When I say I 'rarely' get my nails done, I mean that. For the most part, my nails are short, polish free and clean. Just my preference. But when it comes time for a special event, there is always one person that I will always go back to because she has taken good care of me in the past. I am happy to share her here-- Nancy. I had never gotten Acrylic nails before and I was game to try because the occasion demanded for nails. Since it was my first time doing this (in the past I've only ever gotten Shellac), this was a completely different experience in that it took a lot of time. I was sitting there for a good 2+ hours getting both the pedicure and the Acrylic nails afterwards. And given that during the manicure part you can't have your phone on you-- you're pretty much forced to watch whatever it is they have on screen (luckily it was something that I enjoyed watching.) What I like about this place is conversation is kept to a minimum. The Nail techs talk amongst themselves but it's not a lot or enough to make you feel uncomfortable since they're all talking in Vietnamese. Nancy isn't the best at English but her work speaks for itself. When I was being indecisive about what to do with my nails, she said she would take care of it and give me something that would be classic and natural looking-- right up my alley. The end result was beautiful. I loved that she didn't keep them super long so that they felt like claws. They looked natural enough with a beautiful sheen that glowed all the time under any kind of lights. For the 3 weeks that I had these nails on, I couldn't stop staring at them. I would even find myself tapping my nails on my table and countertops because the sound amused me. Alas, I had to take them off. I just couldn't get the hang of typing in them, much less texting. Made an appointment a few days before NYE and was able to come in the morning. I got my nails done with Kim and she did an amazing job! Im new to the fake nail world - so I wasn't sure on the process or what was best to do. And Kim was very helpful in explaining everything and making the best suggestions. My new go-to nail place! I've been trying to find a good nail place that really takes their time and makes sure the quality is satisfactory to customers and this nail salon is just that. I've been to Michelle and Lisa and they're both really good and never rushes. I really want to try Jenny as well as she is the owner and everyone recommends her, but the other nail techs so far are all great. The prices are also very reasonable too. My fill was $28 for my almond shape. The selection of colors on the wall are ok. I'm not sure if they have sample colors to look at, but it would definitely help customers choose their colors if they could see it on a display color wheel. It's usually $25 for a gel manicure, which is affordable compared to other places! My last visit was with Jenny and she was just wonderful. She was even kind enough to offer her honest opinion on the colors I was thinking about choosing. I'd recommend making an appointment, because they can get pretty busy, but they do allow walk ins if you are in the area and have some time! I came in for an acrylic full set and it was done alright, but not with as much care as I'd like. One tech applied my nail tips and another one did the acrylic itself. I had to move tables twice and they did not change the towel laid out on the table from another client before I sat down. This is a problem. They also do not clean their nail bits and they all looked visibly clogged with debris. There is NO cuticle care and acrylic was flooding my cuticles. Some of it flaked off today, literally a couple days after my appointment, and there is now lifting. No cuticle nippers. They didn't even bother to push my cuticles back. The tech who did my acrylic did NOT WASH HER HANDS after she helped her previous client and immediately started helping me. read more

Not sure whether to give 3 stars or 4? Just going to give 4 because my last experience was great - my first, not so much. The first time I tried this place, I saw they had a photo of really cute palm leaves on one nail. I came in an asked if they could do that and showed them their yelp photo. Well, they messed that up pretty badly. It was a joke, the lady tried but failed miserably. The second time I came in, I had Lisa. Lisa was great! She was super friendly and very meticulous with her work. I have been wanting chrome nails for a long time and found that they did them here. Though a little pricey ($40), I was super happy with how they turned out and Lisa made them so thick they felt like acrylics. Which for me is a good thing because gel nails usually last me like 4 days and so far mine have been a week and I still see them going about another 5 days. I used to come her over 10 years ago when I do my nails regulary. I haven't done much of pedi or mani since then. Anyway, this place reeks of the nail polish smell as soon as you walked in. My son noticed the odd smell and was complaining immediately as we walked in. We went on a Sat and it wasn't busy and got seated right away. Customer service was ok. I felt that the place isn't as clean as I liked. My skin felt a bit itchy during and afterward but that went away half a day later. I don't remember the workers throwing the tools inside the wash bin as my feet were still in there. That felt so grossed to me. Yuck!!! Also when the lady was painting my toes, she had pulled out this plastic toes divider from her pocket. Every other place use this but I noticed after the polished dried up, she put it back in her pocket instead of throwing it away. Ughhh, I hope she doesn't use that same one for the next customer. And I sure do hoped the one she used on me isn't the same one she used on her previous customer. I just felt like this place is not clean. I just got a regular pedicure with a tiny bit of massaging and they charged $24. I asked for white polish color but the lady didnt liked the color and suggested black. I was fine with black too but wished I had been more stern and get the white instead. I also wished they havent done that. It's like I'm paying so just get me whatever color I asked for ok? Anyway at the end they charged me $25 on my credit card. I don't mind but at least tell me it's an additional $1 if it was paid with card BEFORE charging it. I felt that, that's a bit shady. She removed my crusty, chipped gel manicure from a few weeks before and changed my nail shape for me from rounded square to coffin. Kim was extremely friendly and very diligent in her work! She kept asking me if I was happy with the shape and color while she was doing my manicure. I really appreciate how she took her time and was very careful and detail oriented. I got my nails done for $30 ($5 gel removal + $25 for gel manicure) which was a really great deal considering all the time and effort that Kim put into it!
