Polished is not a cheap place but they do a good job. They're on the spendier side. It's $47 for a classic manicure and pedicure. Their prices are without tax. You can come for a manicure and pedicure for $40 during their happy hour. M-Th 10am-3pm. Also, shellac removal during happy hour is $5 instead of $10. They do a good job shaping your nails but something I noticed is that they don't trim the dead skin off the sides of your fingernails. I had some tough skin remaining on the side of a couple of my nails after my manicure which I had to trim myself when I got home. I don't think you should have to do touch ups after paying for a service so this part wasn't ideal. Their seats are just standard cushioned seats. No vibrating back rubs here! The women working here are very nice and pleasant. I liked the foot bath and the hot scented towels they use on your feet and legs. I called and asked how long a manicure pedicure would take with having shellac removed. The woman said it would take about an hour which seemed very fast but I was happy because I would be on my lunch break. I assumed this meant that there would be 2 people working on me at once. There was one person working on me and the service took over an hour and a half! I was not expecting this. They did a good job but I do wish that the services were a bit more expedient. Not good at all. Made an appointment but still had to wait. In addition, the nail techs were pretty rough and clearly in a rush to get done. they really need retraining on cleaning cuticles because damn it was painful. They didn't ask me if and how I wanted my nails cut or shortened. My manicure already chipped after one day. I watched them thin out my nail polish twice...which is why my polish is already chipped. I had three f'ing people switch up and work on my nails. And is the girl at the front desk licensed to help the techs do nails??? I saw 3 licenses up but 4 girls working. I've been on a quest to find a suitable nail salon for years. You're basically paying for location as far as I can tell at this place because the service and skills are that of places like Hoa Salon, LT nails and those typical Asian nail salons. Except you're paying more at Polished. I don't expect my nail tech to do back flips and jump for joy or chatter constantly when they're doing my nails. But at least pretend you want to be there because your attitude reflects in your work. And boy their attitudes were shitty. read more

Absolute luxury mani-pedis!! They have a happy hr for cheaper price. Recently my husband set up a surprise mani-pedi appointment at Polished for my birthday. Hands down the best pedicure I've had, Rose was amazing with massaging and relaxing me. She actually used hot stones with a foot mask for my pedicure. I got the special Polished pedicure and had a chance to chat with the owners. Polished is now under new management and is more reasonable than what it used to be. This itself was a winner for me considering I found their previous rates to be very expensive. For my birthday I decided to treat myself to a spa day- this can get spendy. But still, I wanted to do it. At Polished Boutique I was impressed. The spa is very beautiful and has a nice relaxing vibe. I happened to be there on a day where it was very quiet so all three of ladies were talking with me and all three were very nice and pleasant to be around. I had a Shellac (french tip) manicure- already almost a week ago and they still look amazing. An express facial which was very soothing, relaxing and informative. And I waxed my brows. Oh geesh, how much did I spend you ask? Well- $150 and that included my tip. Icing on the cake? They have a punchcard (actually an app for iPhone) and for every $30 spent you get a punch which will eventually lead to $30 off a service. I'm hooked, I shall return! read more

I had some time to kill in capitol hill and decided to get some good old underarm waxing done. There are several places in the vicinity, but Polished was the only one that picked up their phone. The lady was happy to squeeze me in for a quick appointment and was happy to provide me with the pricing on the phone right away. I walked in to find a very clean and modern interior, bright displays and neat stations for mani and pedi. I was greeted promptly and after I filled out and signed a standard information and consent form, led into the eshetics room. The girl who did the waxing told me that they had changed ownership very recently and that they are brand new, even though they kept the business name. (So if you see reviews for this place older than 2~3 months, I'd say it no longer applies and they may deserve a fresh start!) She was very quick and thorough with her job, from the initial prep, application of the wax, and final cleanup. I wish I caught her name, because she was so nice and I am definitely planning on going back. They have slightly lower pricing for most of their services compared with other spas in the area. And this is apparently a recent change, so be sure to check out their menu of services. One disclaimer is that the price doesn't include tax, which I found to be different from other spas. But then again, their prices are slightly lower than other spas in the area, so it might just be a savvy business tactics on the owner's part. :) If you're in need of some maintenance and grooming, I definitely recommend this place. Just got to seattle and was shocked to see high end salons charging $30+ for a regular manicure. Polished had good reviews and a $20 manicure so I decided to check it out. The best thing about this salon is how clean it is. All their tools are sanitized and they bring them out in their wrapper. You start the manicure by simultaneously using hand sanitizer. It was wonderful. My nail technician was very nice and didn't try to force conversation but responded to all of my questions. She took the utmost care to ensure the shape and length were exactly what I wanted before she started painting. She was incredibly meticulous about painting my nails and I am so happy with how they look now. I would 100% recommend you check this place out. The only drawback is how small it is so I would definitely recommend making an appointment ahead of time. read more

