Pollo Tropical is one of my go-to spots whenever I'm in Florida. I wish we had one closer to home because I always make it a point to stop by when I'm in the area. This visit was a little hit or miss. My usual order is a half chicken, and while the flavor was there, the chicken was a bit dry this time. My daughter, however, loved her meal and finished everything. Sauces were a mix for me -- the pineapple rum sauce was delicious, and the guava BBQ is good but on the sweeter side. I tried the cilantro lime sauce based on a recommendation and personally wasn't a fan. I also tried their TropiChop-style bowl from another location (rice, beans, chicken, veggies), and it was decent but felt like it was missing something compared to what I expected. Dessert (cuatro leches cake) was okay -- tasty, but very little cake and mostly cream. Overall, still one of my favorites and I'll definitely be back. I have taken home many TropiChop meals over the past years. 3/18/26 the Chicken TropiChop meal was the best yet, every piece of chicken, green pepper, onion was cut precisely, it was appealing to my eyes and my pallet. Very casual chicken place. I heard pollo tropical and this location used to be a lot better and more popular. The food was average. I like the fried yuca! It was inconvenient how we had to ask for what we needed instead of being provided or self serving. For example, there were no napkins out or provided so we had to ask the staff for napkins. You have to ask for sauces. We had to ask for plates since they didn't give enough. It's very inconvenient for a fast casual place. I LOVE Pollo Tropical! The food is delicious, inexpensive and much of it is relatively healthy. Recently, they added a loyalty program allowing patrons to earn rewards for their purchases. As a new member, I received a coupon for a free small tropichop. I visited this afternoon to redeem it because I was ravenous and needed fuel for the gym. I opted for a create your own tropichop and designed it with 1/2 brown lettuce and lettuce, grilled chicken, black beans, corn and tomatoes. I graced the top with a small amount Curry mustard. The ingredients were very fresh and my lunch tasted superb. The cashier was friendly and the condiment bar was well organized. The floors, tables and window sills could've been cleaner which is the reason I'm providing a 4 star rating verses 5 stars. read more

I waited in the drive-thru line for 30 minutes. The waitstaff wasn't wearing any uniforms, just Street clothes, without even an apron on (disgusting). Had to give it one star to publish this. My son gets Tropi-chop there sometimes. I had a terrible experience a few years ago at Pollo . Had a chicken dinner and was so sick with v&d. I went to the doctor the next day bc I was so dehydrated from it, he was going to put me in the hospital. I went back and got my money back - lost day of work and doctor's bill - didn't even begin to cover my losses. Last night, my son talked me into trying it again. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich. Thought they couldn't ruin that. The bun looked like plastic and there was a dried out, over grilled small piece of chicken with melted cheese on it. Literally the worst PolloTropical location I've ever been to. Went there three times so far and ALL three times my order was wrong! Also they always give me issues with trying to fix it! I've worked in the fast food industry to I never try to be problematic but the workers are rude and take no pride in their work or work space. The food is always just thrown together or just randomly selected. I ordered ubereats pickup and got less than I paid for both in service and order accuracy. I have never had Pollo Tropical before and probably won't again unless I'm in a pinch for food. I get that it's fast food. But that doesn't mean they have to be rude. It was late and the inside of the restaurant looked closed, so I went to the drive thru window and told them I was there to pickup my ubereats. They said "drivers have to go inside to pick up". No problem. I clarified that I'm not the driver, I'm the customer - I ordered pickup to avoid the $10 in delivery BS. The person was still snappy with me and said "all pickup orders go inside, it's always been that way" to which I curtly replied "I've never been here before, it's 10:30 PM, I figured you could just hand it to me but okay, I'll park". I parked and went inside and was handed my food. I wouldn't even be writing this review if not for the missing jalapeño and terrible avocado quality. The avocado half is clearly the kind that is peeled, sliced, and shrink wrapped. It also cost $3. I can get better, fresh avocado at any number of restaurants for about the same price. A fresh avocado costs a restaurant about $.50 plus storage and 15% breakage. Call it $0.55. This avocado must cost less because it has a longer shelf life as it is shrink wrapped. It was also dense and chewy, and it was advertised as sliced but served as one piece. I'd happily pay $1.50 for shrink wrapped, unsliced avocado, but not $3! The margin there is huge and again, the quality does not justify the price. My mistake for assuming it would be fresh! I doubt anyone will read this and I usually make fun of people who review chain restaurants as the experience is solely subject of the quality of the employees, who are often replaced regularly by the corporate overlords, but I guess the rudeness and bad avocado put me in a mood. read more

Talking about poor service, this POLLO Tropical Location needs to be under better supervision. The cashier called a person stupid in the manager's eyes just because the person was unable to communicate in English.. The manager response was that he will deal with the cashier later. From the distance people were able to see the way the servers were handling food it was disgusting, rice spilling and beans out from their containers. This is to be a franchise and operate in the same way as other locations. My order of Whole Marinated Citrus Chicken was cut of. This has to be the worst run fast/quick casual restaurant in all of South Florida. They can not get the food out of the kitchen. There must have been 20 customers inside waiting for orders. Some complaining they had been waiting 45 minutes. My 1/2 chicken dinner with rice and beans took 20 minutes to receive after the order was placed. I could see the cooked chicken ready to go but the staff in not capable of efficiently expediting customer orders to get them out the door. Because the chicken sits rather than served soon after cooking it becomes dry, especially the white meat. The staff offers no apology for the delay or a thank you when you placed your order. When you have more than 10 customers waiting for orders all hands should be on deck to get the food out. Managment: Check your ticket times, this location is a disaster. read more
