And the one person that did did not speak it very well. With that being stated... DO NOT GO IN THERE GIVING THESE PPL HELL BECAUSE YOU DON'T SPEAK SPANISH AND THEY DON'T SPEAK ENGLISH. If I refer you to this place, do not go in there being rude because you can't understand. Even my salad which I told them put the cheese on to the side they didn't. But it's a language barrier. Pollo Campero is an extremely popular chicken chain among Latinx, and everyone should give it a try! When I went to a location in Illinois it was packed and there was a long line. My friend told me this Nashville location seems busy every time she passes by it. On a Saturday night there was a short line at the register. Everyone was ordering in Spanish and employees were speaking Spanish and English both which is cool. I had a two piece combo. I like this place because they have sides like rice, plantains and yuca fries- something different than American chicken restaurants. Because of the high volume of to go orders, my dine in order took about 10 minutes but I think it's reasonable. Their fountain drinks also include horchata and Jamaica! How fun. I tried mango drink. The seasoning of the chicken is so addictive. Chicken is so juicy. It's just better than any other and I understand why it is so popular. Please try their chicken and you won't regret it. read more

Hidden gem. My family has been passing this spot for a while now and we finally said screw if let's try it. Came right about 6:30-7:00 ish and there was a massive line. Not a terrible wait since the food was good but just something to be aware of. Honestly, they nailed the service in the drive thru. Repeated the order, accurately recorded the order, the whole nine. We don't have a local Pollo Campero in our state, so when we travel we look for locations. This is our second time in the past two years that we have visited-- we enjoy the flavored chicken and the fried plantains-- not so much the mashed potato, it tasted like instant mashed potato with a spicy gravy to disguise it. Thank God the chicken was good because the first bite I had was of the coleslaw side (which was flavorless) and the tortillas were very old and dry so I was pretty disappointed at first but the tasty citrusy and juicy chicken made it all worth it. Long line about 30-45min for drive-thru and you get to the window to find there's no more grilled chicken. How? You all see the line... food was mediocre at best. I have no idea why the girl working there was sooo mean...like it was to the point where I wanted to ask her "Are you okay??" This was my first time going and I like the food, but there isn't a lot of variety with the chicken meals and it can be pricey. Their options were a two-piece with one side, a four-piece with two sides, or some sandwiches and a side. When I go to a chicken place, I usually get a two-piece with two sides. Pollo Campero didn't have that option. You could add a side, but you would end up paying more a two-piece than you would for the four-piece. I would recommend going here for decent chicken, but don't expect to be blown away. The average cost of a meal (four piece and sides) with a drink is about $12, so if you are looking for something super cheap, this probably isn't the chicken place for you. read more

I would preferred a 2 pc instead but they didn't have that on the menu for some weird reason. The chicken was really dark not that light brown look and the picture showed a roll but it came with a tortilla bread which was nasty. The meal was too high for what they provide. Have dined at Pollo Campero on several occasions. I'll admit, they don't make it easy for you to know the prices, and can be a bit pricy. However, the fried chicken is absolutely delicious. It is seasoned to perfection and juicy, even the chicken breasts are juicy. I am not a big french fry person, but their fries are delicious. The grilled chicken is good, but I prefer fried. The food is good and would be 5 stars for that alone. The service is an absolute nightmare. 45 minute wait at least every time. There are two registers at the counter and only ever one person on them. Sometimes there will be nobody on the register and they won't take a single order for 15-20 minutes with a line out the door. When they finally do take orders it takes 2-4 minutes per order so everything moves incredibly slow. Really awful and totally disrespectful to the customer. They won't even take your order and let you sit down and wait. You just have to stand there in line while they ignore you. The manager one night took a huge catering order, and because of that they were unsure if they had enough chicken for everyone and made everyone in line wait forever while they prepared dozens and dozens of pieces for one order. This is completely unacceptable. You need to refuse large orders for that and serve your individual customers first. You can have a separate catering service if there's demand for it, but you can't make everyone else suffer for it. Can't imagine a scenario where i'll ever come here again. It's a shame. read more
