Found this poki place on our visit to SLO. It's a great place for a quick poke bowl! I love that the sashimi is so fresh here. I ordered a medium bowl ($19) with spring mix as base, with three proteins - shoyu ahi, and two types of salmon (wasabi and plain). I'm not a fan of over-sauced bowls, so I skipped the extra dressing entirely and turned out my poki was still packed with flavor. The crab mix salad and green seaweed salad sides are great, and I also added fried garlic and furikake for crunchiness of my poke, it was the best decision. I love my poke selection. read more

I have been going here for years! They have a sushi burrito (pretty much), need I say more? The staff is always super friendly and accommodating. It is a lotto hard for them to hear your order over their table but it's definitely worth it. I love the mural on the side and how everything is laid out and clear on their menu. The tuna and salmon had a "fishy" smell and just taste that fresh. Overall, the younger gentleman that built my bowl was very friendly and informative of the toppings. I got a bowl with white rice, tuna and salmon, seaweed salad, cucumbers, corn, green onions, and corn. For my sauces, I got sweet shoyu & ponzu. I thought my protein was incredibly salty, which is interesting because I thought the "sweet" shoyu sauce would nicely balance the citrusy ponzu taste. The protein also had a fishy aftertaste. I also thought my cucumbers had a soggy consistency to it. Though, everything else in my bowl was better. I liked the sweet, fluffy rice taste and crunchiness of the seaweed salad. In addition, my friend thoroughly enjoyed her bowl, as pictured at the top. The service was mediocre at best, as the worker had a cold and apathetic demeanor toward me. Though, every other worker in the store was friendly towards me and my friend. If you're looking for a quick poke fix, this place would satisfy that craving. Legitimately the best poke bowl I've had from Hawaii to New York. As of today, for $21.95 you get 4 large scoops of protein plus 3 sides which can also be protein like spicy tuna or avocado or mac salad. All of the sauces are gluten free and made with tamari! Only a couple items weren't gluten free, such as the fish eggs. I felt like I was waddling out of this place it was so filling the entire day. I absolutely will be back! Is the establishment not called pokiRito?! That broke the camels back! They didn't have it listed anywhere on the door that they weren't doing wraps. I called to mention that they should have it mentioned if they're not going to do wraps on the door so that customers are aware, and the woman was so rude to me. PokiRito is a standout as far as local poke goes, and it's absolutely great for a healthy meal. Depending on how hungry one is, there are three sizes of poke bowls available with a base of either white rice, brown rice or mixed salad greens. I prefer a half rice/half greens combination as a healthier option. One may choose proteins from fresh fish -- Ahi tuna, salmon, albacore, yellowtail or sous vide shrimp / scallops, or cooked selections such as Spam, Kalua pork, teriyaki chicken, beef patty or egg. I have found their fish to always be very fresh & delicious. The sides & sauces selections are wide reaching. I like combining a couple sauces for a wonderful mixture that enhances the bowl. It's great that the sides of spicy tuna or spicy crab, avocado or tamago are available as a regular side, not as an extra charge as at some other poke restaurants. The mix-ins & toppings (veggies, fruits, kimchi, edamame, crispy garlic/onion & many others) selections are nicely varied. Parking is extremely limited and tight, as PokiRito shares the lot with other businesses near campus. The employees are upbeat & friendly as they work as a team to keep the line moving. Mind-blowing, mouth-watering, awe-inspiring. Where have I been??? I had an opportunity to eat here before but I passed because I wanted some Popeyes which is next door. Uggghh. I missed out but not anymore. This is a game changer. Super simple, super fresh, super tasty. I had the large poke bowl. I could not finish it! Bomb!!! If you love sushi, get here. Oh my! I am so happy I have discovered this place! Living so close to the ocean, I am always craving poke bowls, but it is so hard to find a good one. I thought that until I tried PokiRito. Firstly, this place is a great bang for your buck! I got a large poke bowl and I could barely finish the whole thing because it was so huge and it was still under $20! They give you so much of everything! Then all the different options! They have everything you could possibly imagine to put in a poke bowl as a add-in. It is completely customized and I was almost overwhelmed by all of the different ingredients while I created by poke bowl. Most importantly, all of the fish seemed very fresh and right from the coast. Living on the coast, that is all you can hope for, so I was a happy camper. Freaking delicious! I got a Medium Bowl, with Albacore, Ahi and Yellowtail dressed with Yuza Ceviche. Loved the topping additions, I go wild, don't skip out on the Mango Pineapple Salsa + Crispy Garlic! My boyfriend, Travis devoured his bowl as well. For $14, those two scoops are very small amount. I ordered ahi dressed and albacore. I had dressing for Yuzu ceviche which is actually pretty good. It's light. I ordered the spicy tuna as the side. You can choose spicy tuna, spicy crab, avocado, seaweed etc. I told the girl I wanted spicy tuna but she scooped spicy crab. I confirmed with her. This is the part I felt odd... she realized that she made the mistake so she scooped the spicy crab that was already on my order with the dressing back to the container. Then she scooped the spicy tuna. It's kinda odd what she has done. I would not have done so since the flavor can be contaminated. Honestly my favorite Poke place in SLO. I would even go here if they had a location in the Bay Area. This spot is a solid place to get poke and they have good portion sizes as well. PokiRito is located a plaza on Foothill with Rite Aid, Blaze, Scouts, etc. I usually get a small bowl which comes with 2 scoops of protein and it fills me up and sometimes have leftovers as well! A small bowl will cost you around $14. They have a good selection of toppings. I love their spicy crab! One thing I do wish is that they gave a little more rice. Oh well, I guess I can ask for more next time. Overall 5/5. Service depends on the time/day you go, but if anything you can order online on their website if you're in a rush! read more

