This location is terrible!!!! I only go because it is close to my home. Tonight the chicken was burned. I couldn't even consume it. The woman taking the order was very nice it was too good to be true. I feel. Tried calling the store it goes to customer service. I visited last week and got horrible service the wrap also wasn't cooked throughly. Management seems to have changed recently, the service is hit or miss. My husband and I decided to go to Pollo Tropical for lunch. We went through their drive-thru to order. I ordered their Avocado Cilantro TropiChop salad with grilled chicken, along with a side order of their plantains. My husband ordered their Boneless Chicken Breasts with 2 Sides Platter, with his sides being rice and beans, along with a slice of their Key Lime pie . We both got 2 sodas as well. Our order did not take long to be ready, which was nice. I asked for one of each of their unique sauces and each one of them was delicious. My husband and I both really liked their food and both had a great lunch experience at this restaurant. The service was great as well. I can't wait to come back to try their Coconut Shrimp Platter! Being in Florida as I seldom am, I haven't really locked in any places that I always must go to. I know this: being this close to Puerto Rico I'm always trying to get a taste of that Caribbean flavor. So on a walk to Target, I couldn't help but notice the Pollo Tropical structure that sat right next to the store. Judging by the looks, it was exactly the type of spot that might be able to feed that unique tastebud. I'm guessing it was a converted Taco Bell or something else because the bones yelled of a familiar fast food chain that had been outfitted in a more island theme. The menu was interesting because it had some familiar Puerto Ricaño dishes but others that were unfamiliar. I thought I was gonna go with the Churrasco bowl that they were pushing but when I got closer and saw the combo chicken and pork, I had to change up! Another needed order was the sweet plantain (platino amarillo), so ordered me some of that too. Unfortunately I wasn't aware of the yellow rice, so I was just given the white by default (but take my word for it: if given the choice, I'd always go for the more exotic choice!). Diving in to my plate, I went for the chicken first. Though a little dry, the taste was absolutely fantastic! A very nice seasoning made a regular piece dance. But by far, the highlight of the plate was the pork! Succulent, shredded pork with a simple yet wonderfully savory profile that sent me right back to the beach front kioskos in PR. Pair that flavor with the sweet plantains and you have a dish that explains to you the playful paradox of Caribbean cuisine. For me it was a wonderful dining experience where I didn't expect one. Being back in Florida, I couldn't skip one odd my favorite Florida fast food chain. The food was very good as I remembered from last year, delicious. The place was dirty, even if I saw many employees trying to clean it. Also the coke had a weird flavor and had no bubbles. It tested like bottled coke that was left open for to long. Per usual I had their tropi chop, the grilled chicken is wonderful and their salsa bar is always my favorite part of the meal. My favorite are pineapple rum sauce and cilantro garlic sauce. Their guava bbq sauce is also to die for, it goes very well with bbq ribs they have. A little spicy kick with the spicy sauce and I'm still set. read more

The lady in drive thru had me repeat my order 3 times. Then proceeded to still get if wrong! I parked and went inside only for the "employees" standing around to tell me "this is all we have sorry". Tropi-chop = hard/dry rice, very little chicken Family Chicken dinner - chicken was hard and small container of brown rice was not filled up , rice was hard and dry. Cuban chicken sandwich the worst - hardly any chicken and tough , very few potato sticks. Ordered with no sauce and employee taking the order never noted it, so the preparer put sauce and it had to be done again. This store went down hill quite dirty and long waits. Would think twice to go back to this location. Tried to call customer service , when the woman answered we started telling her the problem and she hung up. We tried calling back several times and no answer. Called the store directly & they don't answer either, you have to leave a message and no one calls you back. Polo, tropical has totally went down drain. I've never met a business that didn't nose dive quicker with their new change and upgrades for sides. They are probably gonna go out of business soon. The food is decent but I lived in this area for about 5 years and this is the worst the service has been, the drive thru wait is horrible; I literally waited 30 mins in the drive thru before I was finally able to reach the point where I could drive away.....please keep in mind once you enter the line you can't go around or reverse so your literally just stuck there. This was never a problem before and when I used to come here, the hours are always inaccurate because they chose to close early without properly relaying it to their customers! I really only go through the drive through when I get food here. There is a serious issue with the employees here understanding my order. The one time I go and they understand me, they get my order wrong. Every time I go here I have to argue with the staff to give me what I paid for. Great food bad service. This Pollo Tropical just went through a face lift (October 2017). They changed out the menu and took away all of the real pates, silverware and they no longer deliver to your table. It's apparent that they stopped delivering food to the table to cut Staff. How can you call it "Pollo Tropical" when the food portion is small, should be call "American Pollo Tropical" (or something to American name). Black beans in a tiny cup (meant for kids). A real Pollo would be a big cup (medium to large to x-large) of black beans on the side of your chicken. Same thing with the mashed potatoes & gravy, kids size. The chicken itself was alright, well done. If you're really hungry & you know you can a eat a plate or two, don't go at Pollo Tropical, charged more than the food. I walked out, still hungry...disappointed with this place. You got flies buzzing around your food, while you're eating. One hand on the spoon & another hand making the flies go away. the worst pollo tropical ive ever been to in my LIFE. if you're looking for a good pollo tropical go to another one because this is the worst one. our food is always overcooked to the point you cant even bite into the yuca or fries. they always forget our food, it took me three times coming back and complaining that there were no fries or rice and beans in the bag for them to finally remember i ordered fries. they never have the vegan chicken even though it says so on their menus. and i've found multiple hairs in my food. their nutella empandas are always undercooked, their lettuce is always spoiled and turning black. the staff is also rude and likes to ignore their customers. the food takes a long time to come. im genuinely surprised this place is still open considering how many bad reviews me and others have given this place. read more

Glad they came to town! Quality food not fried or covered in sauce. Great chicken and sides, but the garlic cilantro sauce is world class on the salsa bar is worth the trip alone. I lived in Fort Lauderdale when this chained started and have been to the Cape Coral store that was great. They bring the food to the table on real plates with real knives & forks. Bottom Line: Never go here if you have any standards in your life. This place is awful in every category. 1. The line was out the door and there was absolutely no urgency in any of the employees to service the customers in a timely manner 2. The food selection was barely satisfactory unless you like to stuff your body with a major amount of unnecessary carbs and bad fats 3. When you actually get your food, it is NOT AT ALL what it is marketed to look like (both in size and quality). I waited 45 minutes total to get the food I ordered and when I got home the amount of food could barely feed a small child and my appetite at that point, non existent. After waiting this amount of time and enduring the overall experience at the establishment I did not even touch the food that I purchased.
