(Small 11.99) they should probably call them medium, large, and extra large because my medium was very large and my friends large was huge! They don't skimp on anything, sauces are perfect, everything is fresh, and it's all super delicious. I wish I tried this place sooner! The owner told me regulars try other poke places and are shocked at how small they are after being so spoiled. I have to agree, only because I couldn't believe how much bang you get for your buck! I've tried all the poke places in the area and I keep coming back to this one. It's the best. It's clean, no frills. You come in and fill out a sheet of what you want then give it to the guy to make it. Perfect for folks who just want to order and eat with minimal small talk. I always know what I want so it's an easy process. If you have a lot of questions and need hand holding, you might be disappointed. The best part is the amount of food you get! I have been wanting to stop by here and finally got a chance tonight. I love poké and this is a build your own concept. It is easy to find in the regal cinema shopping plaza, next to alchemists with plenty of parking. There are menus right when you walk in to fill out with markers if you choose to. I just walk to the counter and started to build my large bowl. You can choose up to 4 proteins with the large size. My bowl was filled with plenty of soft brown rice. The proteins (spicy tuna, salmon, albacore and octopus) are tossed with mix-ins and the house sauce + spicy mayo. The bowl was piled high with my sides (seaweed salad and crab salad) with furikake sprinkled on top. I even got a side of seaweed to go along with it. The gentlemen helping me was so nice and the portion was really generous. The ingredients are fresh and the bowl was delicious. I would definitely come back again. This poke restaurant is pretty good. I definitely appreciate that it has so many different options and everything is so fresh. For me personally, I prefer a base with sushi rice and vinegar. That's how I make my poke at home, and I think it gives the bowl the right texture and extra kick on my palette. However, poke bar uses plain jasmine rice, it seems. I got this as a takeout so i was just able to add the rice vinegar myself when I got home. I also don't feel like they give nearly enough protein to warrant almost $15 for a small bowl. My husband weighs his food for a macro conscious diet and there was 1.5 ounces of fish given per bowl. That kind of makes the bowl ratio off when you end up with filling left over and you run out of fish early. Overall I think this is a good week night spot to get something healthy and fresh. There is a huge parking lot in the popular shopping center in which this restaurant is located. When we walked in, we were greeted immediately by three people behind the counter. When they learned it was our first visit, they were eager to provide us with information about what they serve and how to order. I opted for a bowl with brown rice and spicy tuna. I selected the house dressing and spicy mayo. My husband ordered the spicy tuna, scallops, and octopus. Our son is a little more selective, so he just had white rice, corn, edamame, and cucumbers. With the large bowl, you have the selection of four different proteins. I chose Albacore, spicy tuna, salmon and shrimp as my proteins. There are a wide variety of mix-ins. For my mix-ins I chose, Kale, cucumbers, jalepeno, corn, cilantro and onions. I chose the Poke bar house dressing, sesame oil and ponzu for my added sauces. To garnish, I selected cucumber salad and crab meat salad. My dry toppings were crispy onion, crispy garlic and furikake. The proteins were very fresh. All of the topics were extremely fresh. You choose a base of either white rice, brown rice or spring mix. Then you choose your protein, they had tuna, spicy tuna, salmon, shrimp and tofu too. They have a lot of vegetable toppings to choose from such as onions, cucumbers, jalapenos, pineapple and many more. There are three sauces, a few are soy sauce based and you have a spicy one and a ginger one. After that you can top it with sesame seeds, ginger, a spicy blend of dried items etc.. they have green tea, bottled water and some other soft drinks too. Very good. I love this chain! I went on their first soft opening day, Thursday. It was packed, but nobody was in line at the moment. The line started forming quickly after though. You line up, pick your size bowl, pick your proteins, then your toppings as you move down the line. Keep in mind that toppings like avocado or extra crab salad are extra $. The prices are great though, and there are plenty of toppings to choose from. I've been to the Roswell one, so the portion of my bowl was a little off. The amount of salad I got for a medium was way less than the small that someone in my group I received. He literally grabbed maybe two pinches of salad, so I had wayyyy more protein and very little greens. Also, the cashier charged one of us for a medium when it was a small. I guess not a big deal since it was their first day, so they are still adjusting. They were offering complimentary soft drinks and iced green tea. Nice! I will definitely frequent here since it's closer to home, but hopefully the small kinks will work out soon. read more