I can't even remember the total number of times I have eaten at Pokirito, but it was my main staple of food during 3 of my college years! While I do not live in SLO anymore, I always get cravings for it but get so sad that I can't get it or can't find a place that compares. I can tell you that the employees are the best, the proteins the freshest, the store is very clean, and this is just my favorite place to eat at. My bowl usually includes: White rice with furikake on it, salmon, spicy mayo, eel sauce, spicy crab, avocado, tamago, corn, kimchi, green onions, masago, crispy onions. If I get a wrap, I get pretty much the same thing. There is a little less rice in it, so great if you are on a low carb diet or not as hungry. If I want a snack, I like getting spam musubi with tamago, DELISH! I have tried every single items, cooked and uncooked proteins, sides, toppings, as well as all the crunchy toppings. Whenever I'm in SLO and crave something light and refreshing, I come here! You can customize your base with rice or salad and choose your protein, sides, vegetables, and sauce. I find that all ingredients are really fresh at PokiRito. What's unique: -avocado, pineapple, mango are all not extra charge -ahi tuna & spicy wasabi salmon is really tasty and fresh -yellowtail (or also known as hamachi) is also not extra charge I did notice that during the pandemic they up-charged a couple bucks, though. A medium used to be $12 and now its $14.5, but its compensated by having the above ingredients at no extra charge that would usually require additional charge at other poke places. So I guess ultimately you are sorta paying for it but I think the quantities and quality is well worth it. I also like that the poke here is cut into larger chunks so there is more bite and texture to it when you're eating your poke bowls. They also instituted a mobile order system so you're able to now order online on their website and pick it up in store. I would recommend this place for anyone looking to eat poke in SLO. read more

I was driving to the grocery store and happened to look over and see PokiRito, I have always wanted to try a "sushi burrito" so I knew I had to stop in. Parking is a little nuts with all the other establishments, but once you battle that you're good to go haha. I walked in and was happy to see a line, that means this place is good. The place is bright and even though small inside it has a lot of seating, they utilize the space well. I noticed you can get the sushi burritos and poki bowls in 3 different sizes so that was cool. I ended up getting a medium poki bowl in the end haha, I've been to places like this before minus the sushi burritos so I knew how it worked. I was surprised that they offered a lot more toppings then most places and are very generous with the portions.
