Bowl size was good other than the protein scoops. The scoops are exactly level to the small scooper which made the price feel a little high. In our experience most place give rounded scoops for a little extra protein. Fast casual style with indoor seating options. Parking lot is free and has ample spaces. Restroom was pretty clean, restaurant portion was very clean, service team was friendly. Great option for a quick meal if you prefer not to eat greasy fast food. I was craving poke and saw this place opened up, so gave it a try. I ordered a medium bowl, which comes with a base and 3 scoops of protein. I choose the salmon and tuna. Both were a very good texture and freshness. I also opted for brown rice, which was so good!! There are lots of yummy toppings and they don't charge extra for avocado! For sauces, so far I've liked the ponzu and spicy mayo. Warning: the spicy mayo seemed spicier than I'm used to. Still really good but my mouth was burning. Maybe I put too much, but I still ate every bite. I also tried the milk tea. It was REALLY sweet. Next time I'd ask if they can adjust sweetness. The employees are nice and helpful. My husband and I heard about Poke Co from another friend. We got take out on a Friday night. The restaurant did not seem busy. We did the 3 scoops. The proteins we got were spicy tuna, tuna, and salmon. Proteins were good except the scoops seemed small as we noticed there wasn't a lot of fish overall (sadly). I did love that avocado was included! For sauces, my personal fav is spicy mayo and ponzu. We got a few sauces on the side to try too. Their poke co sauce was similar to a teriyaki sauce. I decided to try this place for the first time and it was okay. The menu painted on the wall was bit confusing and it ended up costing a lot more than I expected for just a basic 1 bowl. The food was good, but smaller portion than get from other Poke places I visit. The staff was nice and the location itself is clean. An easy to read, clear pricing menu board would be my only recommendation. P.S. Yes, it was the right store and location. Maybe I missed the TV screen, but will look for that if come here again. Being from Hawaii I normally don't enjoy the poke bowls out here in the mainland, but I was actually impressed for once here at The Poke Co location in Huntington Beach. I like to eat poke maybe once every couple months at different restaurants, and this one so happened to open up recently 5 mins away from me !!! They had an option for a base of just cucumbers?? It's such a brilliant idea for those trying to limit our carbs and it tasted amazing! (Additional $1.50) All the toppings were included, no additional surcharge for any which was great! They also didn't charge more if you got certain proteins. Normally poke places can charge more depending on the protein or certain toppings. Like no extra charge for avocado in this economy?? Absolutely crazy. I really loved having beets as a topping it's a favorite of mine that I rarely see. What blew me away though was the sauces!! Omg. They had a variety of options and allowed free sample tastings of them too which was nice. The spicy sauces were delicious and SPICY. I was pleasantly surprised. The quality of the fish seemed good, though I couldn't tell if it was also cause it was slathered in all the yummy sauces hehe! Service was amazing. Alan LOADED up our bowls for us and was very friendly! He helped walk us through everything and was kind despite our indecisiveness. Ambiance was lovely. The inside of the store is very clean and organized. They have free lemon water which tasted pretty good. I've been to their other locations, I just love getting Poke at this chain. From my experience, the quality of their fish is great, service is always hospitable, and the store is clean and spotless. Just finished taking my dogs to Huntington Beach and was craving poke. Found The Poke Co and wow it did not disappoint! Cole helped assemble my bowl and he even allowed us to sample the different sauces they have! Portions are super big and they stuff the bowls! I got a large bowl which contains 4 scoops of protein. Yaaaaaasss!!! I am so excited that there is now a Poke Co, close to my house! I usually go to the location in Long Beach but was overjoyed at seeing the sign pop up on my drive home. I stopped in today with my kids after school, on the way home from work. The staff was very nice, the portions were the same that I've received at the other location and the quality was the same as well. I love that they have been able to provide a consistent product, that's all anyone wants, the price point is what you would expect and they are not skimping with the toppings here! This was a large. The fish was fresh and not fishy. Tons of toppings, first scoop of avocado was free. Tuan was so helpful with helping decide which sauce to get. Dragons breath was spicy and delicious . They also offer hot Cheetos if you want to make a furikake. The shop was clean and well kept. I wanted to stop by this place after hearing about it online but I kinda regret it. For one, the portions are extremely skimpy. I get its fish & it's expensive but I got like 4 cubes of salmon & the guy looked pissed already so I didn't want to bother (will touch up on this later). Also for my toppings I asked for extra cause the guy would scoop it & then shake it off so it's less & he charged me without telling me it's extra? Again, didn't wanna bother cause the guy looked mad & it kinda made the whole ambiance of the store dreadful since there was no one else but me there. Second, the food placement . I work in the food industry as well & the one thing they teach us not to do is place cooked food & raw food next to each. I don't know if it's changed or if it refers to STORING food but it really freaked me out seeing cooked beef & chicken literally millimeters away from the raw salmon & tuna. Third, the guy that was making my food & ringing it up (His name his Thien cause i saw his name badge) was lowkey being a bitch to his other coworker. I knew Thien was training the other guy because I heard him say "am I training you or are you training me cause you're in my way" & I literally gasped. Who trains someone like that the guy looked & sounded pissy so I didn't bother asking him about anything or asking for more protein. They looked super understaffed & I could probably assume why. Protein: (normal order) - Salmon - Spicy Salmon - Tako or Shrimp I order a medium bowl, with: If I do not feel like raw (fish) day I would go Veggie Day/cooked items instead. - Garlic Tofu - Tako - Shrimp With all the same sauce I use. Toppings or the Extras: - Everything except Jalapeño, Wasabi & Ginger. - I love everything else. Such as Cilantro, Masago, Crisp Onions, Avocado Edamame & Green Onions. Sauce: - I am big on OG Sauce & The Poke Co. Sauce. That's my favorite Combo. - Do not forget the Sesame oil & Nori it goes well. The customer service has not failed me once. Today when I went, the welcomed me with such warmth. The Ambience of the location is chill, and it is vibrant vibe. Did I not mention they have BOBA & they started serving my favorite MOSHI drink. Finally a solid poke place in HB! I've had Poke Co before at the Fullerton and Rowland Heights location, and this new one is just as good. The inside is clean and the fish is fresh, which is a must. Clean, delicious, fast. So happy this place opened. We're pretty picky when it comes to poke and Poke Co is the first one we found down outside of LA that checks all the boxes. It feels so clean (Poke Tiki has a weird smell that I look for now when we go to poke spots) and I like their protein scoop system. My favorite place ever is Poke N Roll in Glendale because they have an option to bake your protein but because Poke Co is so close to our house, I just bake the salmon at home. Their Hawaiian sauce is really good too. Oh, and you rack up points and discounts quick if you sign up for their free membership. I just got $10 off my order yesterday. read more
