I came into the store for a manicure and pedicure. I asked for dip powder for my fingernails and gel for my toenails. The store wasn't that busy so, I was able to be with one guy the whole time. The pedicure was good but, as soon as we started with nails it was obvious that no one working there knew how to use dip. They shaved my nails down too far, didn't have the base white powder and couldn't figure out how to properly add tips. I was very kind to them although I was very frustrated with the situation. I ended up leaving at 10:30 pm when my appointment was for 7:30 pm. I decided to leave once he tried a second time to do powder where it wouldn't stick. I have been getting dip on my nails constantly for at least 6 years and I have never had an experience like this. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!! Rocio was fantastic, very gentle and really made sure my gel pedicure was perfect. She was very good at making sure the creamy white color I got wasn't splotchy/streaky when applied I wouldn't return solely based on pricing and the ownership. Just a polish change with gel was $52 which was only shared after I finished the service whereas a gel pedicure in its entirety is $54...total rip off They also have a special listed for $62 gel pedi+mani I didn't need a full pedicure service but had I been told pricing upfront I would have made a different decision read more

Amazing customer service. Got a gel mani and asked them to be fast and they tried so hard to give me a speedy but good manicure. Gel mani was expensive and I noticed it was chipped the next day. I walked in to let them know instead of immediately just leaving a bad review. They didn't charge me, they quickly fixed it and I had no push back. Respectable business and work the price. A day later I come in to get it fixed I show them the damage and they "fix it" I show the nail tech all the nails that are messed up and instead of fixing some of them she literally grabs crazy glue and glued them back ON?!?! The ones she actually made an effort to "fix" she just put a gigantic dollop of acrylic on top of which she didn't even bother to shape or sand down one of the nails lifted all the way up the next day it's been 3 days since she "fixed them" and this is what we're working with read more

BEWARE, this place will try to scam you. Make sure you keep your receipts. I was charged one amount for a pedicure, and I signed my receipt with that amount indicated. When I checked my credit card statement a few days later, I was charged an ADDITIONAL 20% on top of what I agreed to pay when signing the receipt (tip was paid in cash). When I called them to inquire about it they were very cagey about it and at first did not admit that the price they charge is higher than what they tell you. But after a while they admitted that they charge an "8-10%" tax which doesn't even make sense - is it 8% or 10%??? Tax is not just a made up percentage or range, it's a fixed rate! So that comment alone was very shady. And it still did not explain why I was overcharged by 20%. And even after I signed the receipt, they made a whole fuss about giving me a copy of the receipt when I asked for one so I never ended up getting one. Lesson learned! I've come here twice now and both times have been very mediocre. A regular pedicure is $34 and so not worth it. The lady was aggressive on my feet and it was clear she was rushing. The shape of the nails was jagged and I asked her to make it more round - it still wasn't round at the end. It came out alright but it was so not worth the money. Tried Elegant Nails today after a recommendation from a friend and was VERY happy with my experience!!!! I called to make an appointment, but when I arrived I was the only person in the salon - so may just walk in next time. As to why no one was there, im not sure if everyone was at NYC brunch or if 1130 is just too early for ladies on Sunday's.. Anyways, I met with Cindy who was very sweet and did an excellent job. I would recommend asking for her. She was extremely thorough with my gel manicure and really took her time cleaning my nails and painting them beautifully. She did ask if I wanted an additional 10 min massage, but wasn't pushy at all. As my nails dried I received a complimentary massage which was unbelievable - her hands were magical! I was so relaxed afterwards and loved my mani! My only reason for not giving 5 stars is 1- the decor is nice and clean but not spa-like or uber relaxing, it's just a typical neighborhood salon and 2- while the other workers were free, they were texting/eating/talking. I understand it's hard to sit around when it's not busy but I thought it would've been more professional if they did that in a back room. It won't stop me from coming back though :) read more

0/10 experience do not come here. I asked for SNS with tips and they insisted that I get gel against my request. Once the put on the gel, she puts my hand under the UV lamp and I've never felt a burn this bad. The lady again insisted that it's normal and to take it out for a second and put it back in. She continues to dig her nails into my raw cuticles as she is filing my nails. I've never actually endured so much pain in a manicure. Not to mention the whole process took OVER 2 HOURS. And then the cherry on top was that it came out to $106 for a super average looking manicure. Never coming back here. read more

I used to really like Elegant Nail & Spa, but it has continually declined over the past few months. I always feel rushed to pick a color, even when the salon is not busy. The girls are nice, but all seem fairly inexperienced and I have found that they spend so much time talking to each other and get very distracted, even when they have a client to attend to. The prices have increased and the level of service has declined- no more complementary 1 minute neck massage as your nails dry, and I find that they try to force the $10 10-minute massage. They also recently edited the rewards card that used to be a free pedicure after 10 visits, to now $10 dollars off. I know there is a ton of competition in this area, but if you're going to keep up and raise your prices, at least provide good service. Today I went in for a manicure and while drying, I accidently hit a nail on the counter. When I asked for a touch up, the girl stared at me and while I stood, put on another coat, which is not the solution. She should have taken the time to sit me down and remove the polish for a fresh coat, knowing that the double coating will never dry nicely and is bound to chip. Overall, I really have no reason to go back here now that prices are not an advantage and service is inferior. read more

