We were looking for a nice place to have dinner while visiting Niagara Falls, and found this gem. Polish Nook is a wonderful restaurant. The food is amazing and the service is great. Phil had the Polish Platter and I had the Baked Fish. We also had red wine and dessert with our meal. Our server was very nice and the restaurant was tastefully decorated inside. Such a unique and memorable dining experience! The second we entered this place we felt like we were transported into another world. Yes, the decor is dated -- but therein lies its charm. We found it to be cozy and retro. Kelly was our incredibly friendly server who made us feel welcome and helped us choose what to order. The food was capital-D 'Delicious' and a very hearty meal for the price we paid. It was clear everything was authentic Polish food and made in-house (including their legendary pumpkin ice cream pie). I'll start by saying that the Polish Nook has been on my list of "must try" places for longer than I care to admit. I'm kicking myself for not trying this place sooner. I'm a fan of Polish food and have tried most of the other local restaurants with Polish fare, so I was excited to see what the Nook had in store! I ordered the Polish Platter, which comes with kielbasa and kraut, 2 pierogi (cheese and potato) w sautéed onion, and 1 golambki (aka cabbage roll for those not familiar). Since it was an entree, it also comes with choice of soup or salad, bread and butter, coffee or tea AND dessert. It's a lot of food for less than $15!! Ok so back to the platter. This may be a bold statement but the cheese pierogi and the golambki may possibly be the best I've had. That's saying a lot considering I've had many a home made pierogi and golambki - and fortunately those people will not read this haha. But seriously, everything was delicious but for me the cheese pierogi and golambki were the stars of the show. I'm already trying to figure out when I can go back just to have those 2 things. My MIL had the baked fish and said it was very good. It also came with the whole shabang as described above since it's an entree. We both had the soup which was Polish Vegetable (note: that includes kielbasa so don't read vegetarian when you hear vegetable) and for dessert they brought out a pumpkin ice cream pie. Mind you I was so full but yes of course I ate it. Who is turning down free pumpkin ice cream pie!? Be sure and check their hours, their days open we're limited and they're not open for lunch. This place is ok. But is this place yes ok, or is it no ok? Definitely no ok. It's named after the Warsaw version of the large electronic reading tablet which is selling like hot donuts here in the USA. It is released by the same company that released the "Polish iPad", the "Polish Kindle" and the "Polish Blackberry", but the Polish Nook is much more popular than all of those, put together, multiplied by kielbasa. I wanted to love Polish Nook, I really did. Unfortunately I'm comparing it to the Pierogies at places like Pierogies Plus (McKeesport Pittsburgh), Peter K's (WNY) and Sokolowski's (Cleveland), and it's just nowhere near that level. I also like Polish Villa way way better. It tastes much fresher and just does it for me. That's in Buffalo too by the way. Having said that if you're in NF and want a good meal, Polish Nook is a good choice and lots of people will tell you that. It's massively popular in this region and for good reason. It's definitely not bad at all. I may have just caught it on an off night... they're usually very busy so look out for longish wait times. I had the combo plate which had a bit of everything but didn't really do it for me. Still if you're a lover of Polish food make sure you try this place and see what you think. read more

Being from Kentucky, we were given this recommendation by a server at Sunshine Cafe (another great place). We were not disappointed! Being at a Polish restaurant the pierogis are a must. We couldn't decide which we liked the best. The house dressing with bleu cheese crumbles was a nice combo on the salad. We had surf and turf. The steak was cooked to perfection. On a nostalgia trip to my birth town, I had to have some polish food, since it is one of the traditional ethnic bases in Niagara Falls (along with Italian and Irish) Relatives guided us to Polish Nook and we were well please with their sampler of keilbasa, golubke (stuffed cabbage) and sauerkraut. Niagara Falls has several really great restaurants and this is one of the best. My partner and I ate here a few days ago with some of my family. The food was excellent. I had the Polish platter and everything was extremely delicious. My partner and brother - in-law had the fish fry and they loved it. My sister and father had an assortment of different side dishes, all were great. Although it wasn't really busy, I was impressed with the young waiter who handled all of the tables professionally and was really friendly, helpful and nice. The prices were very reasonable and I told my sister that if I had the same dish in an upscale restaurant in Seattle, it would have been three times the price. read more

I loved it! The old school ambiance was great. The restaurant was dated, in a good way. They kept it very clean. It reminded me of going out to eat when I was a kid. We had the polish platter and and it was excellent. The waitress was friendly and efficient. I brought my two young boys, who also loved it. This may have been one of the worst meals I've ever had. My family and I had reservations for 6:00 on a Friday night. When we arrived, the restaurant was already out of all Polish foods. The only food we could order was their surf and turf combos, which supposedly came with filet mignon and your choice of lobster, scallops, or shrimp. The cut of beef that arrived was definitely not a filet. Rather, it was a thin and tough piece of meat. The scallops tasted of metal and were otherwise completely flavorless. I asked for ranch dressing on my salad, and it came out with both Italian AND ranch dressing. It was obvious that the salads are pre-made, with Italian dressing on top, and stored in the fridge. The cook simply glopped ranch on top of the italian dressing and served it up. The service was also pretty horrendous. Our waitress was rude and abrupt, despite the place being very empty for a Friday night. The only positive was that the bar made excellent cocktails that were very cheap ($4). They were needed to choke down the disastrous food. read more

this polish nook is old school and that is exactly what you get . the bar area is great beer/drinks are cheap and bartender was great (stosh). we had mary as our waitress and she is a very very very good/fun waitress.. in fact the service is top notch. now to the food, we all had the surf and turf special for $26.95 .... you cannot beat this anywhere in western new york. and the jumbo shrimp cocktail is huge prongs. we were treadted like kings at the polish nook and will defnt. go back over and over !!!!!!!!!! read more
