I would not recommend Polished Nail Bar. When you first walk in they play unbearably loud music which makes the atmosphere overwhelming. When greeted I was sat in a chair for my pedicure and was ignored "soaking" for nearly 40 minutes before I had to announce that I had been ignored and dissatisfied, leaving without any service complete. Not the place to go if you're looking for a spa-like zen! It is so unbelievably loud you can barely hear yourself think and forget about trying to make a phone call or answer a call. I asked them to turn the music down twice and it went down slightly, but it was overwhelmingly loud and felt like I was at a club instead of a Nail Salon. Customer service was fairly good and the actual pedicure itself was just OK. The biggest infraction was just how LOUD it was in there. read more

I got a full set with gel polish about 2 weeks ago. The first week the middle finger lifted and I had to put glue on it. That's ridiculous for the first week. It's now the 2nd week and I'm missing 2 nails and on the left hand 3 nails are lifted and one missing. On the right hand I have 3 nails lifted and one missing. I'm a librarian so I'm not doing anything hard on my hands. I've been getting my nails done for over 20 years and I have never had this happen. The shape could've been better too. They do offer wine but I think that's so you don't notice the terrible job. The chairs are also uncomfortable. It's a barstool and I don't know how anyone can sit in that room get their nails done. read more

The music is very loud. Theres a masked bouncer/door attendant/bartender. Lots of dude's drinking. A few of them are eating Mexican while getting pedicures. The place is dirty, the chairs are wore and ripped. Boxes everywhere. definitely not relaxing. Pedicure was mediocre at best. read more

This place is disgusting and filthy. It smells like sulphur. They ignore you and neglect you if you're just getting a polish change or regular polish. They don't have a good selection of polishes. I asked to see their OPI gels and they hand me a cardboard box of polish covered in dirt and filth and dust. I don't understand how or why it's still open honestly. I came in a little over an hour before closing. I originally just wanted a pedicure but the tech upsold me on a manicure and a pedicure. I asked her if she had enough time so that it wouldn't be a rush job and she assured me it wouldn't be. It was in fact a rushed job and not worth the $80 total. Great gel manicure experience at the Downtown Raleigh location on December 4th and wish I could recall the name of my nail tech. She skillfully attended to cuticles, nail shape, and polish. It was one of the best manicures I've ever received. The salon was beautiful but unpretentious. I will return whenever I'm in Raleigh and will be certain to try other locations. read more

I'm going to preface this by saying none of this is an over exaggeration, it's as factual as I can recall. First impression: the place is absolutely gorgeous. When me and my friend sat down for our pedicures, we were offered wine. I am a sober person so I asked if they had a soda or water, but they only had water. They brought my friend a generously full glass of wine and handed me a rocks glass with literally 6 ice cubes and two inches of water...? I asked for a gel pedicure and picked a gel color. While I was getting the pedicure the woman attending to me rushed through the entire process so quickly. My feet were in water for less than 5min, she spent all of 10 seconds on each foot scrubbing the rough parts (which honestly made them rougher and snag when I got in bed), and gave me the quickest and weakest "massage" that was the equivalent of rubbing in lotion on my feet and legs. As I was distracted speaking with my friend, I checked back on my toes as she was polishing them and noticed she was applying the clear coat over regular polish instead of the gel I had requested. I accepted my fate. Once done with the pedicure, I was moved to the bar for a gel-X full set which was going to be done by the same woman. I do my own gel-X at home so I am familiar with the process, but it takes me hours so I wanted a professional to do them for me as a special occasion instead. As she fitted me for the gel-X nails I noticed that she wasn't comfortable with the process because she wasn't pushing them down to measure the proper fit. She started making cuts out of the bottom of them so they would "fit" and when I saw how huge the size of the thumb nail was that she picked out for me, I politely declined getting my nails done. I was anxious about the potential disaster to come and was simply no longer confident with her skills and just wanted to be done. That was the first time I have ever stopped a nail tech from doing a service because I felt uncomfortable and it took a lot of courage. I sat with my friend and talked to her while she finished getting a beautiful new manicure, then I paid for my pedicure and tipped well. read more

Sure there are fancier places and many to choose from, but every single times over the years I have visited, anyone who walks in the door is acknowledged immediately with enthusiasm (often by the owner herself Coco, who is the most friendly and inviting person, or by her husband Donny who is also wonderful). The place is clean, plays fun music, and one of the owners is almost always there with a smile, everyday. If you want an upbeat and enjoyable experience pampering yourself, come see for yourself. I made an appointment for 12 on a Sunday when they opened and got right in. Everyone was very friendly, but I had to pick 4 colors before they actually had one that was in stock. The pedicure was just OK. I'm always looking for somewhere that I like better than Nail Kitchen, but Polished had less colors and wasn't really as clean. It wasn't dirty, just a little outdated I would say. Probably will not go again and it is a little pricey compared to its competitors. read more

Unfortunately, I got a gel manicure here and all but 2 nails have fallen off within 48 hours. The edges were beginning to peel up that night, and even after falling off my nails don't appear to have been buffed at all. Understand these things happen, but it's unfortunate that they also don't offer refunds on services. Will not be coming back. read more

I set up a 1pm manicure appointment for a Wednesday 2 weeks in advance. When I arrived, I was instantly confused. There are signs on the door saying please wait until someone assists you and also a sign about masks. However, neither one seemed to be true. Someone doing a pedicure waved at me to come in and the place was a bit crowded. Definitely no social distancing or much mask wearing going on. I told the person at the front about my 1pm appt and he told me to go wash my hands in the back so I did. And then I waited for him to point me in the right direction but that never happened. Eventually someone else asked me what I was doing and once I told them, they sent me back up front where I once again re-iterated I was there for a 1pm appt. He found a seat for me and told me the guy doing my nails would be there shortly. Guy comes over with the mask around his chin. Apparently, me and 2 other ladies were getting their nails done. He asked what we were getting and then stated he was going to do their full sets first. I probably could have told him that I had a 1pm appt. However, I was already so disappointed in my experience so far, I just went ahead and left. I definitely won't be returning here. read more

The theme is glamorous; all white and sparkles. A beautiful and clean venue. The staff was very pleasant and my friend and I were greeted from the moment we opened the door. We came on a Saturday and there was thankfully no wait. Color options are displayed on a "floating" table suspended from the ceiling, which is my only complaint as the table swaying while I searched for colors made me dizzy. We were seated together at two of the numerous pedicure chairs and immediately offered a complimentary drink. Options include red and white wines, champagne, mimosas, or beer; all with free refils! We both got the All-Out Pedicure package, because for the competitive price of $35, why not go "All-Out"?! I was very pleased with the service, my pedicure, pricing, and overall experience. I can't wait to return! Quick tip: Be sure to bring cash for tips. They accept credit card payments, but tips are only accepted in cash/check. I absolutely loved Polished! Service was fast and friendly, I wasn't pushed to get additional services or a more expensive manicure. Additionally the space is well set up to handle multiple clients. I was also really impressed that all the metal tools used for my manicure came from a sealed bag, ideally meaning they had been sanitized. I was also given a nice plush pillow to rest my arms on. But tonight I came in and was so impressed by the color they chose for me that I decided to finally leave a review. This is JAS 007 "Cotton Candy" color powder and it is PERFECT.