They truly do a fantastic job here and very reasonably priced. My gel manicure lasts 2 full weeks and never chips. The pedicure was great and it's very clean. Lisa does an awesome job, but everyone here is very friendly and attentive. They make sure you find a color you like and will let you try on as many colors as you want. Katie is wonderful. I had a pedi with her and she did a fantastic job with the cuticles - she took the time using different tools and kept going back to it if she saw something as she was massaging my legs. One thing I did not like was when I was paying Katie said it was $20, then this lady steps in (probably the owner) and says no it's $22. Not that $2 makes a huge difference I just wanted to tip her $10, instead she got $2 less. This was my first time here and I will come back. read more

With no prices anywhere in sight, I got charged different amounts each time, and both times were expensive. Nice people, clean shop. But this last time, they did something to my big toe. Horrible, horrible, horrible. I came here to have a relaxing time with my gf and had the complete opposite. I started with a pedi which I had to stop. The nail technician did not complete taking the old nail polish off of my nails, and she was going to continue with the pedicure. I had to get a new technician, because she wasn't understanding me when I asked her to clean my nails properly. The pedicure was just okay, then we were going to move on to our manicures. We made it clear when we came in that I was the only one doing a pedicure, and my gf and I were going to do our manicures together. She waited until I was done, and we sat at the manicure stations. Only I was taken, and the owner told us we would have to go one after the other. If she would have communicate this earlier then my gf wouldn't have waited to do her manicure. The owner was very rude and arguing with me about it. When I was trying to explain my point she just ignored me. My manicure was terrible as well. My nails were not filed evenly, and there was polish all over my skin and under my nails. I wanted to just fix everything myself but they wouldn't let me. All in all this was a very frustrating experience, and no one tried in any way to rectify the issues. I would not recommend going back. I love this location! If I lived near here, I'd come here everyday, but it's really out of my way. I stopped by here because I arrived way too early for a lunch date with my parents, so I got a pedi done. They have a $25 mani/pedi special, and they also have a SEPARATE 30% student discount that only applies to a single service; it doesn't apply to the mani/pedi special. I just got a pedicure, so the 30% applied. Can't complain; their service is great. I had this really cute guy, who was very meticulous and took his time. He cut my nails kind of short, but whatever, that's my fault for not clarifying. They have a large selection of color, mostly from essie. They also have bottles of quick dry oil in the front, so that you don't have to ask for it. I thought that was nice. I was in a rush by the time I was done (I only gave myself 50 minutes), so I threw that on and pretty much ran out the door. Will definitely stop by here again if I'm in the area. The upgraded pedicures (especially the lemon one) seems very appealing. read more

All i can say is, this place is a joke. Let me start with the initial purchase from groupon. I called the spa 8 times at different times of the day. No one answered the phone. Finally on the 9th time, a guy answered and when i asked why no one answers the phone, he hung up on me. Came here for acrylic tips, and the nails are thick and uneven, the acrylic was applied sloppily and so was the nail polish. My nail tech stopped doing my nails 3 times to tend to people who had just walked in the door, when there were three other nail technicians who were doing nothing and able to help them instead. The shape of the nail is awful, and there is acrylic on my skin. This is not the first time I've had acrylic tips and this is by far the worst set that I have received. I will not be returning and I would not recommend coming here when you can get the same service with a better outcome for the same or even better price. read more

I am SO incredibly confused about all the good reviews. Really wanted to like this place beause a) the reviews are great b) very clean c) open late (10pm) d) $25 mani-pedi deal. That being said.. worst mani-pedi I have ever gotten in my 25 years. I would say I took about a minute to pick a color (which there were very few of) and in that time, was asked 3 times by the pedicurist to come and sit down. The whole pedicure took about 10 minutes--did not scrub or massage my legs or feet, barely trimmed my cuticles even when I asked her to, and barely shaped my nails--even though I asked her to. Didn't even clean out under my toe nails. A different woman did my manicure. Although she was much more polite and friendly than the pedicurist, she completely rushed through the service. Looking at my cuticles now, it looks like they weren't even cut or pushed back (and I got this mani last night). Morevoer, my cuticles look extremely dry. ALSO I had had pink nail polish on when I arrived. Now, looking at my nails, I can see traces of the pink on the nails around my cuticle, so she couldn't even get the old polish off properly. She also did not moisturize my arms and barely moisturized my hands. STILL NOT DONE--the water they soaked my hands in before the manicure was cold...not even a little bit warm. Finally, the nail drying station is squished and awkward--only two spots to sit at, which makes no sense for a huge salon. I REALLY am not picky about my nail salons--just want somewhere clean and a decent job....honesltly would NEVER GO BACK HERE. I have been coming here every other Sunday for a manicure for just about two years. They are friendly and professional and do great work.

They did a great job. I was sad because the one I wanted to go to was not open... but they did a good job. They were quick and it was 12$ with tip. I was comfortable, there was some music but not a lot of talking among the technicians or customers (which causes me anxiety sometimes). They have a good selection of colors and a lot of ESSIE.
