How do I give *more* than five stars?! Food was simply...stellar. Potato pancakes are cooked at just the right temperature so they absorb the right amount of oil, but are yet crispy. The shredded beets have a "secret" ingredient that gives them a scrumptious zing. Stuffed cabbage rolls were graced with a tangy sausage and doused in a delicate tomato sauce. And the pirogi....of course those as well were chock full of wonderful and firm but yielding to the eager diner's bite. We followed this with take-home borscht, and enjoyed the large chunks of beets that were cooked just the right amount rather than beaten into submission as often happens at other places. read more

Okay, I'm extremely picky about my polish food having grown up on it, and this is THE place to go! The man is very nice (can tell he's from Poland). I tried the soup not knowing if I'd like it, so he said if I didn't, he would exchange at no cost. I told him it was great, and he thanked me and seemed to make his day, so you can tell he is doing what he loves and appreciates compliments. You order at the register, then sit and he will bring you the food. Also, pop fountain you fill yourself, which is nice. Sorry to my family, but they have the best stuffed cabbage ever here!! City "chicken?" More like city "turkey." Biggest city chickens I've seen in 65 years. And dee-lish! Joseph Campau quality! The mashed potatoes and the gravy are of equally high caliber. Authentic Polish style sauerkraut, too! This IS the real deal. Conjured up memories of those old Panis that cooked up those fantastic things we had at wedding receptions on Caniff, 50 years ago. WOW. How I wish this was near my house. I would eat here way more than would be healthy. This place is LEGIT. We got a pierogi sampler and loved all of them, but the potato and farmer's cheese ones are by far the best! You can even buy them frozen by the dozen to take home! My boyfriend loved the dill pickle soup, and we both loved their latkes as well. I only had two disappointments, but neither were enough to take away a star: -The apple sauce for the latkes seemed like it was just Mott's and not homemade (I could be wrong, though) -We paid $0.50 extra for hot sauce dip for the pierogies because I thought it was interesting that that was an option, but it turned out to just be two packets of hot sauce that were probably from GFS. Don't waste your money on this. Overall though, holy crap this was great Polish food. I got a package of angel wings to go as well, and they were true to form too. This is the real deal! read more

Absolute best polish food I've ever had. The dill pickle soup is fabulous! Not too creamy and had delicious pasta in it. The pierogies are simply the best I've ever had. Smaller in size than I've had previously but were covered in bacon and sautéed onions. Perfection! The potato pancake was excellent as well. The food was good but seemed like some sorta foregin food which made me by suprise. We stopped by this restaurant to pick up some rake out. What an awesome meal. We got two of the pasties (with kielbasa yum) and some pierogis. The pasties were the best that I've had. The young man that we dealt with was as awesome as the food. The only downside is that I live so far away and that I can't go to pick some more of their delicious food. As Poles, we are very picky when it comes to authentic Polish food. This place exceeded our expectations. We ordered some traditional dishes: pierogi, potato pancakes (placki ziemniaczane), and goulash with potato dumplings (kopytka). For desert we had crapes with cheese (naleśniki) as well as apple pie (szarlotka). All of it was delicious and reminded us of home. We highly recommend this family owned restaurant! What a find! A little place tucked away in a strip mall in between towns way up north of anything I thought we'd find. The boyfriend spied it on a drive and we had to pull in. The gentleman behind the counter was very sweet in explaining what bigos is to my non-polish boyfriend. And man was it great! We ordered one combo plate and some extra pierogis, but barely finished them. Pro-tip: Either go hungry or with a group. The proportions were very generous. The sausage was stellar. And the pierogis were fried, not boiled. (Thank god!) Also as an added plus they were sprinkled with bacon. (Yes please!) Hands down a win. If you're in the area, go. If not, consider the trip. First let me first say that I am 100% Polish so I am used to authentic home made Polish cooking. I visited The Polish Kitchen for the very fisrt time at the recommendation of my cousin. I must say that this is about as close to my mothers cooking as it gets for a commercial restaurant. Everything that I had was exceptionally good. The golabki were delicious, pierogis spot on with grilled onions and a hint of bacon and potato pankages (Platski) were amazing. I live in the Metro Detroit area and we have a variety of decent Polish reastaurants, but to me The Polish Kitchen ranks higher. I think it's the best Polish restaurant in MIchigan and almost as good as Mom's. This will be a yearly ritual for me from now on when I am in the Harbor Springs area. I wish they were closer...