I had an AmazonLocal voucher for a pedicure and basic facial. I was pleasantly surprised by the location, as it's not very well-fronted to the street so I guess my expectations were low? Upon walking in, I realized how clean and modern the decor was, and was greeted pleasantly. My pedicure was lovely - the technician (whose name I did not catch) did a wonderful job both rubbing my feet, cleaning the proteins off the nail, trimming my nail and the skin around it, and was very detail oriented with the cherry-red polish I chose. (Got to be wild sometimes, right?!) My nails ended up absolutely beautiful and delicious looking. If you're into toes (I joke! I joke :) My facial was also very nice. I had a wonderful shoulder and arm rub along with the steaming, rubbing, cleansing, exfoliating, etc. that occurred. I believe that the person who did my facial was named Chelsea - I loved her straight black hair and stylish bangs. Very Over-priced . . . mediocre manicure. I was on vacation in Seattle and wanted to get my nails re-done. I was impressed by the reviews of Polished and decided to head there. The store was very clean, pleasing to the eye, and tools were sanitized. This made me very glad to be there and I relaxed into my seat. Sadly the seat that I relaxed into, was not very comfortable - a lawn chair with a pillow on it. The table - an awkward height for the chair. There was only one UV dryer, so I was told to perform contortionist moves to reach the manicurist and the dryer at the same time. There was no sink, or water bowl, so I was asked to go wash my hands in the bathroom. These would all be understandable in a budget salon... but this was "a spa." The manicure itself was mediocre. . . nails were filed crooked, polish was painted crooked. . . Again, this would be understandable at a budget salon... but this budget manicure was $55 plus the tip. Had I known I would be dropping $70 for manicure (mediocre or not) I would have walked out. $70??? Unacceptable in my book. For that price I should have had a massage, nail art, and some sort of bonus prize. read more

Nice, small boutique spa. I experienced outstanding service from Tran, a nail technician, during my first visit and Sonia, an esthetician, during my second visit. Attracted by their "happy hour" sign, I walked in after having a rather disappointing pedicure a few days before at another spa in downtown. Semir made me feel at ease and booked an appointment for the next day, when our schedules would work. (Always best to book ahead but I know that they take walk-ins.) Tran gave me a top-notch mani-pedi during their "happy hour" for $40. I felt comfortable knowing that all of the tools were thoroughly sterilized. Tran fixed my ingrown toenail problem and I selected a fun color from their selection of Opi products with the help of Semir. Pedicure is still looking like new after 2 1/2 weeks of lots of water sports and hiking as well as many fun open-toed nights on Capital Hill! I decided to come back again and try the "polished facial." So happy I did. Sonia, who also works for a plastic surgeon, did an impressive job. She is very knowledgeable of skin issues, aging, acne etc and doesn't try to sell you anything. She gave me some good advice to help my teen-aged daughter with her acne problems as well, which has helped her immensely. Semir treated me to a wonderful berry smoothie afterwards that she had made at their own juice bar. Yum! The spa is very clean with a relaxing atmosphere and large windows in a modern building. There is free 2- hour street parking or a bus stop right outside the door. I wish that I could be a regular customer but 950 miles is a bit of a stretch. First and foremost, Esther is awesome. My mom and I have wanted to come in for a mani/pedi for a while, but our schedules kept changing and I kept having to re-schedule. Esther was SO friendly and accomodating, and they didn't charge me for cancellations (none of them were last-minute). Esther was a constant source of positivity and smiles, and really made the experience awesome. My mom is VERY picky. She is quick to call out a place's faults, but loved Polished. So I've been to infinity nails, 12th Ave nails, and Broadway nails in Capitol hill, and polished nails may be on the more pricer side, but take it from me, you're better off spending a little bit extra on a quality mani pedi that isn't going to chip off in a week. Bonus: and also be treated like a human being! I've gone here for both a pedicure and gel manicure, and both times have been pleasant with stellar results. I've been kicking myself for not going here more often and looking for cheaper options. The manager truly makes a point to remember your face, ask how you're doing, and see what they can do to accommodate. I also appreciate that they have issues of the new yorker lying around Their polishes and gel polishes are fairly new and are good quality. I also liked the hot stone massage during the pedicure, and that they sterilize all their equipment and open the wrapping in front of you. All the women that work here are gentle and tragically kind. Both the pedicure and manicure came with massages. If you're already treating yourself with a mani pedi, at least go to this place and know that you'll leave with your dignity still in tact. read more

