So glad I stumbled on this place! I ordered takeout through their website, which was super easy to use and let me schedule my pickup time. Even on a busy Friday night, the food was absolutely worth the short wait. The sashimi and nigiri were so fresh and flavorful, the roll was perfectly balanced, and the sushi rice was some of the best I've ever had--tender, seasoned just right, and never dry. I also tried the pork gyoza, which were light, crispy, and such a great starter. When I picked up my order, the staff was warm and welcoming, which makes me want to come back and dine in next time. This place clearly cares about quality and service. If you're coming on a weekend, I'd recommend making a reservation--you won't regret it!

Hole in the Wall Sushi is an amazing sushi spot in Alpharetta. Located down the street from Exit 10 off of Highway 400, you are able to try this place 7 days a week. HW is open for lunch and dinner M-F, and for dinner hours only Saturday and Sunday. It is located in a small shopping center off of Brookside Parkway, and offers fully indoor seating. On any of my visits here (whether for lunch or dinner), I've always found this place to be quite busy, but that has not stopped the staff from assisting guests in a prompt manner. My husband and I love to come here for lunch when possible to take advantage of some of their really good specials. I don't have a "favorite" roll here, as they are all really good to me. To date I have not had a roll that I have not liked. The price you pay for the quality of the food you receive is always on point.

Nice sushi spot. I stopped in for a quick lunch. I ended up doing a 2 roll combo with salad. The salad dressing work a nice ginger flavor without being too watery. The yellowtail and Mexican rolls were both fresh and delicious. Nice spot in Alpharetta.

My friends introduced me to this restaurant and it is great! Their sushi is very flavorful and they offer plenty of different options. Their sushi restaurant is small and great! The staff and service is friendly and very efficient. The ambiance is private while a small restaurant so make sure you beat the crowd. Make reservations if you need to and you will be happy that you went.

Shrimp tempura roll & spicy tuna roll

Had a taste for the raw & after perusing the options decided on Hole in the Wall. Went on Sunday when they opened for business at 5 pm & by 6 the place was jammin'. Hole in the Wall is convenient to GA-400 but keep your eyes peeled for it, easy to miss. It's a Quaint little unpretentious place with a decor that reminded me of a Japanese izakaya ( tavern ). Impressive list of rolls, if that's your thing. Settled on the special premium Tuna 3 ways, Blue Fin & Toro sushi & a roll with nori on the outside. Fish was fresh, melt in your mouth & sushi rice was good quality. My experience would have been better if the fish had not been 1/2 tick higher than room temp - IMHO. My perfect sushi rice is room temp that's draped by a lightly chilled glisteningly fresh slice of fish. My partner had the shrimp tempura roll & the spicy tuna roll. Large & filling those two. Ordered yellowtail sushi to finish & liked that as well. The house cold sake is fine but could be colder. I did splurge for a premium 5oz sake too. Very tasty but expensive. All in all great options to be had at Hole in the Wall. Great service too.

Where else would I spend my birthday when in town? Can't imagine. The welcome is the real, the service is excellent, the sashimi, sashimi is fresh and delicious every time. House saki cold or warm and if you can do gluten the tempura sounds amazing and well as other cooked dishes! Booths and initiates tables for 2. Parking is easy as it's part of a plaza! Make it a date night destination!

This is a small spot on Old Milton, and my go-to sushi spot on this side of Alpharetta. I've always had great experiences with their sushi rolls. I love the fireman special, which has a nice kick to it. They do have lunch specials, but I'll typically order off the full dinner menu. Service has always been good too.

I have been coming to this place since before they were able to sell alcoholic drinks, I love sake. The service is amazing, the sushi is FRESH and the other meals are amazing too. One my favorite spots for Sushi. Rather than hole in the wall it should be called "hidden gem" because it really is.

