I miss when the first owner still owned the place, he ran a tight ship. I go in here with a square order cause its listed as one if the order options, they tell me they dont use square and cant issue a refund and even put me on the phone with the current owner, they tell me why "you people keep ordering on wrong app, you getting scammed" and makes no effort to accommodate me only saying Goodluck getting a refund via square. Though I'll admit I lost my appetite the second the phone was handed to me, food looked watery and gross on the counter, and the man at the register had extremely long and dirty nails, absolutely unsanitary. I couldn't get the refund but if it costs me 14 dollars to never return again then so be it. Maybe stick to the audubon location, who knows. read more

Not sure if I went on an off day, but by 6pm they were already out of many ingredients (white rice, edamame, some sauces). I ordered via Snackpass and they had forgotten the ogo seaweed, carrots and the sauce I ordered (chojang). Otherwise the food itself was fine. When I was waiting to pick up my order, the restaurant also oddly had all their lights off. As the sun set, it just got darker and darker but none of the employees turned the lights on. Probably wouldn't come back to this location, but if I ever do, I would order at the counter to make sure everything I want makes it into the bowl. read more

Big ass sushi burrito !! So good!! GO GET IT!! I used to skip over this place when browsin online for food because I thought they only had poke bowls (which I'm rarely in the mood for), but they have sushi burritos, so obvs I had to try it. The sushi burrito is well worth the price. My sushirrito was truly the size of a brick. It was hefty and filled, and wrapped properly so the contents were properly contained. (On a side note, I generally don't like eating burritos because they're messy.. but the sushi burrito had the nori wrapped around the sushi rice which held its shape and didn't fall everywhere). You get so many options for proteins, sauces, adds-ins, crunchies.. you'd never get tired of it. I went to this location. I did it to go order about sometime in September 2023 the place was clean is very small, but my order was ready and I picked it up. It was a GrubHub order. There was a promo on the grubhub and I I definitely enjoyed it. I would recommend that location. It's in a pretty good area where a lot of Yale students and you know people always visiting the area so I'm sure they stay busy and the Yale studio hotel. is right there. Came in on an empty Friday for a large bowl. Poké is a beautiful thing when done right, and here, the ingredients and portions were just what I asked for. Great number of toppings, and since I didn't get rice, they added a lot of extra greens. 3 large scoops of fresh salmon, wasabi or sriracha sauce, crunchy things, salty things, you can make 10 bowls completely differently if you had the patience to order that many. I really like Pokemoto! Their bowls are a great meal option for a last minute dinner. As a vegetarian, I like that you can pack in so many veggies into one bowl which makes it very filling and cost effective. Also the ingredients are always fresh. Last week we went to get a bowl with hubby and encountered Raul. He was so sweet, helpful and patient as we built our bowls. I usually enjoy their poke but today it was not so fresh. There was a bit of a weird flavor, and the salmon was lacking its usual bright orange color. The salmon was also poorly chopped, and not very firm. The Kani salad seemed to have more mayo than usual, which I do not like, but the radishes were really yummy. I'm not sure what is going on, but I hope they return to their typical quality soon because this used to be one of my favorite places to eat downtown. read more

Best poke place in New Haven hands down! I come here at least once a week. The fish is consistently fresh and chopped into perfectly bite sized pieces (I find that some poke places make the fish pieces too large). The best part is that they don't skimp on the fish or other toppings! I also love that the crab salad is included in the price of the bowl (some places make you pay extra). They have a small preset menu, but I would recommend making your own poke bowl. (I'll put my regular order at the bottom of the review). You can choose from a rice bowl, salad bowl or sushi burrito, but I would recommend the rice bowl. Seating is pretty limited, but most people get their bowls to-go, so I've never had a problem eating in, even with a group. My only complaint is I wish they had later hours or a late-night menu, like Junzi. I think a night menu would be very popular with college students. Wow!! I've had a lot of poke in cali and Toronto but this one is elite!! They made my postmates order in under 10min and were able to follow my special requests (half salmon, half tuna). Although their menu/ordering options could be improved on postmates to allow for more customization (different proteins and toppings). I love that the avocado comes a little mashed for easy spreading and the onions add a great crunch. I order from here a few times a month, for lunch. The delivery is really quick, which I appreciate and this review is 85 percent yay and 15 gag, but the gag part is important. I always get the same thing: choose your own with tofu + ahi tuna. 85 percent of the time, the ahi is fresh and delicious and *finger kiss*. The other 15 though, boy oh boy--it tastes/smells like a salty septic tank with a slight aura of food poisoning. THAT out of the way, I'm willing to take my chances a few times a month, and when it's obvs not the freshest ahi, I pick it out and carry on.
