What a clean Pleasant little taco joint. The menu is very simple tacos enchiladas and drinks maybe some rice and beans if you ask for it. I came in late it was close to closing time but they were happy to help quick to serve and the food came out piping hot. I mean so hot that I could barely pick up the tortillas, maybe I'm just a wimp who knows. The asada tacos were very nice and very meaty the El Pastor Taco with flavor flavor flavor. Amazing chicken! My favorite place for a quick lunch or whole chicken which I usually take home for a simple tasty meal. Enough for 2-4 depending on your appetite. This is one of the only consistent places to eat in GJ. My wife and I spent a few months in town on business and of all the places in Gj, I found only two restauraunts to be consistent ;Pollo Asado and Bin 707. They offer a 1/4, 1/2 or full chicken dinner. The chicken is grilled in a very flavorful red chili sauce. All of the meals come with beans and rice and tortillas. Pollo Asada is my favorite Mexican food restaurant in Grand Junction. They are a very basic setup and the decor of the place is mid 80's at best. I always get meals to go. There tacos are awesome, I get 4 at a time. Make sure you get all of the sauces and the pickled onions. My kids love the whole chicken dinner. Shhhh... Grand Junction's best kept secret. Like other reviews, the decor is not why you come here. The food is absolutely fantastic. We had tacos al pastor in Sayulita, MX a couple years ago and this place took us right back there. Not a lot of choices... But what they offer, they do very well. The chicken enchiladas were a hit with our kids, along with cheese quesadillas. All of their sauces are great, but watch it- their spicy salsa WILL bring tears to your eyes! Amazing food, amazing service and an absolute must if you're local or just passing through looking for authentic Mexican food! read more

I was expecting a lot more based on other reviews. Small tacos and not good. The rice had little to no flavor and the beans tasted as if they came out of a can. The medium salsa tasted like a can of tomato sauce. I will not be going back, it was my first time and last time. read more

I checked out this place based on good reviews from Yelp. For me this place did not deliver. I ordered the quarter chicken and 2 lengua tacos plus a drink. It was worth $16.00. The prices have gone up. The chicken is very dry and there was very minimal rice and beans. You get one roasted pepper and one roasted green onion. For the tacos, there was only a few pieces of the lengua plus almost no picadillo on it. And the lenguas are bland and tough. The girl at the counter I think is mute since she neither smiles nor talk back to you. No customer service skills at all. What a rip off. Will never ever going back to this place. read more

I know they have a few other things on the menu, but when the name is "Pollo Asado", the best thing on the menu MUST be pollo asado! I wish more people knew about this place so it keeps in business. The perfect quick pick-up dinner on the way home because they are quick and they give you a lot of food for the price. The chicken is marinated in a red chile sauce and grilled to perfection. Well, they must have had every family member write in a good writing cause it was nothing worthy of 4+ stars. We should have known when we walked in at lunch and only 3 customers. There was a limited menu 1/2 doz items. Ordered cheese enchilada and beef taco, virtually no other items available except chicken. They were both tasteless, beef was little chunks of tough tasteless meat. Had to be the worse "Mexican' food we've ever had. Beware, it's not what you think. Maybe their chicken is better. read more
