I feel like this place has went down hill. The establishment is very dirty and the staffs break room is in the middle of everyone getting their nails done. I think it unprofessional to be eating in front of customers. This place needs a deep cleaning. Their services have also declined. I would think with the amount they charge they would do a decent job. Recently had a pedicure and the nail tech applied new nail polish on top of my old polish ???? Then she applied steam rags to my legs that smelled like straight barf. I have decided I won't be going back as this is my second time in a row where I was not satisfied. read more

I had the worst nails experience I've had while there. My nails on my hand are all different shapes some pointy some almond. And to add on top of that before I got my pedicure I was told to wait 5 minutes and sat in water in the waiting chairs and had to sit with a wet bottom for my whole pedicure. When I was checking out I asked the front desk girl with black hair in an SJSU shirt if I could be compensated since my bottom was soaked and my whole day of running errands was now derailed since I had to go home. She offered me a key chain and said there was nothing she could do compensation wise. Needless to say I will not be returning! read more

I've been coming here for a while now for my pedicures and I have no complaints. Every time I come in I look for Lyna. She is very sweet, takes her time to perfect and has lots of patience! She recommends colors that she sees are very popular. She always focuses on what she's doing and makes sure you like it. I use to have bad experiences everywhere else where they wouldn't pay attention or they would always make unnecessary comments but Lyna has never done that. I feel very comfortable with her and recommend her completely. 10/10 customers service. The store has plenty of colors to choose from also! read more

This review is specifically for Holly who worked on my pedicure. Highly do NOT recommend!! She did not fill the tub of water the whole way so my feet weren't even half submerged. I had to ask her to put more water. She then asked me to pick which tier pedicure I wanted I said #2 (I come here regularly so I know it is $48 for regular polish and $60 for gel, she did not explain this) She said $60 for #2. I said no it's $48 she then goes oh you want regular polish. She rushed thru the pedicure itself cut my toenails crooked and painted them awful. read more

One of my friends referred me to this nail spa neatly her house in San Jose and I love it. I had an absolutely wonderful experience at this Perfect Nails & Tan on Capitol Expressway this evening! I treated myself to a full set manicure and pedicure, and I couldn't be happier. The service was excellent - everyone was so welcoming and skilled. They provided excellent service, making me feel comfortable and pampered throughout my visit. This is the only nail place in San Jose that I trust to do an acrylic set on me because they get it right every. single. time. I've been going to this place since 2018 and I've tried many different salons since and there always just something off, but the nail techs at Perfect Nails & Tan (@nailsby_melissa on IG) do an amazing job every time I visit. I always make an appointment through text and never have had to wait to get seated. I've gotten service from several different nail techs, and all of them do a stellar job on my requests. I also LOVE how efficient they are as someone with a very busy schedule. When I ask for a very simple design, I'm typically out of there in 45-50 minutes! Also, these nails last AGES. I don't have a labor intensive job but I do lift weights at the gym and these sets will last me over a month! I typically am very safe with my designs and get a French tip or a single color, but today I decided to branch out and try a design I saw on Pinterest and I truthfully was very nervous because I don't love being adventurous with nail designs. I was seated with Kathy and oh my goodness SHE DID WHAT SHE HAD TO DO!!! I showed her a photo of my inspo which was a mermaid nail design with 3D detailing and she got to work. The nails came out EXACTLY how I wanted them to and I am literally OBSESSED. Kathy is so talented and was so patient with me as I showed her many different inspo pics and had her do a different design for each nail. I mean this when I saw that this has seriously got to be my most favorite set I've ever gotten. Pedicure was quick and very basic for $38--and I was surprised by the extra $5 charge for an ingrown toenail. Manicure with powder acrylic was neat and I liked her work for $55, but again, charging extra to clean cuticles felt off. That's basic nail care, and it should be included. Service is wonderful, very sweet girls The quality of my gel is where I'm frustrated. I went in for a mani/pedi and my toes look amazing! My fingers though.. they look great, but I paid to have gel, and the gel is chipping off 2 days after having them. I went and requested they fix 2 of my nails, which they did, free of charge and they were so sweet about it... But literally not even an hour after getting them fixed, another nail chipped. I'm just frustrated and wish that they lasted. Unfortunately I think they're all going to keep chipping off until I get them redone. read more

Update : 04/09/2025 , I went back to the shop and spoke with the nail salon manager . She was understanding , apologized and gave me a refund; on the otherhand , my thumb nail was badly burned under the u.v lamp which unfortunately a refund does not compensate for the nail burn . I made an appointment with a doctor and had it looked at . I was prescribed a antiobitic ointment and numbing cream for the pain. This incident should've never happen . I will not personally be returning to Perfect Nails & Tan for any kind of services . I can't recommend this business due to the bad experience I encountered. read more

