Polar Cub is hands-down my favorite ice cream shop. I used to come here often as a kid with my family, after dinner, on a hot summer night. Their soft vanilla and soft chocolate are must-tries, and taste even better when topped with some of polar cub's classic peanut crunch. I'm not usually a basic vanilla or chocolate kind of person when it comes to ice cream, but polar cub does these two exceptionally well with their soft serve. Polar cub also has seasonal feature flavors which include new and unique soft ice cream flavors. The hard ice cream is also great, and I definitely recommend the black raspberry. There is no indoor space in polar cub, so it is counter service only. Although there is always a line out the front, polar cub is always very fast. Once you grab your cone you can sit outside on one of their many park benches.

Recommended by a friend, today brought me to Polar Cub. Famous in the area for having the best ice cream. Actually witnessed a debate over whether this place or Cliff's is the best. I couldn't chime in since I'd never been to Polar Cub. But I have now and I'm HANDS DOWN siding with Polar Cub. It's thick, holds it's own on a hot Summer day, the sprinkles were good and the cone wasn't stale. The service is quick and friendly and there's sufficient seating.

This is a great local gem! I got the flurry of vanilla soft serve with Heath bar mixed in. Portions were bigger than i expected and prices fair. Staff was attentive and quick. Loved the outdoor seating around the corner, and will definitely be coming back.

I never really understood the hype around polar cub but once they reopened this year, I gave it another shot, and became completely converted. Their soft serve is SO creamy and smooth that it feels unreal in your mouth. You also can't beat their prices -- a small cup of small serve is already super generous and only about $3. I also love how they do featured flavors every month! I tried the pistachio soft serve last month and it was super unique. It wasn't my favorite flavor but the texture was creamy and amazing. I recently tried their salted caramel soft serve and peanut butter soft serve (both featured flavors in August 2020), and they were delicious! The peanut butter soft serve is seriously something I could eat everyday. I've been converting the rest of my family to Polar Cub and can't wait to go back

How can you make soft-serve ice cream something special? You'll have to ask them. Amazing every time. And what you see in the picture is a medium. It is Americana incarnate. Lots of families hanging out eating ice cream at a walk up ice cream stand. What could be more fun and wholesome than that. We moved away for a while and this is one of the things we are looking forward to the most when we are back.

As a kid, I grew up with Polar Cub...it's a staple of Whitehouse Station. Lines can stretch pretty far in the summer-but the staff is so quick-and kind-and accommodating...the line goes quickly. I absolutely love Polar Cub...They've never gotten my order wrong-their ice cream is ridiculous...and, I hope they never ever consider closing or anything. I think most of our town would go totally insane. read more

If you say on Facebook that you are open until 10pm on Fridays, stay open until 10pm! Arrived at 9:33pm and closed!! You have enough young people working for your company that one of them can update your social media pages. So disappointed. Second time this happened, which I guess you can say shame on me. But I say poor management. read more

Polar Cub doesn't boast about how many flavors, or local, organic ingredients. You won't find any odd or exciting flavors. What you will find is summer at its best: a neighborhood ice cream stand where everyone can find something they want without breaking the bank. The soft ice cream is outstanding, the hard ice cream is consistently good. The lines will always be long - but they really do move quickly. Plus, there isnt anywhere else nearby that's half as good. The toppings are plentiful, though I'd swear my hot fudge I'm eating right now is burnt (but I've been coming here for 20 years - first time it's been a little off). The whipped cream is actually whipped cream, NOT whipped cream topping. Add to that the prices are great - we got sundaes for 3 and an ice cream cone for $11. The only downside is parking - if it looks packed, we just park on the side street and walk over. The lot gets insane during the rushes. Everyone should try Polar Cub at least once. I have yet to find someone who doesn't love it. read more

What's that I see ahead in the distance? Was there a traffic accident? No, it's just a massive line of people trying to park at, slowing down to get into, or leaving Polar Cub. This place is a madhouse all throughout the summertime right up until they close. Tasty ice cream with numerous topping options, and all at a reasonable price. "Yah!, I'm a fan" is a perfect way to describe it. read more