My first uncomfortable mani-pedi. The pedi chairs look pretty, but don't function well. The basin of the sink is short, which means very little water. My water was lukewarm and bordered on cold, but not to worry, the hot stones burned me. The wooden foot rests dug into my legs, and I had to constantly readjust. The scrub job was an afterthought, as was the foot rub and polish. The mani was no better. She insisted on cutting my nails short after I told her I wanted them long. She spent almost no time filing or polishing. The hand massage was so short that I could still see the lotion on my arms when she was done. They were busy and taking every walk-in without an appointment. I've had better manicures at the less expensive places around town. I'll return to those. read more

This nail salon looks very nice, and is quite clean. There's a good selection of polish colors, and the people seem nice enough. Those are the pros. The Cons: If you don't get one of the few massage chairs, you'll be sitting on a hard-ass uncomfortable bench with foot soakers that don't bubble. So freaking uncomfortable!!!!! The foot massage lasted about 30 seconds per foot. And on top of that, my polish is streaky. I'll have to add a coat just to make it okay. I didn't notice that until I was outside in the light. I go to Polished Boutique frequently to get pedicures and shellac manicures. I have been going here off and on for almost a year. I love this place! They do an amazing job, are friendly, clean, and comfortable. Once my nail got a little smudged, and the girl did an amazing job fixing it. They were honestly more concerned about making it look good then I was! Even the owner came to check it to make sure it looked good. Another time I was there and another customer started getting upset, and the words, "Well, you don't have the hottest color of the season, so what do you expect me to do?" actually came out of her mouth. I couldn't believe I was actually hearing someone act so petty and rude! The (I think owner) really wasn't having any of it, and did offered for her to not have to pay for her pedicure. That sold me on writing this review. I wanted to give the owner a high five! They have A TON of colors to choose from, and are always telling me which ones are their newest colors. I have never had any issue with not finding a great color. So, if you need to have the hottest color of the season, and going to be rude about it, maybe don't go here. I was looking for a new nail saloon to go to regularly as my 'go-to' place was increasing prices. The ladies were VERY friendly, however the gal I had for my pedicure spoke no English, the few things I asked her for, she had to get the manager to translate. The manager was very attentive and very friendly, I really wanted to be impressed. The Pedicure chair was cool looking, but it wasn't a massage chair and not overly relaxing. I did like the foot stool thing for them to work on your toes though. The polish was nice, we'll see how it stays. The massage could have been longer too, felt rushed and not very deep, just very 'rubby' not massage. I also got a Shellac Manicure. I felt really good about about, but when I left and looked at it, they did what most do, but it's annoying, and didn't put the polish all over the nail. There was space on both sides of my nail and it didn't go to my cuticle. I'm not a fan of this at all, paint the whole nail, come on. I was very shocked at the end when my total for a Shellac Mani and reg. pedi was $65!!! the pedicure was $30?! and $35 for shellac and you didn't even cover my nails fully? The worst nail salon experience. I came here to get my nails done for my wedding. I told my nail tech this to share my excitement, but she either just decided to ignore me or didn't understand me. She just rushed me to choose a color. I was trying to decide between two colors when I hear her commenting to the nail tech next to her in Vietnamese that I was taking so long just to choose a color. Just because I'm not talking to you in Vietnamese doesn't mean that I don't understand Vietnamese. I quickly chose a color and she started working on my nails. I asked for oval shape, which she originally did, but it gradually became almond shape. I thought hey it's fine, almond looks good too. It was my first time trying SNS dip nails so I was unfamiliar with the process. When she started working on the right hand, I looked at my left hand kind of shocked and asked her if she was done with it. She said done. It was very thick and the color looked nothing at all like the sample. So I raised my concern and she called over another nail tech as she didn't understand what I was saying and I explained my concern again. I asked if there was anything we could do about it. Instead of trying to go through options or explain anything to me, my nail tech then just threw down the nail samples and told me to choose another color and complained to the other nail tech in Vietnamese that she had already done all the work. I felt very uncomfortable and didn't really say much at that point. I just wanted to get out of there. Finally the receptionist came over and explained to me that she was in fact not done with my nails. It still needed to be filed down and there would be a glossy top coat. She assured me it would be nice. My nails turned out below average with some bumps and uneven coloring. The whole experience was terrible and I will never be returning to this nail salon. read more

I took my bridal party to Polished a few days before my wedding for manicures and pedicures. They let us bring in little treats and champagne and provided us with glasses! The ladies here made the day so special - all my bridesmaids were really impressed by the service and our nails all turned out great! I decided to keep my wedding nail polish as long as I could (it was so pretty), and honestly it's lasted SEVEN WEEKS already! It looks silly obviously because it's grown out, but even after clipping and filing my nails, the polish is still good as new and hasn't chipped. We also all got our eyebrows sugared and they were so gentle and turned out great. I've decided to only go here from now on for waxing! read more

