First and last time I'll be visiting. I booked here because the ratings are great, but it might just a good spot for manicures/acrylic only. I got my gel pedicure done yesterday, and already the polish fell off one of my toes.. I got nicked on the left side of the big toe, and I know that can happen sometimes. I didn't like the fact that I needed to ask for Neosporin to be applied. I feel like it's common sense to apply antibiotic on a cut before applying any polish, especially since the whole left side of the nail was trailed with blood. I do appreciate the owner I think, on helping me out on that. As of this morning, the cut was still bleeding, and I had to clean it again and wrap in bandage. Lastly, the application and work on the nails themselves were sloppy. I did ask for a correction, but I noticed the others still weren't even afterwards. At that point, I decided it was best to go to another salon afterwards since it was clear that the technician simply didn't have the skill set. As you can see in the photos - French tip smeared on a nail, tips in terms of length were uneven in thickness,a couple of toes were lop sided, and the gel polish wasn't evenly applied so the polish looked splotchy. Currently typing out this review as I'm getting it corrected in another salon. I don't have any interest in returning, even if a correction is offered. With the amount of positive ratings listed here, I think retraining should be done with technicians to make sure quality of services are equal for all. The older lady was nice and cut my nails well but then switched off with the younger lady getting mad because I didn't like the color and asked her to change it. As a a customer it made me feel really bad because she was frustrated and then was giving me attitude like I get it it their work and time but we are paying for it so I don't see a problem and she could've just charged me extra or been nicer. I was recommended this place by my little sister and they did AMAZING! I got a BIAB Gel nail set, they were quick Buick but also attentive. Once they started the design they would ask if it looked good, at other nail shops they don't ask me and just continue what they're doing. I used to come here for acrylic nails and I never had an issue with acrylics. They were always beautifully done and I would get compliments on them, but I did have an issue with a gel polish manicure on my own nails. The last time I came here was in December 2022 right before I went in vacation. I had suspicions that my partner was going to propose on our vacation and wanted to get my nails done and I decided to do a regular gel manicure on my natural nail and I was so disappointed. I got home and the nail polish looked crinkled which was weird and then it literally peeled off of my nails when I lightly scraped it with my own nail. I had to take off the polish and do them myself at home. For those wondering, my partner did in fact propose. I have not been back since then, but I would give them a try for acrylics. I came back the morning of February 7th because 3 nails had already fell off at work right when I clocked in so I didn't even start working yet. The girl that did my nails was Sophie and highly recommend her since she wasn't rough on me. As snapchats 'one year anniversary memories' pops up through out this week, I'm constantly reminded of this horrible set I got a year ago. Wouldn't recommend coming here considering how they couldn't do the ombré effect and instead showed a clear color polish. It's over priced and not worth it. My white set costed $55!! Update from my previous review! Also adding another star!! I've been here enough times for my stamp card to be full and my most recent experience has been the best! I had a design in mind and when I called, Ngoc told me it wouldn't look pretty on my own nails, only on acrylics. I chose another design and I was told to DM them on instagram so they could see if they would be able to do it. She also let me know the price in advance! Once I got there I saw that they had moved around some chairs. Then I was told they redid their floors! Looks very nice and spacious. The second time I went was last Friday to get a full set I was confident they would do an amazing job like last time but I was disappointed. My nails have all sorts of bumps on them the shape she was doing on me was almond shape I had to ask her to fix the shape because they were not matching she was nice enough to do that for me. This is a $42 nail set by removing dip powder and gel polish. I don't understand how a nail technician can be confident to take other people's money while making such terrible nails. I called to make an appointment and ask about services that I need to do before. But when I walked in, I didn't feel welcomed by the staff because none of the 3 nail technicians wanted to perform my service. If they don't like to do it, why get an appointment on the phone? During the process, she kept whining about how difficult it was to get the dip-powdered nails off, I didn't feel any respect from this woman, she handled everything clumsily and caused my nails to bleed but blamed me for staring at my nails. Unbelievable. I can't believe they use cheap base and gel polish bottles with thick and dry gel on clients' nails. If you want to charge a high price, make it worthwhile. I've been to other nail salons, and they all asked me if I was okay or need to fix anything, but here it was nothing, not even the dust on my hands was brushed off. Pedicures are good, $38 for gel pedicure, they don't offer a cash discount anymore. Manicures are usually hit or miss, which was okay with me since I went for basic color or small design and they had reasonable prices. But I won't be going back due to the lack of customer service today. I had to get to a nail salon ASAP because I started to crack my nails yesterday night and they were horrendous. I had dip powder and cracked all the dip off one hand, and still had to go to work so I painted them today. Then I had dip on the other hand that I had kinda cracked so I cut them short and painted the one that fully came off so bad. I now realize I DM'ed the salon asking for a manicure and when I got there I asked for gel. Maybe this mixup and the fact that my nails were ugly made them act the way they did, but I just felt super unwelcome. This time I got uncomfortable so I just asked for a cuticle clean up and the pedicure, and kept to myself for the remainder of the visit. I used to love this place, but the quality has gone down. I got my nails done here for my wedding. For a 40 dollar gel manicure, its not worth it. My nailbeds were not cleaned efficiently. The pedicure was good though and the ladies that worked on me were pleasant. The one thing that threw me off was hearing the heavier-set nail lady yell at a few customers over the phone and then complaining about it in vietnamese very loudly throughout my time there. The pregnant receptionist also had a very angry look on her face and was also bitching about clients. It just made the entire experience very awkward. Negative energy filled up the whole place and I just couldn't enjoy my mani-pedi. Judging from the other reviews on this place, they are going to probably respond to this review and shift the blame on other people. This is my one and only nail place. I found this place 2+ years ago after desperately searching for salons that did nail art on real nails (not just acrylics) after being scarred from going to other places. I also used to do nails on myself so I had a very high standard of the quality it should be. BUT THESE LADIES ARE AMAZING, every single one of them is able to do designs with ease and I do have to give fair warning to new people: perfection can not be rushed. Expect to take time out of your day if you want a design, the ladies take their time to prep your nail so we'll that the design can last! As I said I've been going here for 2 years, and even though my real nails are strong - when they put on nail polish it is like concrete which really is true to their name of Top Coat, because damn that is an amazing top coat! My most recent design I got done a month ago before October started, I just had the redone recently and they still looked soooo good! It also had gems that only started falling out last week which is crazy because most places the gems fall out after a couple days! I love this place, they're able to do so many designs that I show them, just send a picture on their Instagram and they can pretty much do it or they'll explain what they can do which is still very similar. So first time around, I guess I could've asked about why my french nails were $30 instead of $25 as promoted. This time around I came back for the removal of my gel nails. I was told it was $5 for removal when I made the appointment, but I was charged $10. I did ask this time the receptionist this time around why it was $10 and it was because I didn't add a service to my visit; although, my Yelp friend made a good point. I returned to Top Coat again because I had a last minute prom plan and I wanted the same design as last time. Also, I wanted to give them another chance but honestly the experience was about the same. The same nail technician I had from before did my nails and I think they look better this time, but she still looked rude af. I said I wanted red crystals and she kept telling me she didn't have any until I looked for myself and I was like "they're right here" and she was just like "oh". However, what really ticked me off was that I heard them talking about my date and I right in front of me (I guess they didn't realize I understood Viet as well). While I was there they seemed to talk about a lot of their clients in Viet if the clients couldn't understand and so overall some of them are not really kind.