Located in a strip center near GSU Alpharetta on OldMilton. First let me say - I love giving 5 Star reviews and rarely review a bad review unless it earned. After seeing the reviews of nearly 5 stars we had high hopes for a new neighborhood spot to frequent. We won't be back mainly because of the customer service or lack there of and the sushi chef passing off a different type of tuna for what we ordered. We inquired to give benefit of the doubt possibly it was a mistake and he would make what we ordered. The sushi chef still claimed that the red toro he severed us was fresh yellowtail telling us that fresh yellowtail is red in color. We had the Gyoza as well and didn't care it. The sushi was okay but not worth a return trip. To the establishment: If you're going to substitute a sushi order you should ask for approval first. I would have preferred more salmon if yellowtail was not available. - Thank You for the follow up.

Loved it! So fresh and what a great find near me for sushi. The Avocado bomb was my fave- filled with tuna, salmon, yellowtail and snapper.

    Lunch Ultimate Combo

The parking place is not plenty but enough, internal decor looks nice to me with Japanese style. I ordered Lunch Box Special with Miso Soup, my wife ordered Lunch Ultimate Combo, we shared a bit of each other's order. Miso soup came first, I liked the soup which was very tasty with strong died fish base; for my lunch bento box, Salad and Goyza were okay, but two large pieces of chicken breasts were main disappointment, they were neither juicy nor tasty, no thickened Teriyaki sauce wrapped around. For Lunch Ultimate Combo, quality of Sashimi was fresh, but it could be better, I liked white piece better than tuna, which might be cod, for Nigiri, the rice was not moist and soft enough in my opinion. Btw the service was courteous.

FOOD: I had tried the rolls here before and it was okay... 8/10. The fish dishes were fresh but for value of money, okay. The winner of the show, however, were the nigiri -- especially the sushi for 2. There were good pieces of meat (including scallop, tuna). There were some other appetizers on the menu that were okay. SERVICE: we came on a Friday night and it was packed. Thankfully we had called ahead to reserve a table for 6 people. There was only one lady waiting the tables so it took a while for food to come out/us to make our order. AMBIANCE: the store is very clean + peaceful!

I love it! Everything about it, made for a wonderful dinner out with my husband. We were seated promptly on a Saturday night, offered drinks and menu. The color changing wall was a nice visual, I enjoyed watching the sushi making on the TV. It is a small place, I am not sure how they would accommodate a party of 6 or more. Because it was a nice quiet place, I wish the customers should remember that not everyone wants to hear their conversation. At any rate, I ordered my Chirachi which comes with soup and salad. It was fresh and filling. We also ordered two other rolls which came promptly and were also super fresh. The waitress was attentive and checked on us after the food arrived. This was by far the best sushi we have had since moving here. We will definitely return .

There are so many thoughtful little details in the décor that make it feel special. Every server and staff member was genuinely kind and impressively hospitable, offering a level of service that honestly surpasses some higher-end restaurants I've been to. Now, the food. Their ginger salad might be the best I've ever had. They use romaine and green leaf lettuce instead of the typical iceberg, which gives it far more flavor and texture. The dressing was smooth and creamy--not broken, watery, or overly acidic like so many ginger dressings tend to be. The miso soup also had more depth of flavor than most versions I've tried. A bonus surprise: they have more lunch options than what's listed online, and the in-person prices are actually cheaper. So don't rely on the website--come in and look for yourself. I ordered the chicken teriyaki and sushi roll combo. They offer a generous selection of rolls to choose from, and I went with the Alaskan roll. The filling was plentiful and well-balanced. The rice on the outside was slightly thin in a few bites where the seaweed peeked through, but the overall flavor was excellent. The chicken teriyaki was outstanding--juicy, tender, perfectly seared, and full of rich teriyaki flavor. I also appreciated the unexpected cold bean sprout salad on the side, which added a nice contrast to the meal. Overall, this was a wonderful lunch at a very fair price--only $15. I'd happily return and highly recommend stopping in rather than making assumptions based on appearances or online listings.