I'm writing this review in the middle of February, after a snowstorm; because I'm craving Polar Cub right now. If they were open, I'd be there now instead of writing this review...but they're not. So on with it. This place is always packed! The lines are long (but fast moving,) the parking lot is full (and causing traffic on Rt 22,) and it's all worth it. First, consider this. When they were closed (due to a fire) we had a tough time finding the next closest soft serve ice cream shop. So if you live in the area and want soft serve, well this seems to be your only option. (If I'm wrong, please do let me know where else so I can give it a try.) As for the ice cream itself, it's awesome. You don't get an icy sort of creamy soft serve. You get a cone full (size down, they're large) of very thick and creamy soft serve. You have a choice of vanilla, chocolate, or twist. If you're lucky, you can get their special flavors - I've had strawberry, banana, and pumpkin. I personally like the honey roasted peanuts as a topping to a vanilla. mmm..... read more

This busy ice cream shop sits along Route 22 near White House Station, NJ. Parking can be a bit of a challenge in the evening in the summer when everyone wants their ice cream fix, but usually there are a few open spots. The ice cream itself was quite delicious. I went with chocolate fudge which had a very rich flavor. I really liked this spot and would definitely return if I was in the area. read more

I love Polar club. I love bringing the kids here and our dog as well as the lacrosse team friends from dance neighborhood kids etc. Brought my wife here tonight for a little mini date for ice cream. I could tell when I approached the window with the young girl with the earring in her bottom lip with no smile on her face that my experience wasn't going to be great. She seemed so put out. I asked her if she was having a bad night. she looked out at the line (it was 915 pm) and she said we're supposed to close in 45 minutes and I said I think those are your business hours. I suggested she smile. I reminded her she is selling ice cream and fun not plumbing supplies. (No offense to plumbing contractors out there). Truth is I get better service from the NAPA auto parts dealer down the road. Ice cream still tasted good read more

This is hands down the best soft serve ice cream in the world. Although it gets crazy crowded in the summer and you may risk your life trying to enter or exit the place, it's still worth it. Just wish they took cards as opposed to cash only. read more

A staple of Readington summers! Summer is just not complete without several trips to polar cub. One of the best items they have is a 99 cent baby cone. It has the perfect amount of ice cream to satisfy a sweet tooth while counting calories. But I always get a bigger size!! Haha! This place has awesome soft and hard ice cream. It's a great place to go on a hot summer's evening. Don't let the long lines turn you off. They always move quickly. Awesome soft serve ice cream! Right on Route 22 heading west is a long time treat. The milk shakes are delicious and the soft serve is such a treat: fresh/smooth/rich/flavorful. And a large soft serve cone is a great value and quantity so be prepared for some cold nose/brain freeze when you order a large! The taste is in my mouth as I'm writing this review and wish I was there now....:) If you order a monster shake (I ordered a peanut butter monster shake one visit) it is delicious but huge! If you are heading on Route 22 in the Bridgewater/Whitehouse area heading west towards Pennsylvania or just live in the Bridgewater/Whitehouse/Bedminster area: take the time for some excellent soft serve ice cream! read more

Polar Cub has been around for a while and has always served the best ice cream of anywhere I've ever been. OK, it's just old fashioned soft serve (at least that's what I get) but it's super good and fresh. There is no way you can get ice cream here and not like it. Haven't tried everything on their board, just the deserts I like, and they're always delish. read more

Known for their vast menu, choices in toppings, ever-changing specialty flavors, generous serving sizes, and extremely reasonable prices, it's no wonder why no other ice cream shop has survived in this town. I'm restricted from sugar, but to my pleasant surprise, The Polar Club had a hard no sugar added Cherry Vanilla. It was so delicious!! Usually, the no sugar added ice creams in the grocery store have a gummy texture. Not Polar Club!! You would never know it was a no sugar added ice cream. Delish! Awesome. Here on Saturday after lunch. I had coffee ice cream , so good. Boys had soft serve. One chocolate dipped, one cherry dipped, one peanut crunch. Delicious and not so soft that it got too melty. In fact, my son always asks for a cup after a falling over incident two summers ago, and he didn't even need it. Only 10 bucks for the 4 of us! read more

