I do not like corn but that's my fault because it was in the picture. Happy we tried it. If you like chicken that you cooked on your grill at home this place is perfect! I miss the Pollo Tropical that was in Nashville for a brief moment. So I was hyped to visit this location. I went on my first night of arrival and had the pollo-pork tropichop on fries and it was YUUUUUMMMYYY. It didn't take more time than I was prepared to wait, and it brought me back to a happy past when that location wasn't an urgent care. There were folks there who were having disappointing experiences but I wasn't one. I went again 6 days later and there was a sign that indicated they realized that they had inadequate staff so they were only taking online orders and drive-through. A manager had mercy on me because I was walking behind the cars hoping to walk to the drive through. I ordered a chicken tropichop with all the fixins. It didn't have any flavor but I also didn't ask for sauce. I remember the chicken being more flavorful by itself, but I am not upset because I mentally deduct calories from an entree without much seasoning. I balanced it with an order of potato wedges. As I waited, I basked in the soothing palette of colors and realized there were 3 ceiling lamps of each of the 4 colors. The only sadness was that my daughter ordered corn, expecting the scrumptious corn pudding that we had in Nashville, and it was just boring ole kernels. If I can give this place negative I would. There's always an issue at this location. The service is bad. Cannot even get a thank you or have a good day. The food portions are always inconsistent. Yesterday I went to pick up my online order and they couldn't find it. Wasted 10 minutes of my time before double checking the only 2 orders on the counter and there it is! The cashier misread the receipt and wasted my damn time. I go today to pick up my online order and the damn lobby is closed?! First, the online ordering for pickup is absolutely useless, do not use it. Every single time I order online I always give them a 20 minute window to prepare my order which is always just a quarter chicken, and they never deliver on time, I always have to get in line and ask about my order. This time was extremely frustrating, I planned to eat here on my ONLY 30 minute lunch break on a day I was pulling a double. I ordered 40 MINUTES before my break because it was important I get my order online to avoid me having to stuff all that food down in a short amount of time. I get there and I don't see my food in the pickup shelf. Like always, I had to wait in line to tell them about my order, the kids at the counter basically said yes we know you ordered online and gave us almost an hour to prepare it but we're still going to make you stand there like an idiot for 10 more minutes while we prepare your order and yea we don't care you only have a 30 minute lunch break. They also have NOT ONCE given me the sauces I ask for, I always ask for fresh salsa, jalapeños and some random one I feel like trying but the lazy workers always just give me fresh salsa. The short manager in a green shirt is also not very hard working, she was in the back chatting and laughing it up with the coworkers all while failing to notice a 1 hour togo order has not been started. I do notice the big tall manager (looked Mexican) in a black shirt is always telling the workers to speed up and she just genuinely acts like she cares about the customers and wait times. I hate to contribute to the long drive thru line that goes into the street and blocks traffic, but this location simply does not give you any other choice. I miss when Myra was there, haven't seen her in a long time . Those were the days I would go almost every single day after work because the drive thru line was always empty and not backed up. I love the food and I sadly have no other choice, this company has contributed massively to my 30lb weight loss. Some of the reviews are correct, the rice is sometimes undercooked; however, I will not complain about that because I kinda like crunchy rice, that alone tell you how much it really takes to make me write a review like this. What I normally love about PT is that it's a healthier option for fast food. It's cheap and it's basic food you can recognize--grilled chicken on the bone, rice, beans--basic, but hearty. HOWEVER, at this location, it seems they can hardly ever get your order right, and when they do, there's some other problem, like finding HAIR baked into the biscuit!! Calling to find some resolution or correction has always been in vain... their number is a hotline to an extended automated system that eventually leads to a central customer service rep that is very far removed to the location's manager and offers no help. I always see the sign for grilled chicken on my drive between the keys and Miami, and I'm always curious. Well, today I finally gave in and was pleasantly surprised! Boyfriend and I shared the trio platter (guava bbq ribs, rotisserie chicken, and pulled pork) as well as a TropiChop (think taco bowl over either rice, salad, mac & cheese, or mashed potatoes and gravy). It all came out to just under $20. Not the cheapest fast food, but definitely higher quality than other fast foods. Taste was good too. Chicken was juicy enough and well flavored. The beans and mac & cheese mix went really well, and I loved the crunch and taste of the little popcorn chicken bits.
