This place was in the cutest little market square, that i seriously feel every city should have!! Multiple restaurants in one area, all an eclectic mix! We only chose to sit here since a bar spot was open! I am super glad we did though. We ordered Bloody Mary's to start, they were so delicious. Not super tomatoey, and the perfect amount of spicy!! We ended up ordering another round of bloodys along with an appetizer. We got the Cod Nuggets and they were super good. The waiter described them as pillows and that's exactly what they were!! The perfect small bite! The waiter/bartender was so friendly as well, we told him we were from out of state and recommended some places to go! He was very attentive and professional! The bar area and surrounding tables were full, super clean and just awesome! The next time we go to Portland, we will most definitely be back!! read more

we sat on their nicely lit and quiet back patio (but the inside was nice too), and a cordial but not kind server, do not make up for the pool of grease all my hot food came in- poured from my burger for 3 minutes- the sandwich was pitifully small for 10$. the salad was a good size and they have a good margarita and wedge fries - so i would take my in law or a date if i didn't want to be asked out again, thank you for the stomach ache! read more

Okay not bad! The winner winner chicken dinner was really good! The salad just divine. I also got the roasted cauliflower with the green goddess sauce and I probably devoured that in less than 5 minutes. By far one of my favorite dishes. Oh how can I forget the rotisserie pork sandwich with the mouth watering fire manchego cheese crisp right in the middle of the sandwich slathered with Romesco sauce!!! Great flavor and great to share! The potato bravas was very good, but I would suggest to order the sauces on the side since my potatoes were swimming in it. However it was good as usual. Not fond of their version of Bloody Mary, but hey others really dig it! Overall, it was a great experience. The chicken is flavorful and definitely juicy. I had a quarter chicken, the roasted cauliflower, and the garlic shrimp. Everything was absolutely amazing - seriously, so good! The service was also very friendly and fast. After my first visit to Pine Street Market, I knew the next time I went I'd have to go to Pollo Bravo. What could be better than chicken and dipping sauces? Last night, I got to try it. I ordered a quarter bird and their asparagus dish. I couldn't decide on just one sauce so I got the garlic mayo and the hot sauce. I'm really all about my sauces, so I definitely dipped in both of them! The combination of the two was absolutely perfect. The chicken itself was so simple but so delicious. Now on to this asparagus... it was a little overcooked BUT... it came in this amazing, creamy, yummy orange sauce. I was over halfway through it when I questioned what the sauce even was (no, I didn't read the description on the menu, I just saw asparagus and jumped at it) - but I could not get enough! It was so great! My boyfriend tasted it and goes "that's a red pepper sauce" and I thought to myself, no it can't be... I hate red peppers! So in addition to having amazing chicken, tasty vegetables, and good drinks... they have made me fall in love with red peppers, which I previously would have stayed away from at all costs. My complaint that is SO basic but always annoying; butter came out frozen with my bread, there was no spreading possible so I boxed it for later, bummer but whatever. Had the quarter chicken w/the house spicy sauce and a cider. It was very tasty. Plenty of chicken that tasted delicious. The dark meat of the chicken was tender and moist. The white meat of the chicken was a little dry but the dipping sauce made up for that. I would have ordered a side but it became way too spendy to do that. I figured I'd save $8 and just get a small item at another spot within the vicinity. The staff was nice and helpful. Eating at the bar was a cool option. This place is great. Yummy chicken place with Spanish flavors. Such a great concept. We ordered the Familia dinner (whole chicken, potatoes bravas and radicchio salad) was more than enough for 3 people with some leftover. We did order a side of the cauliflower with green goddess dressing too. So good. I'm just sorry I'm discovering this a few weeks before moving out of the neighborhood. It's not much of a splurge; happy hours prices are crazy cheap, with the best quarter bird in town for only five dollars, so if you're looking for a deal, this is the place to do it. Our friend, Tom, was able to give us some great guidance, and suggested some great pairings of beers and birds, which was an amazing idea (hazy IPA is perfect with romesco sauce). Everything I've said is 100% true and then some! Obviously the chicken is the main event, and every time we dive into one it's top-notch -- juicy and perfectly cooked. The radicchio salad was good, had a taste of bitterness, crunch from the croutons, and a sweet vinegar dressing over it. I thought it paired very well with the chicken. I chose the garlic aioli sauce and it was thick, garlicky, and was overall tasty. The chicken was good but not super flavorful. It seemed to be slightly dry in the breast meat. I met a colleague here for lunch. At noon. Wow this place is packed! We found two open seats at Pollo Bravo and decided to try it. Friendly attentive bar service. We were going to order a few things to share but then saw the folks near us get the "winner winner chicken dinner" and decided that was going to be easy and looked very comforting on this cold wintery day. I was impressed with the flavor- was not over cooked at all. It when I dipped it in my garlic broth sauce POW that was the winning winning combo! The salad was delicious too. For 10$ I thought it was a great deal - plus I didn't finish it all so a snack for later will be enjoyed. I'm looking forward to trying more of their menu. Next time I will go earlier or later to miss the peak lunch hour -- but something tells me this spot might be hoppin' all day long. read more

What a nice addition to the neighborhood. My wife and I had a rare date night and had heard they were opening that week. We went on a Saturday. I knew walking in that this was run by great people. Beautiful space and friendly staff. Love seeing the rotisserie chickens cooking in the kitchen as you walk in. Order at the counter. Found a nice seat. We got a half chicken with sauces, side of potatoes and a broccolini starter. A couple delish cocktails. We hoped for good, but we were blown away by the quality of everything. The chicken itself was perfect but the standout for me was the hot sauce. OMG. I thought it was going to be some red pepper sauce but instead it was more of a brothy dipping sauce that seemed quite thin. But it was frickin' perfect with the chicken. Lightly coating it and just making everything better, so much flavor, enhancing the chicken not covering up any of the flavors from the bird. On a return visit (oh we will be here a lot) the owner showed me his fermentation room where they make the hot sauce that takes weeks and then the cider press they use to get all the goodness out. So when I'm telling you about the care going into that tiny cup of sauce that still lasted the whole meal, believe me it was great. New places always have bumps. I've eaten here three times. Twice I've ordered the Winner Winner Chicken Dinner, which is a quarter bird and their radicchio salad. The third time? A whole damn bird and full-sized radicchio salad. I may be in a rut, but it's the most delicious rut that I can imagine. These birds are legit! The chicken is juicy and flavorful as all hell, and when you get the whole bird they cut it up for you into manageable pieces. They offer up a number of side sauces, and while all have been good, I tend to forget about them and just go straight for the meat. This is a feast that I can feel good about eating. read more

After stuffing my face at the Saturday Market...... well I was looking to stuff my face some more, but not too much. I could only eat at one spot in the new market area. I went with Pollo Bravo and was so happy I did. I usually start with my food or drink, but I want to start with my server. A young kid who recently graduated from college. I think he said he went to Oregon, but I could be wrong. We talked about how he worked photography during game days. He was super helpful and very friendly. They had beers and some cocktails here. I snagged one of each. The cocktail was fantastic. The beer was good. As I mentioned in my previous room it's cool to see an eatery like this that serves well made cocktails as well. That's not why you come here though. You come here for the Bocadillo de Lomo, which is rotisserie pork loin, griddled manchego, caramelized onion, and romesco. It's pork loin is stewed in chicken broth for over 24 hours! That bad boy was fantastic. Also got an order of cod fritters which were light and delectable. Everything hit the spot. Fantastic time here. Make sure you make your way next time you're at the market. read more