Poke or Poki, both spellings are correct, is just plain old sashima (fish) in a bowl with various yummy ingredients you choose yourself. I think the whole craze really started back in Hawaii, but not sure, Obviously sushi is from Japan and Korea and they probably have had these type of sushi bowls long before Hawaiians even knew what it was. I've come here twice now, but this is their third location I've been to. It's a national chain. (I used to eat all the time at, what I believe is their very first location, on Sunset Blvd in either West Hollywood or Beverly Hills, it was up there near the border somewhere I think, as well as their new location on Wilshire, but I digress...) This is the location in Duluth, GA, and I must admit I was shocked, but happy, to see that this chain had spread all way out to Atlanta. The menu is super simple, but if this is your first, I've watched them patiently help newcomers with their orders and options. What are those options you ask, well here you go: [ they consolidated some steps in their menu for some reason, but I'm breaking them out into my own steps ] Step 1. Choose your size This is basically how man scoops of fish you are getting. I think, I'm not sure, but I think it goes something like, small is two scoops, medium is three scoops, and Large is four. Step 2. Choose your base. This what the sushi and topping will go on: -White Rice -Brown Rice -Baby Kale (gross, but whatever, I know some of you love this stuff) -Spring Mix ( some sort of salad greens? ) -Nacho (no idea, I will ask next time) Just go with rice. Step 3. Now you choose the protein scoops, it's all fish except for the TOFU -Tuna -Salmon -Albacore -Spicy Tuna -Octopus (okay, technically, this is arthropod, not a fish) -Shrimp -Scallop -TOFU I'm a tuna guy, so I almost always either get tuna or spicy tuna Step 4. Toppings / Mix (they call this the mix, because they mix it in with your fish) However, if you order the spicy tuna and want this stuff mixed in, be sure to specify, The Spicy tuna, you see, is already, kind of a pre-mixed 'mix' Step 5. Choose a sauce Now, almost done, you choose what sauce you want, thankfully, they have a sheet which actually lists what is in each sauce. You can also ask them to give you a sample. Choosing the right sauce is important, because if you choose a mayonnaise based sauce and you came here to eat healthy, you are not going to be a happy camper. They recommend you choose two, so you might have to try a couple combinations, before you settle on that perfect one. Step 6. SALADS (Here you pick two salads from the list) - Crab Meat - SeaWeed Salad - Cucumber Salad - Avacado ( $1 extra ) - Tamago ( $1 extra ) ...this is I think that sweet egg thingy - Mango ( $1 extra ) Step 7. SiDES - Masago - Ginger - Wasabi ...and FINALLY Step 8. MOAR TOPPINGS - sesame seeds - dried garlic - something stupid - and this thing whose name forgot but it has bits of sesame seeds and dried seewead AND THAT"S IT. It's actually a lot simpler and quicker than it seems. Everyone here is super super nice, and will help you with your order, so just be sure to ask them. Anyway, this is going to be one of my regular places to go. It's just an ultra healthy and ultra good place to eat, and they make an awesome poki bowl. read more

They were more than happy to explain what poké was and to provide us with popular choices for protein, vegetable, and sauce combinations. They have 3 size options, with the small starting at $8.95 for two scoops of protein. I think their prices are quite competitive compared to other poké places I've been to, while still providing the same level of freshness. I particularly enjoyed their salmon, which was soft and not too chewy. They also had a great selection of toppings and are very generous with their portion sizes. I did find it odd that they served their poké to the side of the rice, instead of over the rice as other restaurants do, but ultimately it didn't affect the quality and taste of the food itself. Poké Bar is a wonderful addition to the Medlock Bridge shopping center, and I will definitely be returning. read more

I had a poke bowl with a rice base, tuna & salmon for the meat tossed in ponzu & their house sauce, cucumbers and green onions for toppings, a bit of tomago, seaweed salad, and imitation crab. To start off, the tuna and salmon were so delicious on their own. With the ponzu and the house sauce tossed onto the fish it was absolutely mouth watering. The cucumbers were nice and had a nice snap to it despite being hit with the sauces and provided a nice touch to the over-all taste experience. The seaweed salad was honestly a true delight, it was so flavorful with you getting hit with this refreshing seaweed taste and the textures of noodles almost. I ordered a medium bowl which comes with 3 scoops of protein and different bases. For the base I went for white rice. They had proteins like salmon, tuna, tofu, shrimp and more. I went with 2 scoops of salmon and 1 scoop of tuna. They mixed the fresh raw fish into a bowl with their own special house sauce and ponzu sauce which gave the raw fish more flavor. The bowls came with many choices of sides but you can only have 2 so I went for the seaweed salad and the imitation crab meat. The toppings I added for my Poke bowl was the clear orange fish eggs so that I can get that fresh sushi flavor. I also added ginger which was use to cleanse my mouth from the fishy flavor and I also got a scoop of wasabi Before I took my first bite, I was blown away by the aroma of fresh fish in a bowl filled with a variety of sides that go well together. Poke is the new thing these days. So many stores. This place is pretty decent. I got the medium ($10.95). I don't have a problem with the price since other places charge comparably. But give some more rice. Rice is cheap. You can't really tell how the proteins taste since it's covered in sauce. By the way, they suggest 2 sauces but get one. I thought it turned out too salty with the Ponzu and Thai chili sauce combo they suggested. That brought down my food experience. The interior is done well but it feels like it's missing a little something. It could be the wall with the menu. Maybe some accent lights but the interior feels like it's missing something. Otherwise, the marble table tops are a nice touch and the store is maintained well. There were 2 girls working in the front. Although they looked like teens, they were friendly and did their job well. Overall, I would say it's worth a visit. Just take it easy on the sauce. read more