Under new management! :) The place is nicely appointed, clean and well run. You are greeted right away and brought either a nice hot cup of tea or a glass of water. The inside of the salon is cute and well designed. Good magazines abound, as well as skin care products. It creates a relaxing and spa-like atmosphere. Salon is impeccably clean. Tools always come out of a sterile package. Bathrooms, spa room etc are always clean looking and smelling, neat and tidy. Another point of interest is the pedicure chair. Polished has these unique little stools that lift your feet to the appropriate height, and also tip so the pedicurist can do a better job with less effort. And for the recipient, it's pleasant, too. No holding your leg in midair while they scrub at your soles. The downside of this convenience is that the chairs do not recline or adjust for height all that well. And no massage chair. Just a regular (but comfy) seat. Personally, I'm a sucker for a massage chair. I come for shellac manicures, as well. Execution can depend on who your technician is, but I adore Cindy. She's an utter perfectionist with filing. My hands, which are short and small, always look elongated and a little more dainty after she's filed my nails into a soft oval. The color selection, since the new management, is much better. The owner is very trend-aware and always ordering new products and polishes to keep her customers happy. I love that she carries CND (old faithful), OPI, and Essie gels. And speaking of the owner, she remembers her clientele and really goes out of her way to take care of repeat customers. Overall, a very nice little place conveniently located in the Pike-Pine neighborhood. Bonus points for hiring a receptionist who has an eye for suggesting interesting colors that might work with your coloring. Tip for new customers: weekday drop ins are a great way to get a discount, and you'll get seen more quickly. On weekends, make (and keep!) an appointment. read more

Had been procrastinating my mani/pedi, so I decided to try a new place and Polished was nearby. I made an appointment for 2pm the next day (I originally asked for 3pm but she said they were unavailable then). But when I arrived at 2, they had me written on the calendar for 3...? They were able to fit me in right away, but that seemed odd. I would have to say that my Classic Mani/Pedi was just okay. The shop is nice, tastefully decorated, and clean, but the bench seat for the pedicure was very uncomfortable, the seat depth was shallow and the cushion was thin, and I had to sit up straight because there was no reclining back. Not very relaxing. (Also, I'm not usually a music snob, but: a Celine Dion album on the sound system? On Capitol Hill? Really?) There was no hand soak to soften the cuticle before she started working on the manicure, which made it a little dry and sensitive. She didn't spend very much time on cleaning up the nail bed (I get ingrown nails on my big toes and regular pedis help keep that from happening, if they are thorough enough) or the cuticles, and my nail shape on my fingers is a little lopsided. It isn't very noticeable, since I'm using a glitter polish this time, so it'll do, and she was careful in the application so I don't have polish all over my fingers. I had high hopes, but I think I'll stick to my usual neighborhood place down on Broadway--about $20 cheaper for a more thorough job. read more

Got a nail removal here after getting false nails for the first time. The woman who filed them off left my nails so thin that it hurts to use my hands. I can't touch the nail beds or use my fingers without pain. It will be months until they grow out, so for now I'm stuck with bruised & paper-thin nails that prevent me from doing anything normally. During the removal, the woman used a very aggressive Dremel tool to take the nails off & drilled off some of my skin in the process. When I winced with pain and took my hands away she yanked them back & didn't seem to care at all that she was hurting me. She was also yelling at her coworkers this whole time and was quite rude to me, I felt very uncomfortable having someone carelessly file off my nails while being so clearly angry. Came home with my nail beds completely destroyed - raggedy, rough and incredibly painful. For my first ever nail experience, this was pretty awful. I will never come here again. Please avoid this place for nail removals unless you don't want to use your hands for the next few months. read more

I just moved to an apartment down the street and stopped by Polished a few days ago to ask about rates/appointments. The place caught my eye, it's in a modern newly-constructed building and seemed, in a way, pleasantly secluded. It was nearing the end of the day, so the woman I spoke to (who I think is the owner?) was so gracious and scheduled an appointment for me the following day. True, this is not the cheapest mani/pedi in town. But it's a really, really good one. The staff is friendly, the place is cute and clean, and genuinely relaxing. No, the chairs do not vibrate, but they are comfy! They also have a really nice, large selection of colors to choose from, and offer gel, vinyl, and regular polishes, as well as acrylic I believe. And I had one lady giving me a pedicure while another was filing my fingernails - sooo nice to get that all done at once. They truly give you the whole spa treatment. You get a refreshing orange scrub (I love the citrus smell), a hot stone massage, a hot towel, and a foot massage.
