. But the younger guys the work there, they are what the whole employees should learn to follow to be like and to follow there behavior. This place left a bad taste in my mouth. I am never going to recommend them for anyone's pokes cravings. We normally get all of our poki orders at Nori Poki because every single time we order UberEats/doordash from PokiIsland, when the Poké bowl comes, it's completely DRY even though we order all the sauces - so dry it's basically wasted I can't eat any of the rice as it's just dry white rice. When you spend $25 for a Poké bowl you don't wanna throw half of it away. My daughters have had the exact same experience every time they order & it's so unfortunate because the Poké bowl has all the ingredients that it could be good but I'm not sure why they do this or haven't gotten feedback that they're listening to! read more
