Went here for a poke bowl. Not impressed. The fish wasn't that fresh. The portions were small. The add-ons could've been fresher as well. Lots of fish options, but I don't think they'd be any better. It's a small location, but it is very accessible and they are very nice and helpful when entering the restaurant. The cooks are also very quick and made sure everyone got served fast especially on the dinner rush. it's a perfect location with parking if you need a good quick bite with quality food and some coffee after for fuel. Missing a lot of my toppings! I'm a really big poke fan, but my expectations fell short after trying this place. The portion sizes were absolutely ridiculous for a large bowl. I was missing several toppings. I didn't get any dried toppings or crab meat and seaweed salad (was ordering Uber Eats) definitely not worth almost $25 for a mediocre bowl! Food ain't bad but the skinny kid with the tattoos and piercings clearly doesn't care about customers or his job. He gave me the smallest portions of protein and did not say a word to me the whole time. He just pointed at sections of the counter so I can pick out toppings. He had a glove on but nonetheless he cross contaminated everything. Kid doesn't care and if he doesn't care, who knows what else he doesn't handle properly. Since it's so close to my house I decided to order delivery and I was hungry so I didn't want a long wait. Order came fast so 2 stars for that... A medium bowl with spicy salmon, spicy tuna and spicy albacore... it all tastes the same. I didn't see any albacore. Had jury duty at the San Fernando courthouse and was on Google looking for a place to have lunch, especially since you get 90 minutes. Found this place and was about a few blocks away. Ample time to make the trek. It's in a small strip mall next to Starbucks. Inside is very clean. You can not only get poke bowls but also burrito, nachos and even cut rolls too. I opted for the medium bowl which was $17.95 and you get 3 proteins. I got two salmon and one scallops. Filled it up with the usual sides, toppings and brown rice. Was very filling. Also used the yelp check in deal for a free drink and got the strawberry drink. Was delicious. You'd expect a lot more from an establishment like this. The food quality was awful. I got a poke bowl with spicy salmon and albacore, which was not fresh. It tasted awful alone. The white rice was HARD and stuck together. The cucumber they used was probably old because there was a few of the slices I ate that tasted bitter and old. Costumer service was friendly, even they could see the horrible state of the food and apologized. How embarrassing for the owner to know that their own employees agreed to the quality of food being poor. PokiMX came up in the search results, drove there , plenty of parking spaces in the plaza ! That is a great thing Fairly good size store / Restaurant and good number of tables. Their food is reasonably priced (considering Mid-2022 inflation we are going through). Cool drinks such as watermelon lemonade, their choices of fish was limited compared to some other places that we have been to but their Spicy is really good if you like spicy fish (tuna & salmon). Their staff is young and fast, polite and patient, explaining everything in detail. Good Service Why 4 star ? When I called to complain, I asked for the manager, and this guy answered the phone and said he was the manager (I find it hard to believe); then I asked for his name, and he refused to give me his name. Absolutely love the spot. A great new addition to the San Fernando area. I've been here twice and the food has been on point each time. The first time I came with my friend and we ordered a bunch of items which we devoured. The second time my husband and I came and we ordered a few rolls from their new sushi menu. The cucumber roll is healthy and delicious. A good option for people and not wanting the carbs from the rice.It has crab, tuna, salmon, and avocado inside with jalapeño on top as well as ponzu yuzu. The poke nachos were really good! Their california roll is awesome! I love how it came out on a California shaped board. This is the first time I've ever seen that and it is a great concept. Definitely add some flair so I will give it to them for that. The service both times that we've gone has always been fantastic everyone there is super friendly and I also like how you can order from their iPads instead of waiting in line. Their sauces are really good and their house made lemonades are delicious. The regular lemonade by far is the best in my opinion. Overall Pokitomás is a one-of-a-kind poké and sushi restaurant with a Hispanic twist! They have fresh fish and mix-in ingredients, signature sauces, and house made lemonades. I just started working in the Sylmar area a couple weeks ago and was looking for a new lunch place to try, loving Poké and Mexican food this seemed like the right spot. I was right! The place was clean and bright lots of light as you walk in which is great and they have this super cute neon sign in the seating area. I immediately noticed the very high glass and sneeze guard which being a short person made it hard to see on top of the intense glare but I understand it is there for protection. I ordered the burrito with all salmon protein in a soy paper wrap. It was plentiful and delicious. The options were vast for protein, mix-ins and sauces which actually made me feel a little overwhelmed wondering if I had mixed the right flavors together but the quality of the salmon made it absolutely work. I loved the mango with the salmon together and the cilantro jalapeño sauce. I got the blueberry lemonade and was informed I had free refills which was nice! It seems to always be to dry now. Like it's over cooked or something or maybe too old. I'm not sure since I've never made sushi myself . I was super excited for a poke place in San Fernando since that would be the closest one to my house. I figure it would be busy for opening day but it was pretty empty when I went that night. Servers seemed friendly but the double glass barrier between us made it very difficult for them to hear me talk and I felt like I was screaming even though the place was practically empty. I've been to over a dozen poke places and none had had double barriers like this or so high. Didn't seem to have that many options and were very limited on how many toppings you can have and some toppings were considered "sides" and they charged extra for masago after I already got my side of crabmeat and two toppings of edamame and cucumber. I understand charging extra when someone goes crazy on toppings but I only had a couple selections so I don't think that was reasonable. I stuck with my usual tuna, spicy mayo, and eel sauce. I always get extra as well poured on the top and that spicy mayo was SPICY. It was a little heavy handed in my opinion but still edible. Overall I wasn't too impressed with my food and it was fine but nothing to rave about and I'd rather drive further to get better poke. read more