I texted the number on their IG page, @nailsby_melissa and they told me I could walk in at 5:30 today. In my texts I said I wanted a gel-X set, and Bebe confirmed that I wanted a gel-X set when I came in. However, she talked me into acrylics instead. I didn't want acrylics but she insisted that the design I wanted wouldn't work with gel-X (in hindsight I doubt if this was true, and I regret letting her do acrylics). Although she was not mean or rude to me, Bebe was VERY ROUGH with both the e-file and the regular file. She filed my nails so hard that I was visibly wincing in pain. I noticed that the nail tech next to me was much more gentle when she filed her client's nails, and the client next to me kept glancing over at me because she probably noticed how rough Bebe was being on my nails. Bebe seemed very rushed as she sawed at my nails. I asked her if she could make my nails a little shorter, and she clipped my nails so quickly and roughly that she cut into the tip of my thumb. This was the only time she realized her mistake and said "sorry". My nails are still so sore and painful hours after getting them done. I also overheard a lot of gossip in Vietnamese. I don't think they realized that I am also Vietnamese and could understand everything they were saying. I didn't feel comfortable to speak up, but they should be aware that customers can hear them. As for the design, I used an inspiration photo directly from their own IG page, @nailsby_melissa. I figured that they could recreate it since they've literally done it before at their salon. I wanted the set on the right (the photo shows two people's sets, I wanted the right one). The glitter on the index and ring fingers turned out badly. The glitter she used on me was much chunkier than the inspo pic, and she put it on thickly all over the nail instead of doing a subtle gradient like the photo. She never asked me if I liked the nails before she finished, so it was too late to ask her to redo it by the time she told me to go wash my hands. She seemed like she was so rushed and she already caused me a lot of pain so I didn't think it was worth it to ask for a change. I'm unsatisfied with my nails and I'm sad because I only get my nails done maybe once a year. I'm going on a vacation for the first time in a long time so I wanted to get my nails done today-- I'm disappointed that it was such a painful experience for nails I'm not happy with. read more

Finally found my new go to Nail Salon!!! My sister recommended this spot for a while and I finally listened to her after struggling to find a nail salon closer to me but wasn't successful. Should have just gone here from the start, I would have saved myself money and disappointments lol. SARA is going to be my go to. She listened carefully to what I wanted. I showed her the reference picture I had and she nailed it! My sister has been going to Sara for over a year now and she always gets complements on her nails. Made a 6pm appointment for a new set with Bebe ( station 6). I showed her a picture of the color and shape I wanted . After leaving the nails way too long , I asked her to cut them down. All nails turned out to be a different length and thickness. I asked Bebe to keep my nails at medium thickness . After asking her to fill them in a bit more she got an attitude and told me not to come back to her station . This was a horrible experience. The entire process felt very rushed and sloppy . The tech who did my pedicure kept touching my freshly painted nails with the UV light. A day after getting my nails done, I noticed that she missed a huge spot on 2 toes. (UPDATE) This was 2 days ago and now two nails are lifting. The service is no longer reliable nor great. The techs rush their work. They're super pushy about upgrading service packages. The vibe is also very similar, if you correct they are very upset, they say some remark in another language. I liked my nails when I first started coming here. I didn't have issues until my nails started breaking at the TIP which cracked my real nail. I came to get a fill a week after getting a fresh full set because the nails started coming off. I was still charged full price! It was fairly easy to make an appointment as soon as I walked in. I noticed it was really busy so I figured a walk in would be tough. The girl at the front desk was very friendly and knowledgeable. When I came in to my appointment I was helped right away and Helen sat down to do my nails. Not much conversation was exchanged between us, which was totally fine with me, but she was professional and willing to give me the set I was originally in for. She was patient, as I tried picking colors, and she was kind. I love the shape of my nails, the color and the design was perfect! Exactly what I asked for. My pedicure was an overall nice experience except for the fact that the person doing my pedicure was not detail oriented. There was a huge language barrier between us but I didn't mind trying to explain. She eventually got it. She was very kind, which made it easy to trust her skills. Unfortunately, when I got home I realized that my two big toes were not done correctly. She had gone over the gel coat so many times that it started to wrinkle and stack. I know it wasn't my shoes because I was wearing sandals that day. Thankfully, I texted the shop and sent a picture and let them know the situation and they got me in ASAP. Once I arrived, I waited for about ten min and then the same lady who did my pedicure originally made it right by fixing both toes at no charge. I also had asked for a soak off for the same reason so my natural nail will not get damaged. After confirming several times with her what I wanted, she still proceeded to cut my nails all different sizes and getting upset with me when I told her that that is not what I wanted. After back-and-forth Anna jumped into help so gracefully. The only reason why I am not giving this less stars is because my experiences outside of this one have always been amazing. Ana ended up taking care of me and did the cutest set on my natural nails now that they were very short and was very apologetic.