Go-to ice cream place, no matter what! Lots of variety/options, really well-priced, and good flavor. The only downside is it closes a bit early and is ALWAYS busy so finding a spot to park can be hard, since they have a small lot. Definitely my favorite childhood place, though. read more

The kids love serving themselves with the fro-yo machines, and choosing toppings before we pay. Usually there are teens or young adults working there and they are always very nice and helpful. The place itself is clean, and there are places to sit inside and outside.

Our Corvette club stopped by Gronsky's Milk House after our monthly Wednesday night cruise…read more Since we arrived after 2pm, only the ice cream menu was available. It was very busy when we got there, but they had three employees working between the walk-up window and the inside counter, so the line kept moving. There is plenty of seating both inside and outside, which made it easy for our group to find places to sit and enjoy our ice cream. Even with the crowd, the staff did a good job keeping up with the orders and everything moved along efficiently. If you're looking for a classic spot to grab some ice cream on a warm evening, Gronsky's is definitely worth a stop.

It's a short walk away, and they are now in Epic Cookies' old location. This new space is bigger and more front and center. A lot of people did not realize that their old location was even there on Division Street, until I took them there. They just opened this location about three days ago, so it was pretty busy when I visited today, and even Karin and her husband were in there helping out! Both very kind people! I came in for my favorite "Death by Chocolate" cupcake and was excited to try two new flavors, Coconut Guava and Lemon Raspberry. I usually check their website ahead of time to see what seasonal cupcakes they have before visiting, I saw those and rush over here. P.s. please bring back the Versailles Cupcake from Summer '25! That raspberry filling is heaven sent, and part of the reason why I came by to try the Lemon raspberry flavor! Even with the rush, the staff was just as friendly as always. I really love it here and always bring my family and friends when they are in town! I'll definitely miss the charm of the old location, but I'm excited for them in this new space and hope that it works out well for them!

I drove to boston because i was in the mood for good pasta .. My time is more important than money when i take time to drive somewhere and the food has changed .. please go back to the other toppings you had and ill gladly come back with no hesitation ... I'm making Polar Cub my first review, because it's so incredibly good! They have the best soft serve I've ever had, but what I love most is the huge variety of toppings. I'm a huge fan of fruit toppings, but most ice cream places only have strawberry topping. I love that Polar Cub actually has blueberry and raspberry toppings. Nothing better than blueberry on vanilla, or raspberry on chocolate. It's well worth the 35 minute drive to go to Polar Cub. The ice cream places closer to where I live just don't compare. read more

If you drive from Rt 22 east to west, before joining to rt 78, watch your right side if you have not seen yet. Due to season, they are close now but in summer time, place is full of ice cream lovers. Of course there is no bad ice cream in summer time, but size of the king ice cream against what you paid for and their large lot and field makes this place special to me. If you every stop by, don't get and go, just stop and enjoy it there. read more

I love the ice cream here; but the service I must say is QUITE UNUSUAL... they have three windows, but choose to use just one.... and while you are ordering; the previous person's order is being shoved at you while you are trying to place YOUR order... if you can handle that kind of pressure; then that is fine.. I personally do not like to have someone grabbing their ice cream out from underneath me.. You decide. read more

A lot of places have hard pumpkin ice cream, but not soft pumpkin. Polar Cub has soft pumpkin and it's out of this world! It has a little bit of spice but not overpowering, and very natural pumpkin flavor. In fact you can see the little specs of pumpkin in the ice cream. I was so impressed when I tried it last week. Now they're closed for the season, and I'm sad that I have wait until March when they reopen. read more

The ultimate summer spot. Outdoor seating with a phone atmosphere. Amazing ice cream-- soft and hard alike. Lots of options. Quick service (especially for the amount of people that are there at any given time). Worth a trip on the highway for this dessert. Barely any parking, though, and I've witnessed some minor accidents. So share cars and have the best driver drive. read more
