I'm not sure how I feel about this salon. The work is Ok, but the employees here aren't friendly or gentle. They're super rough and keep to themselves. The lady doing my pedicure asked me so many times if I had called. I told her Yes before I sat down and 2 other times during my service. Would it have been a problem if I didn't call? Even though the window stated they accept walk ins. I'm not sure what the problem is. Did she not want my business? They still had over an hour before closing. 4 people walked in after me and got better treatment than I did. I didn't feel welcomed here. Most likely won't come back here even if I'm desperate. i was going to come on here and sugar coat my experience but after i came in for a BOOKED appt and they made such invalid excuses for making me wait 30 mins (absolutely not the first time this has happened to me or others) i was so fed up. I want to add on that if you are planning on getting your acrylic nails removed you may want to reconsider as you are at risk of hpv, they use the same fake nail to remove everyone's acrylic and IT HURTS!!! Their last resort is to soak your nails off normal. I want to add on that i am a vietnamese individual and i speak it fluently and to hear how these ladies speak about their customers make me sick. The owner is just a mean lady, there is another lady who made me bleed twice back to back visits to the salon- no accountability! Just got my nails done with Michelle yesterday. I got so many compliments at work today. I know its too early to celebrate Christmas with nail design but trust me it will be worth it. Came here as a recommendation, first time was just ok, I think it's great everyone in the area is friends and a lot of traffic coming in, but last two times I came, my nails and toes have been f'd up. They are crooked and not all are same shape. They miss like an inch of toenail painted. They are gambling and so loud when you are trying to relax. Then they come and do your nails at the same time. I was there 2 hours last time. And then an additional hour for them to fix them. They also had my 10 year old wait for over 45 minutes with her feet in the water, place is ghetto asf. I'll be going back to my south SJ area. I was there today and have to go back again tomorrow for crooked nails and fixing of toes, like dang do it right the first time. My nail technician was incredibly patient and thorough while doing my nails, and I honestly let them freestyle my design, so I'm very satisfied with how them came out (sooo cute). The salon was clean and tidy, the staff were so kind and friendly, and the pricing was also pretty affordable! This is my first time visit here. I walked in on the Sunday around 11:30am without appointment. I waited for like 30 mins. Ruby was the person who take care of my nails. Due to my limited understanding of the nail care terms. Ruby was misunderstood in the beginning the service I want. I would like to take back my previously positive review about this nail salon (sorry not sorry). I went in a couple months ago pre-quarantine for a pedicure and to get my acrylic nails removed. The woman that was removing my nails had absolutely no idea what she was doing. She kept tearing them off my nails aggressively and although the salon was dead empty, at first none of the other employees came in to help her. It wasn't until she tore off two of my nails so badly that I was bleeding terribly did Alan take over and finish removing the rest of my nails with zero damage. No apologies at all from the first woman. All she told me was "you're going to have to wait 3-6 months before you can get your nails done again." Well no shit, you ruined my nails. They decided to move his mom mid refill ( literally after shaping and smoothing ) to sit on a pedi chair where two people would work on her painting her nails and doing her toes which is fine minus the fact that her feet didn't soak at all and lastly the woman didn't scrub her feet at all either ! As for myself I was sitting for like a good 10 minutes soaking my feet in cold water waiting for the owner to come back from doing an eyebrow waxing and upper lip wax .. I took my feet out of the water cause they were getting pruny -yuck ! My nails weren't shaped nicely and overall bad experience . This location is for walk ins since the already existing clients are rushed off and pushed aside to get more cash flow . Will not be returning . read more

DIPPING POWDER = LIFE CHANGER!!! I'm not a fan of acrylic nails and somehow shellac/gel polish can't last on my nails over 10days. When I first came to Cute Nails & Spa, Chloe introduced me the dipping powder and I am OBSESSED with it since then. It's thinner and looks more natural than acrylic and definitely last longer than gel. Another reason that I gotta give my 5 to Cute Nails is their nail arts options. Beside hundreds of gel polishes, the have tons of stuffs for designs. Everytime I come, I always see them have something new added to the collections. I always have issues with San Jose nail spas because their regular manicures are over priced and charge $5 to remove gel. Back in San Bruno if I want to get regular polish and remove my gel, the entire cost is only $15. I had to pay $5 to remove, $13 for the manicure, $1 for using a debit card, and don't forget the tip. They didn't even give me the color I selected and the manicurist didn't know what I meant by "I don't want the edges sharp." I really try to give places a chance, esp because this place is so close to where I currently live, but I definitely will not be coming back. read more

The blue tips are and inspo I had in mind and the green was an amazing set done by HAILEY. I also had gotten a pedicure two days prior from AMY. Hailey has done my nails before and she never disappoints. She always asks if I want a design or anything new to spice up my nails! A big thanks to AMY for giving me exactly what I wanted. I love square toe nails but it's always hard to get someone to do exactly what you want, she did a very well job at cleaning as well. This salon will always be one of my favorites. I used to come here a couple times when they first opened. The first couple experiences were good. However, every time I came, I've always felt like I was being worked on by a new nail technician. They would seat me in the back with a nail technician who sits by the guy (who i'm guessing is either the owner or best nail technician there). While I'm being worked on, I just felt uncomfortable and awkward because he is just watching to make sure the person working on my nails is doing it right. The last experience I had here, I had an older woman work on my nail fill. I mentioned I had a couple broken nails, especially the thumb. The thumb had a big chip. I felt like she didn't know what she was doing because she had to keep asking for help. The nail fill took a long time. The thumb was never fixed. It was still chipped. It was like she painted over it a few times to try to mask the chip. I think because of that experience, I decided to go to a different nail salon. I wanted to stay happy and satisfied because I live fairly close to this nail salon. But, because the nail technicians can't work independently on their own and never really fixed the problem, I don't think I would return. read more
